Chapter Four: Desperate for Your Help

"What are we gonna do with Romeo?" Rose asks Matteo while snaking her arms around his wonderfully fit body.

"We're gonna kill him. I mean, we will have to. Regardless him being a child, Romeo is still a Montague." Lord Alessandro suggested. There was a sudden hint of regret in Rose's eyes, but she quickly washed it away before the Capulets even noticed. Romeo was just a child and killing one would haunt her for the rest of her life. Especially if that child was Romeo. She has known Romeo since he was born and she treated him like a little brother. Rose suddenly scoffs at the thought as soon as she realized how pathetic that sounds. Why should she pity a child? Let alone someone she's back stabbed.

"No. Don't kill him." Matteo speaks up. "Look at him cowering in fear. I mean the boy is practically pissing himself!" He laughs.

"Let's not kill him. He won't do any harm to anyone. The boy has nothing. He will start as nothing; he will become nothing. Romeo never took the Montague name seriously like his sister and parents. From my understanding, Sofia forbids that he would learn the old ways of how their family worked. Romeo knows nothing of what a Montague is and he will never become one. So let's not waste our time in such a harmless puppy."

After their discussion, Matteo sends out one of his guards to come and fetch the child. Romeo continues to cry in his prison and the sounds of the doors unlocking startled him. He was terrified of what they will do to him and how his little life will end. Everything unimaginable came across his mind that a 7 year old shouldn't think of. He wanted everything to be back with the way they were. Most importantly, he wanted his big sister back.

A brawny looking man in a black tuxedo pulls Romeo up and drags him out of the miserable cell. "No! Let go!" Romeo cries out, but was greeted with a hard slap across the face. The boy looked at the man shocked. His lip started to bleed and he spits the metallic taste on the wall.

A sudden glint of anger started to build up in the boy. Every time he passed by every single guard in the building, he wanted to kill each and every one of them one by one. He wanted all of them to suffer like how his family suffered. If ever he makes it out alive, he will make sure that the Capulets will pay for what they had done. Especially Matteo and Rosalita. Oh, Rosalita. She has been a part of the Montague family since he can remember. How could a woman become such a back stabbing little bitch? He thought. Was in the money? No. Impossible. For all he knew, Rosalita is the daughter of a viscount back in Spain. Wouldn't that make her more powerful than the Montagues and the Capulets? Romeo suddenly felt sad. He couldn't believe that his sister's best friend would stab them in the back like this. The Montague family treated hger like family. Rose was not the same woman Romeo grew up with. You, too, will pay Rosalita. Romeo says in his mind.

Romeo and the guard continued to walk the lonely halls until they stopped right in front of a giant, red wooden door with golden colored handles. This used to be his father's office. No one was ever allowed to set foot in here unless it meant business. The guard knocks on the door three times and waited a few seconds until they heard someone on the other side. "Come in." The voice demanded.

The guard opens the door and pushes Romeo inside the room. In the center of the office lay a long, oak table. Behind it was a man in his late 40s sitting down on the leather chair. He stares at Romeo. His eyes did not hold any ounce of emotion. The man just stares at him and it creeped Romeo. "So you're the little Montague that was supposed to lead your house in the future."

"I... I just want to go home." Romeo hiccups. The anger that he once felt and the determination of annihilating the entire Capulet family drained out of him. He was back into being the scared little puppy that had his tail between his legs.

The man started roaring in laughter and does his best to compose himself. He wipes off a fake tear on his eye. "Boy, what home? There's no one here to greet you. Not your mother, your father, and your slutty sister." Romeo glares at the man and balls his hands into a fist until his knuckles turn white.

"Oh?" The man days amusingly. "So little Romeo does have the pride of a Montague in him. This will be a problem in the future." He runs his chin with his thumb.

"Father." Matteo interrupts. "You don't have to worry about him. He may be born a Montague, but he doesn't have to have the title of a Lord. We now own the Montague estates and its riches, while Romeo has nothing but just its name." He assures the man he calls his own father. Lord Capulet glares at his own son. He always knew that the boy had a soft heart. He knew that his own flesh and blood nearly fell in love with the Sofia Montague, yet he made sure his son did not make the same mistake he himself did nearly 20 years ago.

What is up with this fucked up cursed of a love that the Montagues and the Capulets always seem to have?! Lord Capulet told himself while rubbing his  hand down his face.

