Burritos

The smell of lasagna swirls in the air as Katie pulls a fresh lasagna out of the oven. A girl bends over the counter where three lasagnas were already laid. "Ah, Katie you're a lifesaver! Thank you so much for coming in early" The Lady said now walking over to Katie who puts the last lasagna on the table.

"Anything for you Jade" Katie said, "by the way where is your mom?  Doesn't she run this place?" Jade took a seat in the kitchen beside Katie. Jade shrugged "She had a campaign thing going on. You know her she is obsessed with becoming mayor." Katie heard a knock at the door which was weird because they don't open till later. Katie opens the door to be faced with three people.

"Oh by the way we got new volunteers," Jade said laughing a bit. Katie moved away from the door allowing the new people to walk in. "Really? Couldn't tell me earlier?" Katie asked giving Jade a soft punch when she walked back into the kitchen. "They're not going to be here long it's for school," Jade said in a whisper to her best friend.

"Hey! I'm Mary Jane, you can just call me MJ" The only girl in the group said pointing to herself. She then pointed to the boys next to her who were cute. "This is Peter and Harry" Katie looked at Jade who was smiling at the three. "Great! You already know me, I'm Jade, and this is Katie" Jade Singled them to come into the kitchen and then pointed to the side door. "The clean-up crew is in there, Go introduce yourselves." Jade said, "It's polite," with a smile eyeing the group.

A couple of hours later they are in the thick of it. Peter, Katie, and Jade were working the food line. Peter was awkward around Katie making the atmosphere weird. "Hey, Bugs for brain you didn't put on the right time," Jade yelled. The Soup Kitchen was short on volunteers that day they didn't have any of their usual workers.

Peter jumped at that nickname and gave Jade a weird look. Before he could say anything Katie jumped in. "Don't worry she calls everyone that when she gets stressed out," Katie said putting her hand on Peters's shoulder causing him to smile. "You go to Midtown High right?" Peter gave her a short nod as he gave out food.

"I'm transferring there soon it would be nice if I already had some friends you know?" Peter looked up from the food Close to saying something but got shortly interrupted. "Katie! There was an Oopies daisy, help?" A worker said their clothes were covered in water and junk. "Coming, clean off and take my spot," Katie said then turned to the guy beside her while you can hear Jade's frustrated grunts as she tries to fix the oven. "I'll talk to you later, good luck with Jade,"

'Always getting interrupted,' Peter thought watching Katie walk away. "Last time I checked, checking out Katie wasn't your job," Jade said slightly shoving Peter with his arm. "What! No, Why would I be checking her out??"

Katie walked into the washroom to see water all over the floor and one teen in the middle. Harry Osborne. He was handsome, charming, and seemed kind enough. He gave Katie an almost helpless look. "hey um sorry?" He laughed scratching the back of his neck. Katie held in a laugh as she grabbed a rag and made her way to the taller guy. "I'm Harry," He said as she got closer to his face. "I know, you introduced yourself earlier." She mumbled with a small laugh. She put the rag to his face wiping off the water. "oh... yeah." He said his eyes not letting go of hers.

Katie was now making her way to the roof of her apartment thinking of the last couple of days. "I haven't seen Jamie in a while.." She thought out loud as she sat on the stone edge. "Who's Jamie?" Spider-Man landed perfectly on the edge of the building. "Don't worry about him and focus on me instead." She put a book on his lap "That's why you're here isn't it?"

"where is my food"

"geez so greedy" he looked at the city, She tossed a wrapped-up burrito at his face. It slowly fell leaving beans on his suit. Katie held a laugh as she got away from the edge. "Nice throw."

"Nice catch Spider-Man." Katie tugged at his arm to get off the edge. "Come with me, Can't having you save people's lives if it looks like you have a poop stain" Katie see his face but she felt his eye roll.

Katie walked back to the edge and pointed down to a window "You can meet me down there." After she said that she ran toward the door. Spider-man sighed and jumped off of the building.

Katie rushed down the stairs and once she got to her apartment she saw someone standing by the door. "We'll speak of the devil" She snickered It was Jamie. Jamie looked up at Katie with a pleading look. "I'm in trouble, Katie."

Spider-Man flipped through the window and landed in what seemed like Katie's room. It wasn't too big, she had some of those old box TVs and an older bed. He sat down on the bed he looked at the two pictures on her nightstand.

One of them was Katie and Jade. The other one was two adults and one little Katie. Spider-man sighed and looked up at the ceiling. Which was covered with posters and glow-in-the-dark stars on top of them.

Spidey held in a laugh seeing a poster of him with glow-in-the-dark stars outlining it. "You know I don't get paid for the merchandise," He said when he heard the door open. Katie threw a rag on top of his face "Two things one, get off of my bed with bean face. Two, you can to the bathroom to wash it off" Katie said crossing her arms.

"Okay, Okay, is this really how you treat your favorite superhero," He said mockingly while walking into the bathroom. The bathroom has two doors one in the hallway where the living room and other bedroom was. Of course the other lead to Katie's room. Spider-man Locked one door and realized the other That led to Katie's room didn't lock.

He took a moment to think it over and place a kid's step stool in front of the door. He knew that wouldn't do anything but it helped him feel better. He thought about putting webs on the door but that would be a huge mess and Katie would be beyond mad.

He took off his mask and ran it under the water. "Who were the people in the photo?" He asked trying to make conversation. Katie sighed and sat beside the door "My best friend Jade... She moved out of here a couple of months ago"

They sat in silence the only noise was water from the sink. "And what about the other people.." There was another pause. Spider-man was drying off his mask with the rag and he sat down next to the door. "They were my parents."

"were?" He asked his face leaning towards the door. "Do you want my whole life story while we are at it?" She said with a slight laugh. "I mean we have the time" He laughed with her. He knew she didn't want to talk about the second picture so he moved on.

"Okay, so midtown high... any friends yet?" Katie shrugged and then remembered that he couldn't see her. "Not really, I met three people from there today but we aren't really  friends."

"Who are they?"

"I doubt you know them"

"You would be surprised"

Katie laughed a bit, "Of course you are the amazing spider-man" He smiled when she says that, "Such sweet words from an adoring fan"

"Can it?" She said laughing harder, "Harry Osborn... He was cute and sweet and funny..." Spider-man hummed to her answer. "He sounds great.."

"He seems to be.. but I also met this guy named Peter. I didn't talk to him as much as Harry. He was cute though kinda meek and shy... I think my friend has a thing for him" she said with a laugh thinking about how Jade was giving him a hard time.

Spider-Man put his mask back on and opened the bathroom door seeing Katie sit down just like he was. He took a seat right beside her.

"Don't you have to go save the city"

"Don't you have to study"
