What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas

Requested by tainted_dreams. While on the run after civil war, Steve and Natasha elope in Vegas.

Steve and Natasha had been dating for a while now.

They had started their relationship almost as soon as she had found Sam and Steve on the run after the civil war.

Steve had regrets about not telling Natasha how much he loved her so he confessed his feelings to find out that she reciprocated them.

Since then, they had been traveling all over the world to stay hidden.

It was a crazy life, but somehow they still managed to find the quiet moments.

They talked about the future a lot. They knew that a family was unlikely if at all possible possible.

With Natasha being sterile and the government still tracking the couple down, it just wasn't realistic.

But marriage, that was something that could happen.

Steve always promised her that one day, they could finally tie the knot and make it official.

Natasha waited patiently, but even she could only wait so long.

Her patience ran out during their brief stay in Las Vegas. She just didn't know how to tell him she was ready.

Lucky for her, Steve was also tired of waiting.

They were staying at a rundown motel that was filled with bugs and trash, but it was good enough for them.

Sam was already asleep in one of the beds when Steve came out of the shower frowning.

Natasha noticed immediately and furrowed her eyebrows.

"What's up?" She asked.

Steve sat next to Natasha and sighed. "How much longer is it gonna be?" He asked quietly.

Natasha tilted her head slightly, "Until what?"

"Until we can get married. I know we said we would wait until we could have a proper wedding, but how long will that be?"

Natasha bit her lower lip and frowned. "Probably too long."

Steve sighed.

Natasha looked up at Steve and gave him a small smile. "What if we just do it here?"

"What do you mean?" Steve asked, confused.

"I mean that we are in Vegas, we could just elope. It would just be you, me, the pastor, and Sam as a witness. I don't know about you, but for me, that's enough."

Steve couldn't help but smile. "I could marry you in a dump with no one to officiate and it would still be enough. Let's do it."

Natasha beamed. "When?"

"Why not right now? I'll wake up Sam."

"Okay. What about the rings?"

"We can stop on the way and buy them." Steve said. "Actually, why don't you meet us at a chapel and Sam and I will go pick up the rings. It's not midnight yet so we can still follow tradition."

Natasha rolled her eyes. "What tradition."

"I can't see the bride on the day of the wedding."

Natasha smirked, "Fine. I'll text Sam he address when I get there."

They woke up Sam and quickly filled him in on what was happening. Despite being irritated at being woken up, he was excited for his friends.

Natasha grabbed her phone and wallet and grinned at Steve. "See you at the alter." She said, kissing him lightly.

Steve smiled and watched as she left the motel.

He and Sam did the same a few minutes later, in search of two rings.

"Man, where the hell are we gonna find two rings at this hour?"

Steve sighed. "I don't know, just help me look. This is Vegas. Surely some pawn store or something is open this late." Steve reasoned.

Sam rolled his eyes. "I don't know man."

They walked for a few blocks before finally finding a strange pawn shop with dim lighting and a lot of dust.

Steve cautiously walked up the the cashier and rang the little bell used for alerting the clerk.

A small old women came out from the back and smiled. "Hello, can I help you?"

Steve nodded. "Yes, I'm looking for wedding rings. One for a bride and one for the groom."

The old lady pointed at a display near the back of the store and Steve looked at the rings carefully.

He picked out a simple silver band for himself and for Natasha he found a small silver ring with a small diamond on display, surrounded by several small black diamonds.

He couldn't help but picture her wearing it and smile.

"These two." He told the clerk, smiling.

"Lovely choice." She said ringing him up.

Luckily for him, the women gave him a generous discount and the rings didn't cost a fortune.

Once he had aquired the rings, Natasha still hadn't texted him, so he went with Sam to a thrift store were they both got nice suits so that they were a little dressed up.

By then, Natasha had sent them an address.

Steve anxiously sat in the back of the van, excited to finally marry Natasha.

They arrived at the small 24 hour chapel and told the lady working what they were there for.

She led them to a small room where Steve saw Natasha already waiting at a small alter.

"Hey soldier." She said with a grin.

Steve smiled and took in her appearance. She was wearing a short simple white dress that fit her perfectly and made her red hair and green eyes pop.

Natasha smiled at Steve. "You look pretty dapper. Where'd you find this?" She asked, running her hand along his tie.

Steve laughed. "A thrift shop. You, look amazing though."

Natasha shrugged. "Thank you. Now are you ready to do this or what?"

Steve nodded and they told the pastor to begin.

He gave the typical speech, not that either of them were really listening. They were too busy gazing into the others eyes like a couple of love struck teenagers.

"Do you, Natasha Romanoff, take Steven Rogers to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The pastor asked.

Natasha nodded. "I do." She slipped Steve's ring onto his finger and smiled.

"And do you, Steven Grant Rogers, take Natasha to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Steve smiled at Natasha and squeezed her hands, slowly sliding the ring onto her finger.  "I do."

"Then you may kiss the bride."

Steve playfully tipped her over and kissed her passionately. Natasha laughed into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck.

When he put her back upright she held up her hand and smiled. "I like it."

"The ring?" Steve asked.

"Being married to you." She said, smiling.

Sam clapped his hands and hugged them both. "Congrats you two. I'm really happy for both of you. Just don't honeymoon with me in the motel."

Natasha laughed while Steve blushed. "No promises." Natasha said, smirking.

They sighed all the necessary documents and Steve kissed Natasha again. "I love you." He whispered.

Natasha smiled and kissed him back. "I love you too. Now let's get out of here. We've given up our real identities and soon enough the government is gonna find us."

Steve sighed, the quiet moment was gone. "You're right. Let's go."

They changed into their suits and packed up all their clothes, moving out of the small motel and booking yet another train for a whole new destination.

Steve shook his head, looking over at Natasha's ring.

He smiled, at least he got to spend the rest of his life with her. He thought, kissing her forehead gently.

A single quiet moment with her was worth million with someone else.

Hey guys, this was long and kind of factually incorrect on so many levels but I hope you enjoyed.

Let me know what you thought about me including pictures of the outfits, I've never used images in my chapters before but I wanted to give it a try. Do y'all like seeing excactly what they would look like more or do you prefer to picture it yourself.

Besides that, like always, please vote and comment your thoughts!