"Boy, you better be right about this!" He threatens his son.

"Believe me, father. Does that 7 year old terrified child look capable of doing anything to us?" Matteo laughs to himself and shakes his head.

"Just throw him in an orphanage, especially since he has no one." He smirks at the poor child and with that, left the room together with his father.

As soon as Matteo and his father left the room, all that was left was Lord Alessandro. He didn't like the idea of keeping Romeo alive and he is bound to do anything to make sure the child doesn't exist in the world. He sat on one of the leather chairs and thought this thoroughly, until an idea came to mind. He grins at his evil thoughts. He looks at one of the guards that stood by the door and requests for him to come over.

The guard quickly comes to his aid and kneels. "Take Romeo to a far place and end his life." The guard was taken aback. He wanted to say something, but he held his tongue knowing that he himself will be dead if he talked back at his boss.

"Make sure that they never find the body. It will bring chaos in Verona and the royals will most likely push their nose into our business."

The guard hesitated at first. "As you wish, sir."

The guard who brought him in the office pulled him out. He lead him outside the Montague home and inside a black mustang. "Get in there!" He pushes the child inside the back seat and approaches the drivers seat to start driving.

"Where are you taking me?" Romeo asks sadly as he looks down at his dirtied, bloodied shoes.

The guard looked at Romeo from his rear view mirror and tries not to pity the child. He remains silent, avoiding any eye contact or conversation with him. That is until Romeo asked a very difficult question to answer.

"Why didn't you guys just kill me? Just so that I can be with daddy, and mommy... and Sofia." Romeo started to sniffle. Tears started to fall from his eyes and he wipes it off, but no matter how much he tries to wipe them away, they just couldn't stop falling.

The child's sniffling cry turns to loud mourning. "I... I wanna see Sofia!" He cried some more.

"Oh, will you just shut the fuck up already boy?!" The guard slams his breaks and yelled at him. Romeo falls forward, hitting his head on the seat.

"I'm sorry. I'm only doing my job. I have a family to feed." He says softly.

"If I do not do my job, Lord Alessandro will kill me and my family." The guard continued. "If I had a choice, it would be to keep you all alive."

Romeo looked at the poor man amusingly. Never has he had a nice conversation with a Capulet or an associate since the wedding massacre.

"But one thing's for sure, I won't make a mistake with what I am about to do now." The guard looks at him with a smile and continues to drive.

The drive was long and quiet and after a few more hours, he stopped in front of a mansion. Yes, the Montague estate was the best of all of Verona, but this home was much more magnificent and modern. The land was huge and guarded with a cemented fence and metal spikes. There were two guards guarding the entrance with heavy guns.

"Who goes there?!" The guard demands as he gets ready his gun. The man steps out of the car and reveals who he was.

"Oh, Mercutio. It's just you." The guard puts his gun down.

"I'm here to see the Prince." Romeo's eyes widen in disbelief. This is the Prince's house?! He thought.

"Very well." The guard says, but before letting us in, he looks inside the back passenger of the car. "And who is he?"

"This is basically what I need to discuss with the Prince." The man named Mercutio says.

At first, the guard looked at Romeo questioning, but later tells his partner to open the gates. The guard radios someone from the walkie talkie attached to his shoulder. "Inform the Prince that Mercutio is here."

They drove pass the gates and all the way to the mansion. It truly was magnificent. They both got down the car. Mercutio gave the keys to the valet and lead the boy inside the Prince's home.

On the entrance of the mansion stood a tall man of 6'5". He had long, dark brown hair that fell a little pass his shoulders. "Mercutio." The man opens his arms into a big embrace.

"My Prince." Mercutio bows.

"Now, come on my cousin! Give me a big hug! It's been quite a long time since we've seen each other." Mercutio smiles and hugs the Prince.

After their hug, the Prince's eyes landed curiously on little Romeo. "Oh? Is this your son?" He looked surprised.

Mercutio had become nervous all of a sudden. He never lies to his distant cousin, especially if that cousin was the Prince of Verona himself!

"Mercutio?" The Prince looks at him with a curious gaze.

"My dear cousin. I... I did something terribly wrong and I am in desperate  need of your help." Mercutio shivers in fear as he wonders what the Capulets would do to him and his family if they find out what he is about to do to poor, little Romeo.
