🌹CHAPTER SEVENTEEN🌹

Lunch couldn't have come sooner, I've been hungry all morning because I didn't eat breakfast. The minutes passed so slow when I was in my office going over files. The hunger was eating me alive and finally lunch has come. The rules of the office is clear: No food allowed.

Unless it's lunch that is. I walk out of my office and go into the elevator. The cafeteria is on another floor, so I always have to go down some floors to have lunch. The elevator is full of people that are going down to the cafeteria too. Because the company is so large and there is only one cafeteria, the floors need to share their lunch together.

I'm just grateful that I share my lunch with Lena, otherwise, I would be eating lunch all by myself and I don't really like that. Besides, Lena always has something to say, to keep my company. If she weren't there, I would most likely take some files down with me and go over them while eating.

The rule is you can't bring lunch to work, but that doesn't mean you can't bring work to lunch. I did that once when Lena wasn't at work because of she had to go to the hospital. It's actually a funny story. She tripped and hurt her knee, and then she thought it was so bad because of the bruise, but it was just a normal bruise.

She ordered the doctor to do an x-ray of her knee, and then it turned out there was nothing wrong with her in the firs place, it was just a bruises and nothing else. Walking into the cafeteria, I look around for Lena. We have this thing that whoever comes first takes food for the both of us and finds a seat for us.

That way, we don't have to wait in line for so long and waste time. There are so many floors in this building, so every lunch hour is only twenty or thirty minutes. You have to be quick and eat fast before the time runs out, that's why we have this like this.

I notice Lena sitting on one table, I go to her. "Hey" I say as I sit down in front of her, on the other side of the table. This is only a two person table, most of the tables are like that, only a few for four people and even less for more people. "Her, girl" Lena answers.

She has picked food for the both of us and she has already started eating, like I said before, you have to be very quick at eating if you want to have lunch and not be starving the rest of the day. I take my food and start eating it. "I think I've solved the rumor thing about me" I tell her with a smile.

She looks up at me with a shocked look on her face. "How?" She asks, not even believing my words. "The people who thought I was doing him now know that I wasn't because everyone on the floor could hear him doing it with another girl in his office. You really should have seen their look of surprise when they saw me come out of my office, they really though I was in there" I tell her.

As I eat a bit more. "Seriously? That's unbelievable. Who was she?" She asks, with a look of pure disgust on her face, I'm not sure if it's because of the rumor that has been destroyed of because he was with another girl. "I don't know, really. Some girl named Kitty or something" I tell her.

She doesn't stop looking at me with shock, but there is something else behind her eyes, I can't tell what. I'm not very good at reading people, or their emotion. I'm the type of person that has to look at their face to see what they're feeling, that's just me.

"Kitty, that sounds like a hookers name" She says and I burst out laughing at her words. Kitty is a strange name, but I don't think it's that. Perhaps her parents just love cats, there could be tons of reasons why she's named Kitty. She gives me a look that I don't know what is.

"Spill, what's bothering you" I say. The tables have turned around, it would seem. Now it's time for her to spill the beans, it's clear that she has something to say to me, only she doesn't want to say or she wants to but doesn't know how to. I've always found it rather strange that Lena can talk so much, yet when it comes to her feelings, she rarely says a word.

She raises her eyebrows at me, but I give her a look that says talk or I will make you. She always forces me to say everything to her, well technically not force but she always makes me tell her without using force and now it's time for her to tell me.

Besides, I might be able to help her. Lena never really wants to accept help, not even from me. Sometimes I have to help her even when she denies it. "There's something bothering you, and you're going to tell me" I say, calmly this time, yet with a dark tone.

"Fine, the ship is sinking" She says, wait I'm so confused. A ship is sinking? Is she talking in code or something because I really don't understand what is going on right about now. Are we even having the same conversation or talking about the same thing, because it looks like we aren't.

I give her a confused look. "The ship. You and Alexander Knight. I haven't found a ship name yet, but I totally ship you and it bothers me that he's with another girl when he should be with you. The two of you balance each other, like the yin and yang, and it's sinking. Which I will not let happen any time soon, I'm going to fix this for you. You can thank me later" She says.

