XX: Sending love and daggers
"Grandma!" The ten year old shouted urgently.
"What is it?!" The Grandmother said, looking up from washing the dishes filled with worry.
"There aren't any more pages left to the story! Is that the end?" She said desperately.
"It's only the beginning. Come with me, we can continue the story together in the living room."

It was February 14th at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. On this day, many students were jumping with joy whilst others were moping around the castle, hiding with a group of equally unloved friends. For Lily Evans, it meant that she would be ambushed by her new boyfriend with cards, chocolates, kisses and pranks involving a love potion. She didn't mind it, actually, because she knew that he was completely lovestruck. In a sense, she actually enjoyed the attention.
For Remus Lupin, it meant no cards and no one to hang around with for the whole day because the others would be chasing after girls. Peter would be stalking Dorcas and building up enough courage to ask her out and give her his card. Sirius, on the other hand, would be on his own because he could barely spend a minute with his current girlfriend without someone eyeing them or Rita sneaking up on them together. Remus may be spending the day with Sirius after all.
The day started off with James rolling onto the floor with a thud and running out of the dorm room clutching armfuls of cards and presents. He ran out unknowingly in his Gryffindor boxer shorts. Sirius started laughing, waking Peter up but Remus would never wake up. Even if Hogwarts was under attack, he would still be sleeping.
"Shall we wake up a sleeping Moony?" Sirius asked Peter.
"Go ahead if you want the floorboards to be stained red." Peter said groggily.
"Good point but either way, blood will be shed with Remus. Remember the morning I didn't wake him up?"
Peter nodded uneasily.
"Exactly, so either way I'm doing the wrong thing."
"I guess you're right. Do you want to go and see what James is doing with Lily? Who knows, when we get down to the Great Hall, we may find some Valentines for us!" Peter said excitedly.
Sirius shrugged and pulled on his uniform. He took out his Gryffindor tie and put it around his head because, at six in the morning, he couldn't be bothered to tie it properly. Peter hastily did up his shirt buttons and pulled on his jumper and robes.
"Come on!" Peter urged.
"Well, someone's a bit eager!" Sirius laughed.
Peter went red but started to run down the stairs of their dorm room nonetheless. Sirius rolled his eyes playfully and followed on behind Peter. He met Frank with Alice and gave them both a small, awkward wave before carrying on his journey to the Great Hall with his school bag, in with he had a letter for Juliet. It was very sickly sweet, nothing he would usually write, but nothing about their relationship was usual. He took it out of his back and opened it.
Dear Juliet,
I didn't know the best way to express myself in this letter because you are indescribable. I would insult a Hippogriff for you, I would become a blood traitor again (if that's even possible). Ever since I first met you, I became lovestruck because of your personality, your looks, everything. This is a terrible analogy but I thought it was quite amusing. Couples are like butt cheeks. Shit separates them but they eventually come back together.
I'm sorry, I'll try and be Sirius from here on out. Actually, I think I'm finished. I literally have no idea what to say about you because you are my one true love. I just...I guess all I can say is that I love you to the moon and back. I've got these feelings for you and I can't help myself no more. Remember me, mystery girl.
Love, yours truly x
Sirius revealed the letter and slipped it back into his bag so he could go and deliver it at the owlery later. Once he reached the Great Hall, he sat down next to Gideon Prewett.
"Hey, got any Valentines yet?" Gideon asked.
"Unfortunately, no." Sirius said.
"Oh really, I thought a dashing gentleman like yourself would get plenty of those things. I remember in third year when-"
"When I got a mountain of cards, we all know the story so there's no need to repeat it." Sirius said.
"What's gotten into you?"
"Girls."
Gideon laughed and waved his brother over. They then quickly switched the topic from girls to Quidditch and pranks, much more interesting topics. Suddenly, two owls came sweeping down onto the Gryffidnor table. One could be distinguished as a Hogwarts owl whilst the other was very sleek and was standing as tall as possible. Sirius took both of the letters from their beaks and began to open one.
"Sirius!" James yelled from across the Hall.
