Dawn's POV

I woke up to see that it was a Sunday and we had to put our plan into action today. The doorbell rang and when I looked through the peephole, I saw Paul standing there. I started freaking out because I still had my bed hair. Drew came down looking sleepy. I probably woke him up with all of my racket.

I told him to let Paul inside while I went upstairs to fix my bed head. I ran up the stairs to get Piplup's Pokeball. As I was about to call her out, Paul opened the door and walked in. I screamed and yelled at him to get out. Instead, he smiled and hugged me. "I will love you despite how you look. I think you look wonderful right now." I smiled at him before releasing Piplup. I told Piplup to use Bubble Beam on my hair. Soon enough, my hair was fixed.

When I was done, I looked up and Paul and he smiled gently and shook his head. "Okay. All done. Now what do you want?" Paul looked taken aback. "You mean I can't come over to see my girlfriend without a reason?" I smiled and stood up to hug him. "Of course not. You can see me anytime you want." I leaned in and kissed him. He kissed back and we stood in my bathroom kissing. That was until Drew came in. Ugh! I hate you, Drew!

He looked at us and smirked. "Mom and Dad want you in the dining room for breakfast. You too, Paul." Then he walked out. Paul turned to me. "I hate it when he interrupts our moments like that." I giggled. "I do too."

As we walked down the stairs, I told Paul that my dad didn't know  that we were dating. His reaction was priceless seeing as how Paul almost never shows emotions around others.

When we walked into the dining room, Paul and I were holding hands. My dad looked really shocked but still let Paul sit down and eat breakfast with us.

We were silently eating breakfast when my dad brought up the unwanted conversation. "So, what's going in with you and Paul, Dawn?" "Umm. Well. You see. We're. Umm. Kinda. Dating?"

My step-dad got really angry at this. He pointed a butter knife at Paul. "What makes you think you're worthy enough of my daughter." My mom quickly stood up to calm him down. "Dear, it's perfectly fine. They grew up together and practically know each other inside and out."

Drew stood up and helped restrain his father. "Dad! It's okay! I trust Dawn with Paul so it's perfectly fine!" My dad sat down and just stared at Paul while he looked at me uncomfortably. I leaned over to whisper into his ear. "He's really overprotective. You're going to have to deal with it."

Paul just kept staring at me. He quickly finished his breakfast and excused himself to my room. After I finished my  breakfast, I joined him in my room. He was sitting on my bed and staring at the wall. I giggled and sat down next to him. "Are you okay, darling?"

He nodded and I pushed him over onto my bed. He smirked at me and I kept on kissing him. Eventually he pushed me up off of him. I stared at him. "I-I have something I need to tell you." He's never looked so serious around me before. "What is it?" "I don't know how to break this to you. P-please promise me you'll stick by my side no matter what." "Of course. What is it?" "Promise me!" "I-I promise that I'll stick by your side no matter what. Now what's going on Paul? You're starting to scare me." "Dawn. I-I might be diagnosed with cancer. The doctor said I have a 5% chance to live."
