Chapter 1

I woke up with annoying sound of alarm in my head. Within seconds I realized what day it is. First of July. The day when testing for the Army starts.

I got up immediately and went to the bathroom. Even though I just woke up, I could already feel nervousness in my stomach. I brushed my teeth and got in the shower. Cold water woke me up and eased my nerves. I tried to recall a dream that i had tonight, but a long, narrow hallway with torches hanging on the walls was all I could remember.

After I finished showering I went downstairs and I saw that grandpa was sitting in the kitchen, breakfast already on the table.

"Goodmorning, Rose" he smiled at me. I went over to him and kissed him on the cheek.

"Goodmorning, grandpa". I sat down and began eating quickly even though I knew I still had time.

"Are you ready?" Grandpa asked. That's the question I've been repeating to myself past days and I still didnt know the answer. When I decided I wanted to go to the Army all I wanted was July to finaly come, but now that it's here I was feeling really anxious. I'm still sure I want to go to the Army, but I'm not sure if I'm good enough for it.

"I guess I am" was all i said. We finished breakfast in scilence and clened up toghether after that.

I went upstairs again and put some make up on. Not much, just mascara and foundation. I looked at myself in the mirror. Fondation covered dark circles under my eyes, so no one will be able to notice that I haven't slept well last week. But I could definitly notice one thing in my brown eyes. Fear. My phone buzzed and I saw that Abigail, my best friend, was calling me. "Hey," said the voice on the other side. "You ready?" That question again. "Yes, you?" "Yup, so let's meet at 8:45 in front of Castrum."
Castrum is a great palace in the central part of the city, the place where the goverment is seated in one part, and the other part is the Army headquarters. "Fine, see you there." "Bye." said Abigail and hang up. I had 20 minutes to get there, just enough.
I looked at myself again. Dark hair, dark brown eyes, gray shirt and jeans. I wonder how other people who want to be in the Army look like.

I went downstairs and found grandpa sitting in his armchair, reading a book. "I'm leaving, do you want me to buy something on my way home?" He got up from his chair and came to me. "No, sweetie." He just looked me for a second. "You can do this and there's no need for you to be scared." My entire life, grandpa was always there for me, he raised me. I hope I'll make him proud today. He looked me with his loving green-brown eyes and in them I could see that he really did belive in me and he didn't say that just to make me feel better. He is the type of person who would always tell you the truth, no matter do you like it or not. "Thanks." I said and smiled weakly. He kissed my forehead and I headed for the door.

It was warm outside with only a couple of white clouds in the sky. I went to the station and in a couple of seconds train appeared, just in time. Regular Humans could never afford cars or motorbikes, so we use trains or buses. After ten minutes I got to the center of the city. An enormous building was in front of me. Castrum always fascinated me for some reason. It looked ancient and modern at the same time. If someone told me a year ago that I will be going inside Castrum I wouldn't belive him. I was planning to study medicine after i finished Basic school, but everythig changed about six monthes ago.

Strong earthquake hit the west coast of our continent, where former capital city, Thynos was seated. After the earthquake came a huge tsunami that flooded and destroyed the capital. Thousands of people died, but most of the Melorians were evacuated before tsunami hit the coast. Then they decided that our city, Eom, will be the new capitol.

Melorians are race of people that was created about 500 years ago by Annunaki. Annunaki came from planet Nibiru and genetically engineered a third of Earth's population. That way those people got stronger, faster, had better reflexes and could heal faster than any Regular Human ever could. The reason Annunaki did that was to have people on Earth that were loyal to them and protect Earth from other aliens that wanted to invade our planet because they needed it for its natural resources like crystals, gold and oil which were starting to be hearder and hearder to find on Nibiru. Of course, if humans didn't want to accept Annunaki's terms, all of them would have been killed. But Annunaki didn't know, or just didn't care what their decision to engeneer only a part of human population would cause. Racisam took over planet Earth. Melorians treated Regular Humans as slaves. Even though there were much less Melorians, they overpowered humans with their extraordinary powers. By the laws Annunaki had set for humans, Melorians weren't allowed to breed with regular humans or Aurelians and if that happend, Regular Human or Aurelian would have been killed, but Melorian wouldn't because they needed them for protecting their colony, Earth. Melorians always looked at Regular Humans as animals, didn't let them get the education they got, didn't let them go to the same hospitals as they did. Some of them even went as far as raping human girls, knowing that they would be killed the next day because of that.

But 100 years ago, everythig changed. Planet Earth was under attack. Unknown civilisation that came from a plant out of our galaxy attacked and almost conquered Earth. While Melorians were busy setting protective wards around Earth, using new knowlage about magnetic fields that Annunaki gave them, Regular Humans conspiered agains them. They planned a rebelion and travelled for days from cities to cities, even though it was forbidden, to get more people. They made their own weapons and finally, they attacked. Rebellion first happend on the Sixth continent, and then it had spread out to Fifth, my continent, Seventh and the rest. Regular humans, or as they call us RHs, won that war. They got permission to build their own schools, hospitals and libraries. But Melorians still had a right to kill RHs if they thought they did something wrong and of course relationships between Melorians and other spacies were still forbidden. Even though Annunaki ordered Melorians to give RHs some basic rights, they never cared about how Melorians really treated us. Girls weren't raped that often anymore and people weren't killed for nothing, but they still looked down on us, and they still do to this day.