"What?" He shouted back.
"Come over here, I have an awesome prank idea for later! Bring Fabian and Gideon with you too, they'll come in handy." James yelled and several people tensed around the Hall, especially the Slytherins.
Sirius rolled his eyes and stood up from the table along with Peter and the Prewett brothers. Rita, sipping pumpkin juice at the Ravenclaw table, almost choked when she saw him leave. She scuttled across the floor to the Gryffindor table and started laughing quietly. She took the letters and ran out of the Hall as quickly as little legs would take her.
"So what letters did you get?" Martha asked eagerly with Thimble at her side.
"One from Paris..." Juliet groaned, ripping the wax seal open and snorting at the letter that he had written.
He had chosen to write on pink-stained parchment and to throw a few petals into the envelope to add to the Vakentines effect. She started laughing to herself whilst Thimble looked across the Hall dreamily at Paris.
Dearest Julie, It began.
My name's Juliet, she thought to herself.
Whenever I see you, feelings of love rush though me and it hurts me physically and emotionally to be away from you for any length of time. Since I first met you, you have been my one and only and I can only hope that we'll have a good life together in the future as husband and wife.
Love, your dearest Paris Lockhart xxx
"I think I'm going to be sick..." Juliet told Martha, handing her the letter.
"Isn't he handsome? You're so lucky, Julie." Martha said sarcastically.
"So you agree with me? You think he's an absolute idiot who's been brainwashed by his parents because of my family?"
"Of course I do! But I'm not so sure Thimble agrees with us..." She giggled.
Juliet looked across at her who was slumped on the table staring at him dreamily.
"Thimble! You can have him, I really don't want him!" Juliet laughed then said quietly. "I have my eyes on someone else..."
"That's an amazing idea, James! Alright, we'll regroup in the Gryffindor common room later and smooth out the details. I think this is gold though, everyone's going to have a right laugh!" Sirius smirked.
He slumped back onto the bench and continued to open his letters. One was addressed to 'My love' and the other was addressed to 'Sirius Black'. He guessed straight away that the first one was Juliet but he had no idea who the second one was. He put the first aside and began to read. It wasn't a Valentines note but a horrible letter with various expletives. He was surprise by how harsh this person was being. At the end, he found a name.
The name was Juliet White.
There was no mistaking it. She had signed it Corvus but he knew exactly what that meant. He drew out a shaky breath and opened the other letter. He smiled as he read it and looked at the name at the bottom.
Rita Skeeter.
There must have been a mix up. Juliet wouldn't send such a horrible letter to her boyfriend unless she had been told by her parents. Unfortunately, Juliet was one of those people who would obey their parents whatever the case. But she couldn't have, could she?
Juliet didn't matter anyway, all he could think about was Rita. Oh, how beautiful that name sounded when he said it. He needed her. He needed to meet her. He smiled dreamily and then everything went hazy.
The day had gone past and Juliet still hadn't received a Valentines from Sirius which was rather disappointing since they're together. It was now the evening and she hadn't even spoken to him. As she saw James in the Hall getting ready for a prank, she dashed over to him.
"Where's Sirius? I haven't seen him all day." She said worriedly.
"Oh, it's nothing to worry about, you see-"
And then an ear-spitting scream followed. Sirius was leaning against a wall kissing Rita who looked content. James looked slightly scared so he started walking away very slowly. Juliet walked over to Rita and pulled her away from Sirius.
"Not my boyfriend, you bitch!" She shouted.
Juliet let go of Rita and punched her, full force in the face. Sirius gasped and crouched next to her, holding her hand.
"Why did you do that, you monster?" He shouted at her.
Juliet was taken aback and a lump rose in her throat. What had gotten into him lately? What had she done so wrong that made him go off with Rita? She looked at Sirius, eyes brimming with tears and clenched her fist.
"You backstabber."

"I'm afraid that's all for now. The summer is almost over you need to say goodbye to your little friend, Edward I believe?"
"How did you-"
"A Grandma knows everything." She smiled and handed her granddaughter a few more pages to the story.
