🌹CHAPTER FORTY🌹

Alexander and I sit in the living room, neither one of us ready to go to the dining room to get something to eat. Besides, I don't feel like I can eat anything at the moment. He had made me sit down so that he could explain to me what had happened or what he remembers what happened.

It's not that uncommon for women to try to trick men and saying their pregnant when the child isn't even their own but someone else's. That is the greed in some. "Look, I swear I did not touch her. I was at the bar to help a friend. He wanted my opinions because he was opening up his first club and he wanted to know what I thought. That was the only reason I was there" He tells me.

I put my hand on his. "I believe you" I tell him and he gives me a sad smile but I know that this must be breaking him and that is why I need to be there for him like he has been there for a couple of days and just from the moment we met (or I met him and not when he met me when I was still young) he has been there for me.

I love him and this doesn't chance my feelings. "It was the night that I broke up with you and that pain of seeing you so broken and hurt broke me apart. I had to get something to dull the pain but I just needed you, yet you did not want me anymore and I had to make it look like we had broken up fro real. I got alcohol but it was only one glass before the phone ringed and I had to get back to the company, there was something going" He tells me.

"As I was about to stand up I felt dizzy and she was there to help and she told me her name and when I looked into her eyes I found them mysterious because I've only met two people with eyes like she had. Twin siblings. She offered to help me into my car and in my broken state I agreed and never thought much of it" He says.

"That was all I remember. I don't even remember making it to the car nor anywhere until I woke up in my bed the next morning. The company had been calling me all night since apparently I did not show up and I slept in my clothes. I swear to you, Rose, that I never did anything to her or with her" He tells me and I nod my head.

This situation that we're in is not a comfortable one and while we can't even get a rest from everything, I know that we have to deal with this. "I know. I believe you but whether that woman is pregnant with your child or not, this is something that you must think about. We both do" I tell him with a sad smile on my face.

"Alexander, some day we're going to be married. Whether that is with a child of yours or not but that is something that might happen and we need to think about that-" I tell him but I'm cut off by him taking me in for a hug and nearly crushes me.

"How did I get so lucky to have you? I truly don't deserve you" He whispers to me and I smile. "I think you have it the other way around" I tell him in the hug which he chuckles to and breaks it. "I think you need something to eat, I can hear that stomach from a mile away" He tells me.

I have been rather hungry for some time now but that doesn't matter to me. Not when there is so much going on. But he needs someone and I want to be there for him and love him the right away. "All right, lead the way" I tell him and take his hand once again and we stand up.

Alexander had asked a couple of doctors to see if the child was truly real and if she was pregnant or not. He had his doctors which he pays a fortune to have and they are the best doctors in the world. We wait in the waiting room while the tests are being brought in which should not take that long.

I hold his hand as we sit together. Selena, the woman sits on the other side of the room with a handcuff and a police man beside her. Apparently she has been running from the police for drug possession and other things that I don't want to know.

Alexander had literally dug everything he could on this woman, he even knows how she broke her wrist when she eleven years old. He did not stop until he learned everything about her, who she was and where she came from. She has also had a couple of drug problems and smoking problems.

However, the good news is that she's clean. Now that is. She said that it was for the baby that she wanted this baby and that she wanted it be healthy and alive. I suppose a child can change things and perhaps she's taking the road to healthiness.

The doctor walks inside the waiting room and Alexander and I stand up while Selena sits there and the police man is standing there like a statue which I actually feel sorry for. "The tests came back positive. She is indeed pregnant. With your child or not, that we cannot say yet. It is far too early. However, she also carries STD and since she is pregnant it can only mean that the father either has it or has gotten it. Mr. Knight, do you want to be tested?" The doctor asks.

I was not expecting that to happen but it did. I'm just glad that I'm saving myself until marriage otherwise I could possibly be carrying a disease too which I don't want to. "You go, I'm going to get something to drink anyway" I tell him and nods his head.

He honestly doesn't have a say in this, if he does have it then he will need to be treated for it as soon as possible and I think that can only tell us what the truth is or not. He walks with the doctor and I go to the wending machine that I saw earlier when we walked in here.

This place of the hospital is actually not in use as of now which is why we're here. Alexander doesn't want anyone to know what might be happening here today. The paparazzi will be all over it and that is something that neither one of us want.

"How dare you" A voice behind me darkly says and I turn around to see Selena standing there. Wait... I thought she was in handcuffs and a police man was with her but then I notice that she has blood splatters all over her and she doesn't appear to be hurt at all.

I take a deep breath as I back against the wending machine. "I could've had it all but you took it all away from me" She says and then she takes a knife from her pocked. A knife that is covered in blood which leaks down at the floor. "Selena, whatever you had against me, we can talk about. But please put the knife down" I tell her.

Trying to be as calm as I possibly can to speak to her. She doesn't need to be yelled at nor commanded something, she needs someone to be gentle with her. She smirks as she walks closer to me with the knife which I eye carefully to make sure it doesn't get too close to me.

Screaming for help would only make her more angry which I can tell that she is and that will never end that well for either one of us. The best thing that I can do now is keep calm and get her to put the knife down, somehow. "The plan was perfect. Too perfect to fail but that stupid test will ruin everything" She tells me.

Am I hearing her right, she planned all of this to happen? Did she do something to Alexander? Did she assault him in any way? Please not be that, he will be so crushed it that would've happened. "Getting pregnant. So simply and while he was broken-hearted, I would've taken your spot but you had to come back. I saw him run when you were in the hospital. I wanted him but you took him from me" She says and I gasp at her words.

I'm starting to puzzle together this puzzle that has been laid out to me. She has been stalking him and he doesn't know it, she's been watching him and me. For how long? She comes even closer to me and I'm trapped by the wending machine.

"A simple drug in a drink. It's such an easy thing but now it is all ruined and you're going to pay for it" She tells me as she walks closer. My eyes search for anything that I might be able to defend myself with but the only thing I have is my a dollar in my hand which I'm sure she doesn't want.

I gulp when she is so close to me. "Selene, please don't do this. We can work this out" I tell her but before I could even react she has acted and it was as it was so slow. She raises her hand with the knife up into the air. I try to move out of the way but I was much slower and I feel the knife pierce my skin before it impales my stomach and I can feel it go through my back.

A loud blood curling scream escapes past my throat to the point where my throat feels raw and it burst but not as much as the pain that is radiating inside my body right now. I fall down to my knees and then on my side as the pain is so much.

Tears are streaming down my face as the pain is intense and it feels like I'm breaking apart. It hurts so much. The agonizing pain inside my stomach as the knife is inside my body. I can feel how the blood is rushing out but it isn't as much as I thought it was going to be.

I know that if I take the knife out from my stomach then I would surely not make it as then the blood would leak out as the knife is the only thing that holds the blood in. Though, not all of it. Blood seeps into my clothes and paints them crimson red.

I can barely breathe as I feel the knife twisting each time I try to holding my breath is even harder as the pain is too much for me to handle. My eyes see Selena for a second before she is tackled by someone which I don't see for my blurry eyes and I feel someone kneel beside me.

Looking up by my tear stained eyes and the blurriness alongside the dark spots that wish to take over my vision make it hard to see but I can tell that it's Alexander by the shape of his face and by the touch of his hands on my skin which dulls the pain and his sweet scent that fills me up.

He makes the small amount of pain go away just by being here with me but that's not enough. Not when I'm like this. My body is being lifted but I can barely see. The darkness is attacking me and I give in. "I love you, Rose" Is the last thing I hear before the darkness takes me into its deepest depths.