The city looked beautiful in this morning sunshine, tall buildings rose up all around me and if you looked towards east you could see the Pyramid. Every city had one and they were used for collecting energy, but Regular Humans knew very little about them. It always fascinated me, standing there, never changing, no matter what's happening. Its surface was made of slightly transparent from its thinness, dark green malachite crystal stone and that colour made a contrast to grey buildings all around it, but it mached a rainforest that spred out all around the city.

Abigail's voice dragged me out of my thoughts. "Hey" she said as she kissed my cheek. "Hey", I looked into her amber eyes, "Please tell me you are as scared as I am." She smiled brightly at me, just as she always did. "Of course I'm not, I just didn't sleep last night and didn't have breakfast for absolutely no reason." We both laughed and headed for the big door of the Castrum. A lot of people were around us, all of them our age, most of them with the same anxious look on their faces.
I imagined inside of Castrum many times, but what I saw right now fascinated me. We were standing in a enormous room which was already half full with people. I couldn't see entire surface of floor but I could tell that painted on it was a huge Melorians symbol. A circle with a triangle in it and inside that traingle was a smaller triangle turned upside down. I could see only parts of it, but it was visible that it looked beautiful. Around it were smaller shapes in different colours: red, blue, green, scarlet, gold. Abigail and I went to the far corner of the room and waited there for about 10 minutes.

In the other corner of the room was a staircase that led to a big balcony that was above this room. Suddenly a tall man appeared on it. He had black hair, black eyes and short beard. He looked about 40 years old and stood there on the balcony looking down at us. As soon as averybody has seen him they all fell silent. He spoke in a calm, deep voice. "RHs, as you all know, today is the first day of your testing for the Army. My name is William Davies and I will be guiding you through Castrum today." We all stood silent. "On your right is a door that leads you to a classroom where you will take your first test, physiological test."

I knew that already, it was written in the letter all of 17-year-olds got when they were asked if they wanted to join the Army. Next will be testing of our physical abilities.

"When you go inside you will all see a seat and a desk with your name on it. A tablet with a programme made for this testing will be on the table and when you all are seated the pregramme will be activated and questions will appear on the screen and you will have one hour to solve them. Good luck." He turned around a walked away.

For a moment there was only scilence and then everyone headed for the door. Abigail and I were standing near it so we got in quickly. This room was also very big. The tables were sorted in concentric circles and in the middle of room stood a blond woman. I sacnned the room quickly and saw that we will be sorthed in alphabetical order, which means I'll be close to the center. Then I saw the desk with name Rose Adley and sat down. A girl was sitting beside me on one side and on the other side there was a boy sitting in his place. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He looked at me for a second and I turned around, towards the blond woman in front of me.
She spoke and then there was scilence in the room.

"I can see that all of you have found your seat." She said. "The test will start in one minute. As you can see there are cameras all over the room, so don't try talking to each other during the test or you will be removed from the list immediately. After the test is over, wait outside for 15 minutes for the test results. Good luck." She sat down in a chair behind a big desk and a loud sound went through the room as a huge digital clock on the wall started ticking. One hour.

I looked at the tablet in front of me. On the screen was a caption that says "Tap to start the test." I clicked on the screen and the questions appeared. There were 20 of them. They weren't like the questions we got at school, they were more like tricks or riddles to test our intelligence. Slowly, I finished all of the questions. I wasn't sure I got them all right, but I think I've done well. I looked around the room, most of people were still looking at their tests. I knew Abigail was somewhere behind me, but I didn't dare to turn around. There were still 20 minutes till the end of test. I waited and waited.
Finnaly, I heard the same loud sound as I did an hour ago. Blond woman stood up and started talking. "Go outside of the classroom and wait there. You have 15 minutes till test results are ready, you can go use new bathroom made for you, but don't go outside." After those words she left the classroom. We all followed her outside. Then we were in the enormous room from a while ago.

There were people all around me and I couldn't find Abigail. Then, suddenly someone pulled me aside. "How did you do?" It was Abigail, I'd reconise her light brown hair that reached her shoulders and her amber eyes anywhere. She looked edgar to hear the answer. "I don't know, I think I did well. You?" She looked relived at my answer. "Great" she smiled, "Me too." She hugged me and tension I felt over last hour was now gone. From corner of my eyes I saw that a girl was crying and that her friend was consoling her.

"Let's go find the bathroom" said Abigail. "You go, I'm right behid of you, I just want to see if that girl is okay." Abigail looked at her and just shruged. "Fine, hurry up." She turned around and left. I wanted to go to the girl that was crying, but I didn't know what exactly to say. I headed towards her, she was stending in the corner of this big room. As I got close to her I relized more and more people were coming to her so I decided it was better not to bother her. I turned around, but Abigail was already gone.

I went in a hallway that was leading in two different directions. It looked like there wasn't anyone else that was looking for bathroom except for Abigail and me. I wasn't sure which way to go, but I decided to go right. I went straight and then the corridor turned left and then right again. I realized that I wasn't going to find bathroom here but I was so curious to see more of Castrum so I didn't go back. I came to a big staircase that lead upstairs. As I went upstairs I realized that this place was deserted. Were Melorians avoiding us and were doing this only because Annunaki orderd them?

On the secound floor there was a big wooden door. I looked around me, towards corridors on my left and right and there was still no sign of Melorians or anyone else. I got closer to the door and heard sounds coming from the other side. I took a step forward to hear it better and I realized that those were voices. I couldn't make out what they were saying, but I think there were two of them. I decided it was better to go back. I already risked too much by comming upstairs. I turned around and gasped in surprise when I bumped into something solid. I looked up and saw that it wasn't something, it was someone.
