Chapter XXVIII
"I love you."
Jellal kissed me back, holding me in his arms. The cave could've exploded, for all I cared, and it wouldn't have mattered.
He pulled away as a shock-wave sent us sprawling. "Erza! Are you ok?"
"Yeah!" I managed to answer, as another shock-wave shook the cave. I dared to lift my head, staring at the exit of the cave, as I noticed something.
"Rockfall!" I yelled, running towards Jellal, and throwing myself on top of him to make him move. I barely avoided a particularly sharp stalactite. Jellal gasped.
"Siegrain knew this was going to happen," I growled, "The rain's dislodging the ceiling, our exit's about to be buried."
"We should head there- Hey!" Jellal groaned, and I attempted to get off him, "Watch your hands, you narrowly avoided disaster, there."
I yelped, jumping off the tall man. Muttering an apology, I braced myself for any more sudden collapses in our confinement.
"-Right away!" he stared at the small entrance, "I mean, you never know-"
The rain started pouring furthermore heavily, dousing the spot below the break in the roof, and another wave of stalactites collapsed, closing up the entrance.
"-Or, that could happen. Of course," he muttered, obnoxiously, sitting back onto the floor; big mistake. The bluenette cried, getting up at once.
Hah, I guess that's payback- even though he wasn't the one to give the key. A blueberry with a wet butt.
"Oh, shut up. What's more important right now, getting back home, or wet boxers?"
"You're not a man, so you don't know!" Jellal said, whining, and I rolled my eyes. Leave it to him to cry over getting wet, rather than focus on our lives. That too, after getting kissed!
Why do I even like him, again?
"Stop sounding like Elfman," I commanded, standing up, and typing my hair up into a ponytail. I went over to the patch of rain, to clear my head, and came out doused.
"Y'know," Jellal purred, making me brace myself for one of his stupid pick-up lines, "I like your shirt."
I immediately looked down and found it see-through. Just another thing to mess up my day.
"Shut up, you pervy idiot. We need to get out of here."
"You're weird." he commented, "What girl stops being romantic just after kissing the Jellal Fernandes?"
"Erza Scarlet, actually."
"Fair point."
I ignored the unhelpful man and decided to move away from the cave-mouth, well, whatever was left of it. The pile-up of stone that had closed to mouth seemed a little dangerous.
As I ventured, I discovered that there was some kind of passageway, leading deeper into the cave. For all I knew, it seemed safer than out there, and there might even be an exit, at the end.
"Yo, Fernandes!" I yelled, "Get your butthole here,"
With thunderous footsteps, Jellal appeared at my side. "You found an exit?" his excitement and relief made me wince; He wasn't going to be happy.
"Um... Not exactly," I cut into his sentence, "But we could explore more! Riiiiiight~?"
He seemed less than pleased, "I don't know, we could always try to move the rocks at the entrance."
I considered his point, glancing back at the ex-entrance. The rocks seemed to be precariously piled on top of the other, remnants of what were amazing stalactites. It would be easy to clear it out, however, one of us would need to take the risk of causing a rockfall - virtually dangerous.
I looked back and raised an eyebrow.
Jellal sighed, "I guess not." he began to follow the narrow tunnel, "Follow me, m'lady."
I snorted, stepping ahead of him instead.
~~~
"I told you this was a bad idea!" Jellal sat down on the rocky floor.
"I don't remember such a thing!" I retaliated, plopping down next to him. "Besides, would you have wanted to sit in that cave all day? It's probably filled with water by now."
One.
Two.
Three.
"The cave!" We yelled in unison, looking nervously back along the tunnel. It was dark, we had been walking for at least a couple of hours, with nothing more than a box of matches, and my shirt lighting our path.
Jellal had said that my shirt was drier than his, so we had to use it. He even went as far as unbuttoning it for me.
I'm sure he only said that for benefits.
"W-we'll worry about that, later." I gulped, "Besides, it's probably quite far behind, by now."
Jellal nodded, gravely. "Alright."
We walked another couple of steps until I registered his whimpering.
"What now?" I irritatedly asked, regretting it instantly as I saw his face.
"I- I need to pee." He whispered, sending heat sprawling across my cheeks; I turned around, not wanting to invade his privacy. It was the first proper stop we had taken since we'd set out, and I realized just how tired I was, from the day.
"We should rest soon," I said, and Jellal whistled back in response. I tried not to get flustered at the sound of him undoing his fly, "It's probably night, now."
No response.
I walked on further, not wanting to be too close to Jellal, as he did this. Not only would it weird, but also uncomfortable. His voice, though, stopped me.
"Um, Erza?"
"Y-yeah?"
"I- I... My boxers are stuck."
"What?!"
