Leaf's POV

Everyone has been acting weird all day. I wanna know why. The girls won't look me in the eyes when talking to me and the guys are just avoiding us. I want to know if it's because all the girl had fights with their boyfriends or what. I highly doubt it though. After school, we went over to Dawn's house for band practice. The boys were there and then suddenly it was only Gary and me. 

Did they ditch us or something? I looked around when suddenly the light dimmed. We did this for rehearsal so what's going on. I looked up onto our makeshift stage and saw that Gary was up on the stage. I was shocked when I saw he was holding a bouquet of flowers. Orange lilies, to be exact. They were quite rare and they were also my favorite flowers. Gary walked up to me with what seemed like the moving spotlight on him. 

He knelt down on one knee and took my hand. He slipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a box. Inside was a necklace. I looked at it curiously and he smiled. "It says I love you in over a 100 hundred different languages." I looked into his eyes and mine started tearing up. "Would you mind going on a date with me? Give me the honor to be yours for just one night?" I smiled and nodded, speechless. He got up and put the necklace around my neck.

Applause erupted from all corners of the room. The lights turned back on and I saw all of our friends just gathered there. They seemed so happy for us. I laughed. So this was what was going on with them today. I looked up at Gary who was hugging me from behind. "So, where's this date gonna be?" Gary looked down at me before bopping my nose. "You'll just have to wait and see."

I frowned. I saw Dawn leaning back into Paul's arms who was leaning against a wall. May was standing beside Drew with his arm around her shoulder. Misty was sitting on Ash's lap who was sitting on one of the beanbag chairs we had. 

"Let's take a break from all this singing practice and just watch movies! The boys went up the stairs to start the popcorn while the girls picked out a good movie. They finally settled on Dragon Cry. (Who else gets this reference?) We settled down on either beanbags or the loveseats. The final layout was that Paul and Dawn got one loveseat while Gary and I got the other. The others were sitting on beanbags on the floor. Each couple was sharing a bowl of popcorn and a drink. 

Timeskip (A few days later)

I had a blindfold on and Gary was hanging onto my hand. I was a bit skeptical at first since ever since I first met Gary, he has always been the clumsy type. Gary led me up a bumpy sidewalk path until when we finally came to a stop, I could feel that we were on some type of hill.

The blindfold was taken off and it revealed a picnic scenario with a candle on the middle of the blanket. I looked closer and saw it was a fake battery powered candle. I looked at Gary and he scratched the back of his neck. "I didn't want to set fire to the blanket or something." I giggled and let Gary lead me to my seat. 

After dinner, the sun was starting to set. Gary looked at me and took my hand. I looked at him and he took in a deep breathe. "Leaf, will you be my girlfriend?" I smiled and nodded. He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed back. When we finally pulled away, he smiled and kissed the top of my head. We looked at the sun setting on this perfect day. 

We just sat there for another hour or so just sitting comfortably gazing up at the stars while kissing each other.

That was a short chapter. I thought it would be longer. I'll try updating more but sometimes school doesn't let me. I'm in all honors with extra activities. I'm sorry if you were expecting a longer chapter. I'm trying. Really.

The question is going to be a bit like the last one. I want to know you guys more.
