Part Nine~The Kiss under Fireworks

Dedicated to DiabolicFairy

Marinette said she'd cook but Adrien insisted he pay for dinner. They arrived in the limo.

He opened the door for her and held out his hand and she took it. She smiled gratefully as she nearly fell and he caught her. He helped her into the restaurant.

It was beautiful. Definitely 5 Star no less. And I do mean NO less. It had walls with French Victorian embroidery. A diamond and 24 carat gold chandelier. It was magnificent.

The walls had gold carving in the corners with various things such as flowers, hearts, and the moon. In another corner, the sun. In another, the stars. And in another, a ladybug and cat.

The guests were posh. Very posh. Silk gowns, fine satin tuxedos and three piece suits with a tie and gentlemen's cane. Some even wore top hats. Depending on the lady, some wore diamond earrings and a matching gold necklace with a single diamond. Some wore platinum and sapphire tiaras. They wore ruby rings and silky gloves.

Marinette however, people stared at. She had a gorgeous black and red dress. The top half was red with one sleeve. The bottom half was black with red glitter. She wore a necklace with a ladybug. It was real ruby and black diamond. She also wore a silver and violet bracelet—a gift from Mr. Agreste himself on her 18th birthday. Her earrings however, were black cats with green eyes. Her favorite animals.

Adrien told her to dress expensive and posh despite her telling him it wasn't needed. She did, yet it wasn't truly flashy except for the jewelry. She didn't ever wear makeup, because her mother said she shouldn't. "The only people who need makeup, are the ones who are either rude and need something beautiful, or those who wore it in the first place." She said on Marinette's 16th birthday.

Her dress was made in sequin. But she had simple black shoes with a ladybug to accompany such a beautiful outfit.

Before they departed however, they had conversation of course. Mostly complements, but very pleasant just the same.

"Wow Mari you look amazing..." Adrien breathed through a through blush.

"T-thank you." Marinette replied.

"Do you like my outfit?" Adrien asked.

"Yes I do! It suits you!" Marinette exclaimed.

His suit was a black lobster coat(Sterling silver buttons and chain), a white shirt, a green bow tie, a gentleman's pocket watch, and gentlemanly gloves. He also had matching black trousers.

"Thank  you! I think so too." He chuckled.

Marinette giggled.

"So why such expensive apparel? I can just cook dinner. No reason to be pricey." Marinette said.

"Well, I do owe you. After all, you've opened my dad up." Adrien said.

"What do you mean?" Marinette asked.

"Well...he's been kinder. He's always treated you much better. I think...I think it's because he looks at you and remembers my mother." Adrien said his ears going pink.

"Aw how sweet!" Marinette said happily.

Now what Adrien hadn't told Marinette was that his father and him had a chat last night.

Adrien had a flashback.

"Adrien." Said a voice. Adrien's eyes darted to his room door. His father stood there, proper as ever.

"Father?" Adrien asked. His father walked over and sat on Adrien's bed.

"It has come to my attention that you like someone."

"W-w-what?!?" Adrien exclaimed in embarrassment.

"Don't worry. It is Marinette Dupain Cheng I presume?" Mr. Agreste asked.

"Well...it's hard to say....I...I like someone else too but she won't return my feelings...." Adrien said sadly.

"Why not Marinette? She's perfect for you."

"Why are you saying this father? She's just a friend....or at least...that's how she sees me undoubtedly..." Adrien sighed.

"I was just like you. It's been recently that I fell for Nathalie...Marinette....She's also just like your mother you know. Perfect." Mr. Agreste said.

"But fath-" Adrien was cut off.

"Try. Take her out on a date. Without saying so. Take her to Enchante Camille." Mr Agreste said smiling.

"I guess. But isn't it high class? Wouldn't the things she wore have to be pricey?" Adrien asked.

"Of course. But you can afford it. And she has a dress I'm sure." Mr. Agreste replied.

"Ok...I'll try. Goodnight f—Dad." Adrien said smiling too.

"Goodnight Adrien."

His flashback was over, and he smiled and helped Marinette into the limo.

They arrived and a waiter immediately escorted them to a table—on the rooftop.

You see, Adrien knew Marinette enjoyed the night air. She told him so. The moon was a romantic full bloom, and the stars twinkled as if they shipped the pair.

Adrien took out a seat for Marinette and once she was seated, he pushed her back in. He seated himself, and a waiter walked over.

"What can I get for you mademoiselle and monsieur?" He asked.

"Um...house special please?" Marinette said.

"I'll take that as well. Thank you." Adrien said.

"Wow...I've never been here before...it's beautiful..." Marinette sighed happily.

