chapter 5
11:00 AM
At this time on a normal summer day, I'd be up having lunch with my family.
My dad would complain about every single thing in town. My mom would be feeding my sister and calming my dad. My younger brother would be trying to talk to be about things I like to catch my attention, but I would give him no more than a pat on the back.
ever since I got in here, I've been thinking about every detail in the past.
Every detail including the flashbacks I wished to forget. Nothing seems to be helping me with forget the events of that night.I just keep everything bottled up.
Guilt came in waves and some days I would be fighting for air.
James and I headed inside after a few hours of sitting out on the benches and talking about all kinds of things.
It was time for us to take our medicine and daily check up. Not all of us took medicine, but we all went through the daily check ups.
Just as we entered the huge waiting room, in which you wait for your turn to get your daily check up, my eyes met a familiar pair of hazel brown eyes for the second time today.
She smiled brightly at me and I returned one, I probably pulled off the 'joker smile'.
After half an hour, I entered my psychiatrist, Dr.Williams's office.
" Maddison would you hand Liam his medicine" Dr.William said as he scribbled something onto his notepad.
Maddison, that was her name.
She shook her head and headed towards the cabinet full of pills. her light brown hair, that reached midway through her back, moved side to side while she walked.
Dr.Williams was too busy taking a phone call in the corner of the room where his desk was when Maddison approached me.
" here you go" she said extending the 'o'
I chuckled , "if I wasn't looking I'd think I was receiving a prize"
" Have you ever heard of positivity"
"No, not in this place"
"Then take your medicine, improve, and hurry out of here" she chuckled while handing me a small container with several pills in them.
"You make it sound easy"
" It's only difficult if you believe it is"
"Why're you even wasting your summer break here, i mean-"
"Okay kids don't get too excited now" Dr.Williams butted in.
slowly my attention drifted from Dr.Williams' to Madison. I knew he was talking to me about my health, sleep schedule, medicine and progress from catching several key words but i was too distracted to focus with him.
For some reason, I found myself concentrating on Maddison's moves. all her actions seemed way too familiar. I found a connection between her moves and another's I admired.
From the way she furrowed her eyebrows, confused with the Doctor's handwriting to the way she crossed her arms in defeat.