My eyes widen with shock, well shock doesn't explain the things that I'm feeling. It's like a mixture of shock, surprise and anger and sadness and confusion and happiness all at once and that does confuse me. "What?" I ask, though it was more of a statement than a question.

I'm not even sure if that actually did happen, I mean this is a big deal. She did suggest that I liked him and he liked me but I thought that was as far as she would go, I never though that she would think that we would end up together or be a ship or something.

"Fix it for me, what do you mean when you say that?" I ask. I don't know if I want to know, well a part of me wants to know what she's going to do but the other part doesn't, so I'm at a war with my head about it. "Getting you two together of course, just need to keep every girl away from him until he makes a move on you" She says.

"I don't know what's going on with you right about now, but the fact that nothing will ever happen between him and me is something that you should think of. I would never go out with him, not in this lifetime at least" I say. "Yeah, you say that now, believe me when I say that your mind will change soon" She says with confidence laced in her voice.

Lena must be crazy or something because there is no way that I would ever go out with him, even if I have, but that's as different. I thought it was a work dinner then it turned out it wasn't, besides it wasn't a date so technically we never really went out.

It's all rather confusing to me, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I don't get how the cruel person that I have to work with chanced for one night. He was still a jerk, but less than he always has been towards me, besides I don't think he wanted his friend William to tell me all his secretes, he was going to but was stopped.

"My mind has already been made up, there is no way that I'm going to be with him. Not physically or mentally, nothing" I tell her in a warning tone, that's supposed to tell her to back off and stop her plan. But, that doesn't convince her and my plan backfires at me.

"The way that you're denying it, that you're fighting back means that there is something deep inside you that want to be with him" She says. She hasn't understood any of the words that I've said, I won't go out with him in any way. Not when I know how he treats women, and I don't want to end like that too.

Besides, he has already proved to me that he only wants to trick and play with me and make me feel awful, that's how he is. He loves to play with people and I'm such an idiot for ever falling for it, however it won't happen again. I will make sure of it.

"I will make myself clear, Alexander Knight and I will never happen. Like ever. And I thin-" I'm cut off my Lena when she susses me. I give her a what look. Then I notice that she's looking behind me, I turn my head around and notice that Mr. Knight has entered the cafeteria.

Never in my few days of working in this company, the boss has never eaten or been to the cafeteria. The employees aren't allowed to have lunch in the office, but the boss is. And he always eats in his office, I don't know what Mr. Knight eats because I'm always at lunch when he's supposed to eat, perhaps he does, perhaps he doesn't. I don't know.

"Wow, he's even hotter after sex" Lena says, staring at him with lust and desire in her eyes. I'm confused, she had just told me that she wants me to end up with him and then she's checking him out like she wants him. Well, she can have him.

But, she will get her heart broken in the end, like all the other girls. "What do you think he's doing here? I thought he never left his office" I say, I mean I've never seen him even go out of his office, unless going home and that one time when he came to get me to his office after I showed everyone that video of him.

I've never seen him even go to the bathroom, it's kind of strange, since he drinks a lot of coffee. Everyone in the cafeteria has stopped what they're doing and are looking at him, perhaps asking the same question that I asked before. Lena doesn't answer me, she too is looking at him.

Everyone is looking at his every move. I do too. He looks around the cafeteria, almost as if he's trying to find someone or something, I can never tell with this guy what he's doing. "I think he's looking for you" Lena whispers to me, the silence in the cafeteria is a bit uncomfortable.

No one dares to say anything. Then, as if he heard her, his head snaps my way and our eyes lock together, creating this eye contact that neither one of us break. From the distance I can't tell if he's angry at me or... grateful? I don't know. Then he comes my way, and I freeze in my seat.

"He's coming here for you, just like I told you. Remember, this ship will not sink. Not on my watch" Lena whispers. The eye contact still there while he walks over to me and I don't even notice that Lena slips out of her seat and walks away. Before I even know what happened next, he's in front of me.