"I was hoping you'd like it." Adrien said flustered.

"Like it? I love it Adrien. But it's really fancy..." Marinette said.

"I know. But I thought I'd treat you." Adrien chuckled.

"I know. I hope you like my earrings even though they don't quite match my theme..." Marinette said.

"They fit just fine." Adrien said winking.

The waiter soon arrived with appetizers. Oven baked zucchini chips, caprese garlic bread, and raspberry Brie tartlets.

"There will be 3 dishes of food monsieur. A delicate soup with the finest broth and most organic onions and gold flakes, known as Soupe à l'oignon. A dish of Beef Bourguignon, and a final dish—or rather, dessert. A fine caramel Crème brûlée. I hope this is satisfactory?" He finished at top speed.

"More than satisfactory. Thank you." Adrien replied, writing a handsome check of £3000 and handing it to him. He then gave the waiter £500.

"Why thank you monsieur! Thank you!" The waiter exclaimed and Adrien nodded.

"That's so much money...are you sure Adrien?" Asked Marinette.

"Of course. It's practically a flea compared to what I could afford. Don't worry." Adrien said.

"Again, thank you." Marinette said hugging him over the table as she blushed.

Adrien smiled and they both looked at the moon. Marinette ate some zucchini chips. She fed Adrien a raspberry tartlet.

Their hands touched, and they quickly pulled them away. But their hands drew together a second time, and this time, they held each other as they gazed at the stars.

The waiters cart came and a gentle bell dinged, signaling Adrien that the first dish of food was done.

"Thank you." Adrien said.

"It's really no problem." The waiter replied. He never had such good tip except on rare occasions. He was very grateful. And aside from that, he thought how lovely a couple the two lovebirds were(granted, they weren't a couple, but he certainly thought so).

Marinette ate her soup while Adrien looked at her softly. She stopped and looked up to find Adrien eating his soup as well. She smiled at how kind he was, reminding her of why she fell for him in the first place.

"I'll be right back, please excuse me." Said Adrien standing up as Marinette nodded, still eating her soup.

Adrien walked back downstairs in search of roses. You see, apart from the most expensive restaurant in Paris, it was also a elegant mall. Of sorts. It was connected to Bourgeois hotel, so the out of town guests could have convenient travels. There was flower shop, where no flower bouquet was below £80 simply because of how they not only made sure the flowers lived a bit longer, but because they had real gold glitter. And sometime jewels.

There was a chocolate shop, which had the finest chocolates in any shape or flavor.

A painting shop, simply because it had paintings for people who were vain and adorned pictures of themselves.

A souvenir shop, filled with various gold and silver French souvenirs. Even a ruby and black diamond version of Ladybug's miraculous. A real emerald and black diamond ring of Chat Noir's too. A gold or silver or brass or really any material of the Eiffel tower.

A jewelry shop was inevitable. Across from the shop however, was a book and coffee shop so the elegant young men's girlfriends and fiancé's could shop for jewelry while the men enjoyed fine tea and biscuits (in Europe biscuits are cookies and cookies are biscuits) while reading a book of their choice peacefully.

The mini aquarium was also famous. Well, it was actually another restaurant, owned by the same people. It had a aquarium over their heads and the walls too, were a aquarium.

There was a elegant bar, mostly gentlemen's, but some ladies also went there—to watch the band preform.

When Adrien spotted the flower shop, he went in and bought a single rose with a crystal ladybug on it. He walked out, and made his way to the roof, and saw the waiter approaching their table and he hurried to Marinette but hid the Rose.

"Here is your second dish." The waiter said before bowing and then departing.

They talked, and ate and finished dessert. Then the waiter came over and spoke.

"It is my duty to alert you that the fireworks are starting even though you will undoubtedly see them."

"Thank you." Marinette said. The waiter bowed then left to attend other tables.

"Shall we?" Adrien asked offering his arm.

"Gladly." Marinette replied taking it.

They walked to the edge, which had a glass fence and looked at the gorgeous firework display.

Adrien gazed at Marinette's eyes.

Marinette gazed at Adrien's eyes.

Adrien leaned in...

Marinette leaned in...

And their lips met. It seemed the most beautiful firework displayed at that moment, and the few waiters and some tables sighed happily at the kissing couple. The waiter who served them especially.

They slowly pulled away, and Marinette was in a trance.

"I...I...I didn't mean to kiss you...I just...got caught up..." Said Adrien

"I-its ok...I...I kissed you back so..." Said Marinette

But they leaned in again...and kissed, more passionately then ever before as the fireworks had a grand display.

Such is love. A beautiful, grand, and glorious firework display that even in your heart, will never end.
