Part 11
Rosaline's eyes widened in shock as she was appalled by the prince's comment. "Uh-uhh well...I just wanted to discuss the letter with you." She stuttered as she hesitated to make eye contact with the prince. "Before we do that, let me formally introduce myself. I am Arthur Lorgon of the Perditan kingdom." The prince said as he flashed a bright grin once again. Rosaline lowered her hand, placing the letter on the table and formally introduced herself as well. "As you already seem to know, I am Rosaline Wardwell from a small place known as Shaw village." Rosaline said in a low, slightly nervous tone. The prince smiled before saying "Nice to officially meet you." Rosaline suddenly grabbed and lifted the sealed letter and said "Your highness, can you please explain this invitation to me? Was it a mistake that you sent me an invitation to a royal ball?" Rosaline asked before the prince could charm her any further.
"That invitation was not a mistake, I would like you to attend the royal ball and share a dance with me." The prince said as he gazed lovingly at Rosaline's face. Timothy let out a not so subtle grunt as he nervously adjusted himself in his chair. An awkward feeling filled the room until Timothy broke the silence. "So, is Rosaline allowed to bring a guest to this ball?" Timothy asked with a smirk on his face while holding eye contact with the prince. Rosaline's eyes widened in shock due to Timothy's sudden involvement in the conversation. There was a small pause before the prince leaned back in his chair with a slightly annoyed look on his face. "If the lady wishes to bring a guest, then she shall." Prince Arthur answered in a low, slightly irritated tone. "Great! I'll see you both there then, please send a carriage as I am only borrowing a horse today." Timothy replied before quickly standing up and offering Rosaline his arm to walk her out of the room.
After a few seconds, everyone stood up and headed towards the door. While Rosaline was walking away, the prince lightly tapped her shoulder causing her to turn around and face him. "I'll send you the best carriage I have if you agree to come to the ball." The prince said in a low voice as if he would be disappointed if the invitation was rejected. "I will be there, your highness and a royal carriage would be greatly appreciated." Rosaline said as she flashed a sweet smile to the prince and walked out of the room while holding onto Timothy's arm. Prince Arthur watched her leave as he lightly placed his right hand on his chest and mumbled "Wow, that women just made my heart flutter."
Author's Note:
Things are starting to get interesting for Rosaline! Turns out the invitation to the ball was legit and now she does not have to question it anymore. Prince Arthur and Rosaline clearly have chemistry, but there's no way to know how far it will go until the royal ball. Do you think that Timothy was upset or even jealous about the prince flirting with Rosaline? Or do you think he was just playing a joke on his friend? Timothy seems protective over Rosaline, but the reason for that will be revealed later in the story. Let me know your predictions in the comments! I hope you're all enjoying the story and thanks for reading! :)
