"Soojin, wake uppppp," I was shaken by a whining Yuqi, as I sat straight against the chair of my desk, realizing I fell asleep studying.

"Yes I'm awake now, leave me alone," I shooed her away, getting up to get ready for today.

After getting dressed in a white ruffled short sleeve top with a black pleated skirt, I made my way to the kitchen table, cutting an apple to eat for breakfast. However, I was abruptly interrupted by my phone violently ringing against the marble counter. Looking at the contact, my eyes widened.

It read the word "Mom". Mom. Mother. My mother. I haven't seen her in years. Why is she calling me all of a sudden? I was a little hesitant to answer at first, but eventually I picked up.

"Soojin darling, is that you?" I heard my mother's voice on the other side of the phone, not even knowing what to say. What do I say?

"Uh... hey mom," I mumbled quietly, still slightly surprised. "Soojin! It's been a while, hasn't it? How have you been?" she asked cheerfully. "Good." I have not been good. I've been anything but good. "What about you?"

"Nothing much dear, just a lot of work. You know, fashion designer things," she chuckled, making me slightly smile too. After that, there was silence for a few seconds. I could hear nothing but her breaths.

"Uhm... h-how's your.. dad?" she stuttered, causing my eyes to slightly widen at the question. "Uh.. he's good. Why do you ask?" my tone changed slightly, almost as if I was confronting her. Why ask that so suddenly out of the blue?

"Oh, nothing. Forget I even said that, silly me. I heard you're in college now, how's that going for you?" she asked yet another question, and I answered with a lie, yet again: "Good."

"I see. Well as much as I'd love to keep talking to you, I have to get going. I hope I can meet you soon. Till then, take care okay sweetie?" "Okay," was all I could say on my part. "Alright, bye dear!" she exclaimed, as I muttered a simple bye back, cutting the call.

"Well that didn't look too good," Yuqi came out from the corner. "Yuqi, were you eavesdropping?" I arched an eyebrow. "Maybe.... anyways, here," she handed me a cup of coffee, as I thanked her while cutting my apple again.

After finishing breakfast, Yuqi and I sped through the day, going to classes and getting assignments done. All the drama took away my true focus of coming to college - to study and reach the goals I need to in order to achieve my dream job. Thankfully all the drama has simmered down now, so I can focus on my studies. Or so I thought.

"SOOJIN!!" I heard a very loud voice call for my name, causing me to turn around. It was surprisingly Jia, someone I didn't expect.

"Oh, hey Gia. What's up?" I asked her. "I'm having a party this weekend, you and Yuqi should come over," she told us happily, giving us each a hot pink envelope. I exchanged a look at Yuqi before opening the envelope, seeing some unpleasant images.

Girls practically naked on silver poles, a full-sized bar with all kinds of liquor, and a DJ who looked like she knew how to make everyone deaf? Yeah, no thanks.

"If this is what the party is going to be like, I don't want to go," I shuddered, taking one last glance before making up my mind and closing the envelope shut. "I don't know about you, but I'm going. Seems like a lit party," Yuqi replied, her eyes gleaming. Damn Yuqi, I didn't know she had a freaky side.

"Alright, you do you. I'm probably just studying over the weekend," I remarked, Yuqi and I making our way to get lunch before going back to our dorm.

- - -

"Oh my god, I fucking hate that bitch- she's so cocky," Yuqi rambled on about a character in a show we were watching, stuffing the last dumpling into her mouth.

"Yuqi, you're too invested in silly shows like this, give them a break," I said to her, collecting our plates to wash them in the sink, until a knock disturbed us.

"I'll get it," Yuqi replied, walking towards the door, opening it while her face dropped. I wasn't sure why, since I couldn't see who was at the door.

YUQI POV

Oh no, not this bitch again. I walked outside the dorm, closing the door behind me. "What the fuck are you doing here, Jungkook?" I scowled, rolling my eyes and crossing my arms.

"Yuqi, we need to talk. We can't keep going on like this," Jungkook calmly spoke, cupping his elbows with his hands. I scoffed: "What's there to talk about, Jungkook? Didn't that whole fight say enough?" Jungkook sighed, looking down at the floor.

"Look, I know I fucked up. I wholeheartedly admit it. I've been nothing but an asshole to you ever since we got into college, and I honestly have no excuse. I don't know why I was acting that way- disobeying you and doing stupid shit," Jungkook looked up at me, continuing.

"We've been so close since we were kids, Yuqi. I'm now realizing that I can't lose you over dumb shit like this. I know I caused it, and I really am so sorry. I'll do anything for you, and I won't be a stupid fuckboy who doesn't care about his classes or whatever. I know you probably won't forgive me, but please, can we back to normal? Please? I'm begging you, Dimples."

Jungkook got on his knees, pleading me to forgive him. After hearing that nickname from ages ago, I lost it. I fell to the floor, placing my brother's hands in mine and crying. "Of course I'll forgive you, Kook. You're my brother," he engulfed me in a warm hug, one I haven't experienced in a while. It felt nice to not fight with my buddy again.

I looked up at him with teary eyes. "You pinky promise you won't do stupid shit and fuck stupid girls and be a stupid boy and ditch your classes, right?" I held up my pinky as I said those words. Jungkook chuckled, making the promise with his little pinky finger. "I swear on my lil baby sister," he smiled, hugging me yet again.

We both got up, Jungkook wiping my tears with his thumbs. "You know, I think you owe someone else an apology," I told Jungkook, as his eyebrows flopped. "Yuqi, you know Soojin hates me. I think she might need more time," Jungook spoke, making me raise an eyebrow.

"Yah, I was mad at you too. Now look what happened," I raised both my eyebrows, Implying that he should go talk to Soojin the way he did towards me.

"Maybe another time, she needs a break," Jungkook smiled weakly, before heading back to his dorm. My heart saddened at the thought. Knowing that Jungkook is a sweet person at heart, I really wanted Soojin to just talk with him.
Hopefully some day.
