There have been numerous questions about the awards, so without further ado: 

Can I enter an incomplete story?

Yes! The story only has to fit into all of the guidelines mentioned previously, it does not have to be complete. 

What if my genre isn't available?

Certain genres aren't featured currently in the Rose Awards, but that DOES NOT mean that you shouldn't enter. If your book can squeeze into any of the other genres, please include it. Genres such as Romance and Horror do include a lot of books not usually in this grouping, so it's best to chose these. It will not have an effect on scoring. 

Does my book have to be officially in a genre to enter? 

Nope! 

Why are certain genres excluded? 

Certain genres, such as chick-lit or paranormal, often overlap with other genres and are excluded because they can often fit into other groups. For convenience reasons, we cannot handle every single individual group. 

So why is Vampire/Werewolf included if it is specific?

It may seem unfair, but vampire/werewolf books are incredibly popular on Wattpad, much more so than general paranormal. That does not mean that they are any better,  but it allows them to be judged separately. 

Can you be disqualified from the Rose Awards?

If you're rude to other competitors, the owners of this account, or judges, you will be considered for disqualification. We do not allow any lack of kindness on this account. If any kind of bribery (though we know you're all too nice for that) is attempted, it will be immediate removal from these awards. Lastly, if your book does not meet all of the guidelines or you do not fill out the forms properly, you will not be allowed to compete. However if you do not fill out the forms properly we will inform you, and there will be no consequence. 

Are mature books allowed?

Yes, mature books are allowed in the Rose Awards. 

If I'm a judge, do I have to read books that are mature?

No, you will be exempt from that specific book, but you will have to read all other books in that genre.

Can you judge every genre or just one?

If you're a judge, (though there are a few tiny exceptions) you can judge any genre that's not your own, and as many as you want. 

Can I judge on grammar/conventions?

No! If you're a judge, you cannot rank a book highly that has poor grammar, conventions, etc. Do not even send us a review if the books is clearly full of blatant errors. A book should not be chosen over another just for errors, we are not English teachers.  (A few are okay, but books littered with errors will not place, and will only embarrass our awards.) Unless the errors are for stylistic reasons, a book littered with errors will not place. The biggest penalties include, dialogue between different characters in the same paragraph, obvious spelling errors, etc.
