One by One They're Leaving Me (pt 2)

Due to a bunch of people asking for part 2, here it is.

Steve visited every once and a while. Like he had promised.

But things had changed. Natasha couldn't help but feel a little bit betrayed.

Steve knew her better then anyone. He had to have known how much it hurt her when the people she loved left her, and yet he left her too.

She still loved him with her entire being.

She would never be able to stop loving him.

Every night they had dinner together was treasured because as it turned out, Steve's new job had him busy most nights and weekends.

Natasha couldn't even count how many times he had cancelled last minute on her because he was still working.

It hurt more and more each time it happened.

Tonight they had plans to eat Chinese takeout and watch movies together.

Natasha sat at her table with five boxes of their various favorite foods and glanced up at the clock on the wall.

Steve was meant to be there any minute now.

She twirled her fork in her hand and waited.

Five minutes passed...then ten.....then thirty.

Natasha picked up her phone and saw no text from Steve. She wondered if he had maybe forgotten.

She dialed his number and called him.

He didn't pick up until the final ring.

"Natasha, I swear I'm on my way. I got stuck working and then my bike broke down, but I promise I'll be there in five minutes." He said urgently.

Natasha could hear the rain around Steve through the phone. "You aren't walking here are you? It's pouring!"

"I'm not walking. I'm running. Don't worry about me. I can dry off when I get to your place."

"You're an idiot."

"Sorry." He said breathlessly.

"Be careful please, I'll see you soon."

Steve promised he would be and Natasha hung up.

She put their food in the microwave and warmed it back up and then went to get a bunch of towels. She looked to find a change of clothes for him but only found a pair of sweatpants that had belonged to Thor and a small t-shirt that had belonged to Tony.

When she heard a knock at the door. Natasha ran to open it and get Steve out of the cold rain.

She opened it and saw Steve with a slight smile on his face and soaked from head to toe.

He ran a hand through his wet hair and tilted his head a little. "Sorry I'm late."

Natasha grabbed his arm and pulled him inside. "You are soaked. Take these and try to dry off." She said handing him a bunch of towels.

He dried his hair and grinned at Natasha. "Did you save me any food?"

Natasha rolled her eyes. "Yeah. I was waiting for you to eat. It's in the microwave."

"Thanks...got any extra clothes I can wear?"

Natasha held up the sweatpants she found. "All I could find was an old pair of Thor's sweatpants and one of Tony's shirts."

Steve thanked her and went into the bathroom to change.

When he came back out, Natasha couldn't help but stare a little.

Tony's shirt was tight on Steve, and she could see every ridge of his muscular chest through it.

Steve noticed and scratched his head. "Tony's shirt is a little tight on me."

Natasha grinned. "I don't see a problem. Unless you would rather just take it off." She teased.

Steve blushed and sat down across from Natasha at the small table as they started to pick through the food.

"How's your group therapy going?" Natasha asked.

"It's good. I think it's helping a lot of people, and me. Now I just gotta start following my own advice."

Natasha raised her eyebrows. "What's your advice?"

"To try and move on with life. Find someone to be happy with and just live."

Natasha smiled sadly. "That's good advice. It seems both of us could do some good following it."

Steve nodded.

Natasha picked at her food. "The only hard part is finding someone you want to live your life with."

Steve frowned. "Actually, I think that's the easy part. The hard part is admitting to yourself and that person how you feel."

Natasha's heart sped up. "Yeah? Sounds like your speaking from experience."

Steve nodded. "I am."

Natasha's brows furrowed. "Who's the luck lady?"

Steve sighed and looked down at his plate of rice before standing up and putting his plate in the sink.

"What's the matter?" Natasha asked, doing the same with her dishes.

Steve glanced up at her with his bright blue eyes. "It's you."

Natasha's heart stopped and she nearly dropped her plate.

"What?"

Steve set the plate she was holding on the counter and stepped close to her. "Natasha it's you. The person who I want to live my life with. I've been in love with you for years, and I only moved out because I was too afraid that you didn't feel the same. But doing this group therapy thing made me realize that I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering if you might have felt the same. I just need to know."

Natasha couldn't help the tears that started to form at the corner of her eyes. "I do."

"You do what?" Steve asked, his face brightening.

"I feel the same. God Steve, I love you so much it hurts sometimes." She confessed.

Steve laughed in relief. "Really?"

Natasha joined in on his laughter. "Yes really. Now come here." She said, wrapping her arm around his neck and pulling him into a kiss.

She ran her hand up and down his toned stomach and his hand tangled in her hair.

Steve finally pulled away and rested his head on hers.

"I love you so much Nat, and I was serious about what I said earlier. I want to spend my life with someone who makes me happy like you do. Would it be too soon if I moved back here?"

Natasha shook her head, a smile forming on her swollen lips.

"No. It would be amazing."

Steve smiled and kissed her again. This time, he had no intention of leaving ever again.

Figured I would make more of a fluffy chapter considering 80% of my one shots are straight up depressing.

Anyways, hopefully y'all enjoyed. Please vote and comment if you did! Also remember that I take request if you have any.
