Take You Out
I've seen the meme going around where it's talking about the different meanings of take out and had a random desire to write about Natasha telling Steve she's going to take him out and his panic at which type she means.
"Tommorow night Rogers...I'm taking you out." Natasha had said, walking away from Steve after casting her signature smirk at him.
Steve went pale and followed behind her but she was already gone.
Steve felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around to see Tony. "What's up Cap? You look like you just saw a ghost."
"Nat- Natasha. She just said she's going to take me out tomorrow night."
"Like on a date?" Peter chimed up from the other side of the room.
Clint shook his head. "No, she definitely means murder."
Pepper sighed. "Maybe she just meant to go get food."
Steve rubbed his head in distress.
Tony shrugged. "Maybe it's all three."
"Yeah. Great. Thanks for reassuring me."
"Well, what were the circumstances around it? We're you talking before she said it? Did she make any gestures?"
Steve shrugged. "We weren't talking. She just came up behind me and whispered it, then smirked and walked away."
Clint laughed. "Well we might as well plan you're funeral now. What'd you do to piss her off Cap?"
Steve's eyes widened as he searched for an answer to that question. "I don't think anything." He said, still concerned.
Peter and Pepper moved closer to join the conversation and Peter shrugged. "I think she means on a date Captain. Why else would she smile at you?"
Clint scoffed again. "Kid, you clearly don't know Nat that well. Her I love you smile and I'm going to kill you smile are the same."
Peter shrugged. "Why don't you just ask her?"
Pepper nodded. "Sounds like the easiest thing to do."
Tony held up his hands. "I don't understand why we aren't considering that it's all three."
Steve sighed and Clint stood up. "Look, either you wait and find out tomorrow night. Or you go ask her now and look stupid if she really meant just out for food or something. Your choice."
"Wow. Thanks Clint. Really great advice." Steve said, visibility sweating now.
Tony jumped out of his seat and his eyes widened. "Wait. You like Nat. That's why you're so panicked about this. Because you want it to be a date. Not because your afraid she'll kill you."
Steve blushed. "I am definitely afraid that she'll kill me." He said honestly.
Tony rolled his eyes. "Yeah but you care more about whether or not it's a date."
Steve didn't respond. He just rolled his eyes. "Why does it matter which one I want it to be if she means something different."
Tony rolled his eyes. "Jarvis, Where's Agent Romanoff?"
"In her room sir."
Tony thanked him and turned back to Peter. "Hey Pete, wanna make a delivery for me?"
Before Steve could comprehend what was happening, the kid shot webs at him so that Steve's arms and legs were webbed together and he was laying immobile on the ground.
"Where to Mr. Stark?" Peter asked.
"Floor 7, room 702. Just put him outside her door, knock, and run away."
Peter nodded and began to drag Steve to the elevator. "Sorry about this Captain." He said half heartedly.
Steve cursed and tried to break the webs. "Are you really?" He asked as Peter webbed him more so the bond was stronger.
Peter shrugged and dragged him off the elevator, and towards Natasha's room. He set Steve on the ground in front of the door and smiled down at him.
"Good luck Captain." He said, knocking on the door before swinging out of a nearby window.
Steve heard some rustling inside the room and then the door opened to reveal Natasha standing in leggings and a hoodie.
She looked around and almost shut the door again until she noticed Steve laying at her feet.
She couldn't help but laugh a little as he sighed.
"Hi." She said, still standing above him.
"Hi. Mind helping me out?"
"Not at all."
Natasha laughed again and bent down to help Steve. She dragged him inside her apartment and set him down on her bed so that she could undo the webs.
She left him on the bed and left the room only to come back a few minutes later with a knife in her hand.
Steve couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Here he was completely bound by webs with a trained assassin standing over him with a knife. Not to mention she was planning on taking him out. He still wasn't sure if that meant murder.
"Nervous Rogers?" Natasha asked, noticing his flushed face as she came closer to him.
Steve forced a laugh. "Well. You did say you were going to take me out."
Natasha smirked. "Steve, if I wanted to kill you I would have done it a long time ago."
"Thanks?" Steve said, at least relieved that there was now only two possibilities.
"Your welcome. Now tell me, how did you end up in this situation."
"Tony and his kid are meddling again."
Natasha laughed. "In what?"
Steve blushed and tried to think of a reason he would be all tied up at her doorstep.
Natasha slowly cut through some of the webs and raised her eyebrow. "You gonna tell me or just lay there silently?"
"They were trying to meddle in my life again."
"So tell me Captain. Why does that lead to you on my doorstep in a very compromisable situation?"
Steve fidgeted under her gaze and she gently placed her hand on his bicep as she cut more of the webs.
"You want the truth?"
Natasha nodded. "I'd expect nothing less from you."
"Well, I was a little worried about what you meant by take me out. Because as they all so graciously pointed out, it could mean murder, a date, food, or all three."
"And which one did you think it meant?" Natasha said, grinning.
Steve's heart rate sped up and he turned red again. "I didn't have a clue."
Natasha rolled her eyes. "I'll give you a hint. It's not murder. I like you too much to kill you right now. As for the other two, which one did you want it to mean?"
Steve felt like an idiot again as he stuttered over an answer.
Natasha's hand was over his heart now as she finished cutting the last few webs.
"I- I would have preferred the date I suppose."
Natasha grinned. "Well if you would rather I could change it to just mean food..." She teased.
Steve shook his head and sat up, now free from the webs.
"No, a date sounds great. I would love for you to take me out on a date."
Natasha smiled at Steve and helped him stand up, grabbing his hands and pulling him towards her.
Steve nearly collided with her chest and he felt like more and more like a fool with everything he said.
"Well then I'll see you tomorrow. Now get out of my room, I was planning on getting some sleep before you ruined the mood." She joked.
Steve apologized and headed towards the door with a boyish grin.
He hadn't left her bedroom when he felt her hand wrap around his wrist and pull him backwards.
Her lips pressed to his for a few blissful seconds before she turned away again. "Just something to hold me over until tomorrow." She flirted.
Steve laughed and left her room with a shit eating grin.
He found Tony, Clint, Peter, and Pepper in the common room and walked past them into the kitchen.
"Well?" Tony asked.
Steve tried to contain his grin. "It's a date."
So this was kind of poorly written and rushed but I'm on vacation right now and just wanted to update something small in hopes of keeping everyone tied over for a few more days.
I've got three more chapters in the works so once I'm back home updates will start rolling in.
Hopefully you liked this. If you did, please vote and comment!
