Chapter XV

I was lost in my thoughts; It was a rainy, Tuesday afternoon, and the class - which, fortunately, had been P.E - had been canceled.

   "Dorm, sweet, dorm," I whispered to nobody in particular, as I thrust the key into the lock, and swung open the door. Complete silence. That's what greeted me.

   At first, I thought that lil' Blueberry was trying to prank me; He had claimed that the last time. And, the last time, he had been stuck in the toilet, unable to open the door.

   I'd do anything to see the look on his face as I had opened the door so easily, again!

   "Truce!" I yelled, and put up my hands, my keys jingling as they hung limply on my finger. Oh boy, if he's not here, people will think I'm crazy.

   "Oh, well, no cake for you!" I sighed, feeling quite lonely indeed, and placed my rucksack on the couch. There was no familiar bluenette there, either. The cushions were placed exactly where I had put them, the previous night.

   My shoulder slumped, I made my way to the kitchen, and pried open the door of the fridge. The dorm was amazing and all, but the fridge sucked. Literally. Inside... lay a slice of Strawberry cake.

   Why you... as soon as I get my hands on you, Fernandes!

   I closed my eyes and made my hand into a fist. I need to calm down, quickly. Grabbing a porcelain plate from the cupboard, I scooped the last slice of my stock and sat down on the island.

   I need to concentrate on homework - h-he should be back, soon enough.

   I was wrong. There was not even a trace of the guy, and my worries deepened with the darkening color of the horizon. Was he dead, or something? I sighed, once again. I've been sighing a lot, lately.

   "Mystogan... He might- he might've done something!" my eyes widened, but I knew that couldn't have been the cause. The vexatious rascal probably wouldn't want his hair to be ruined by the rain.

   "You know what... I'm going to find him!" I declared to myself and fist-pumped the air. I remembered that I had packed an umbrella in my suitcase when I was preparing to come here. Not caring about my unfinished Music homework, I slammed the door and went out.

   "Erza! Erza! Where ya' going?" A ball of pink exploded in my face, and I resisted the urge to punch him.

   "Oh, Nasty- I mean, Natsu. I'm- I'm just... going." I looked up at the ceiling, self-consciously.

   "Oh, great! Luce and I were going, too!" He grinned, showcasing his famous canines, "She'll be here any moment now, Lu-!"

   I quickly put my hand over his mouth, "No- no," I swallowed. I'm going to regret this, "I-I'm going on a date, with..."

   "Oh!" A blush coated his face, and he blinked several times in apology, "Hehe, I hope you, er, enjoy!" He seemed flustered as he swiftly ran away. Am I actually that scary?

   Shaking my head, I continued on my way outside, passing many people I knew, and hurriedly waving, I gulped as thunder echoed ominously, shaking the curtains of the windows of the building.

   I swear to god Jellal, if you're outside, I will personally murder you for making me do this!

   "Mavis, please don't say I'll die today!"

   Master Makarov waved at me, as I pushed open the doors, and went out. Opening my umbrella to protect myself from the thundering rain. The smell of rain and fresh grass flooded my nostrils, and I relaxed.

   See, Erza! This isn't that bad, this is gr-

   Just at that moment, the rain started falling in greater quantity, and even my umbrella couldn't help me further.

   With a face of annoyance, I ran out, shivering with the cold. Ignoring my instincts, which were practically yelling at me to turn around, and take a nice, hot soak in the tub, I continued. At every flash of blue, my heart started to race. The few times, of course, I wasn't lucky.

   Luck's never on my side, these days.

   "Erza? Is that you?" I jumped at the sound of a husky, deep voice. I knew that voice extremely well.

   "J-Jellal?!"

   "So it is you." He sighed, as I turned around. Jellal was thoroughly soaked through, the hue of his hair at least six times darker, than usual, "I- I thought you might come."

   Did you, now?

   "That's nice..." That's when I suddenly embraced the fact that he probably had been soaking for a good hour, judging by the look of his appearance, "You're going to catch a cold, Fernandes!"

   "I like the rain."

   "Go tell that to Gray, he'll kill you." I chuckled and walked up to him so we shared the umbrella. As I got closer, I noticed that he was shivering, and his lips were slightly blue.

   "You idiot, c' mon." I draped an arm around his back, disregarding how chilled his clothes felt. While also ignoring that his shirt was practically see-through.

   "I'll fill up the hot-tub for you, you need it," I attempted to good-humorly sneer, however, he smirked back at me and I realized my mistake. Erza, you actual Baka!

   "Someone's eager, eh?"

   "Shut up."

   "Yes, Ma'am."

   Despite my slip-up, I smiled. At least he was back, and back to normal.

~~~
   "Are you done yeeeeettttt~"
   Ten, god-forsaken minutes. That's how long I've been enduring this kid. As soon as we were back in the safety of our dorm, he had begun to complain about how cold he felt.
   "'Should've thought of that before going out!" I yelled back, as he glanced into the bathroom once again. The tub was taking painstakingly forever to fill. I still don't understand him; one moment, he's all cocky and arrogant. The next, he's acting like a kid. Oh, not just any kid, a kid from the pits of Hell.
   "C' mon! It's been hours!" He came in and settled himself on the toilet seat, which, presently had the cover down.
   "Ugh."
   "Can you wash my hair?" He pleaded, with a pout on his face. I faced him and noticed that his shirt had vanished, and his trousers too. Trying to be 'seductive', eh?
   "No."
   "Pweaaaaaaaase~?"
   "No."
   "I'll tell Mira!"
   "No."
   "I'll treat you to cake."
   "...Ok."
   The cake was my true weakness; like Gray was to Juvia. He chuckled and grinned at me, and I rolled my eyes, sticking out my tongue.
   "You do realize that it's overflowing now, right?" He muttered, with a lop-sided smile, and I quickly glanced back at the tub.
   "Shoot! Shoot-shoot-shoot!" I leaped towards it and turned it off. However, my journey wasn't quite so lucky; I had managed to dump a bar of soap in, as well as myself.
    "This is going to be funnnnnn~"
