Morphine
Requested by Romangers17, Natasha gets morphine for an injury and whole drugged, wants Steve but he's not there.
"Natasha please come on," Clint begged Natasha, looking down at her.
She remained seated in the elevator, "No."
Clint sighed, "Why not? This is your floor."
"I already told you. I'm not leaving the elevator until you take me to Steve's floor."
Clint rolled his eyes, "Cap isn't here."
Natasha crawled towards the control panel, and Clint covered it, wondering how he ended up being the one to bring her home from the hospital.
She glared at him, "If you don't move your hand, I will stab it."
Clint rolled his eyes, doubting she even had a knife on her, but when she reached into her boot and pulled out a sharp looking one, he gave into her request, "Jesus Christ. You've gone fucking insane."
Natasha giggled, sounding completely plastered and unlike herself.
They got up to Steve's floor and Natasha stood up, stumbling into his room and plopping onto the couch.
Clint shook his head and pulled out his phone, calling Steve.
"Hello?" Steve answered.
Clint sighed, "Hey Cap, it's me. We've got a bit of a problem here."
"What is it? Is everyone okay?" Steve asked, sounding worried.
"We're all fine. The thing is, Natasha had to get morphine to stich up a pretty bad wound after our mission, and now she's acting like a lunatic. She won't leave your floor."
A knife flew towards Clint's head and he looked over at Natasha with wide eyes.
"Where's Steve?" She asked.
"She just threw a knife at me. Please come help," Clint begged.
Steve sighed, "Alright I'll be there in about ten minutes."
Clint nodded and hung up, "He's coming. Now would you please stop throwing sharp things?"
Natasha shrugged and Clint stood in Steve's kitchen, keeping a safe distance between them.
In about ten minutes, Steve arrived.
Before he could even say anything, Clint pat his shoulder and walked out the door, "Good luck Cap."
Natasha smirked and stumbled over to Steve, nearly falling.
He caught her and frowned slightly, "You alright there?"
"I'm fine," She slurred, nearly falling again.
Steve raised an eyebrow, "How much morphine did they give you?"
Natasha shrugged, "Not much. I'm fine. I'm normal."
She started to fall again and Steve sighed, lifting her up gently, "Really? Because normal you doesn't normally fall over this much."
"Maybe I'm just faking it so you'll carry me."
Steve shook his head with a smile and carried Natasha into his bedroom.
She smirked after seeing where he was carrying her and traced the outline of Steve's chest through his shirt, "You move fast Captain."
Steve blushed and shook his head, "No I'm just putting you in the bed so you can sleep the drugs off."
Natasha frowned, "I'm not tired. I'd much rather the other option."
Trying to get ahold of himself, Steve set Natasha down and pulled his comforter to cover her.
"Maybe some other time," He whispered, gently kissing her forehead.
Natasha frowned and grabbed Steve's hand as he tried to walk away, "Don't leave."
Steve sighed, "Nat..."
She pulled him back to her and grinned, "Please."
"Fine, but just until you fall asleep," Steve told her, laying on top of the covers besides her.
Natasha rolled her eyes and moved so that she was right besides him. She took his hand and lifted his arm so it was wrapped around her.
"Why do you do this?" She asked quietly.
Steve frowned, "Do what?"
Natasha frowned, "This. I'm laying in your bed, completely out of it, and you still keep your hands firmly on my waist."
Steve's brows furrowed and he looked over at Natasha, who looked a little less out of it despite that he knew she was still not herself, "What do you mean Nat?"
Natasha rolled over and propped herself up on her elbow, "Kiss me."
Steve's eyes widened, "Natasha..."
She frowned, "That's what I mean."
Steve was still confused. Natasha rolled her eyes and sighed, "Why are you such a gentleman to someone like me?"
"Natasha you're my friend, and I care about you too much to take advantage of you. And even if you weren't my friend, that's no way to treat a lady."
Natasha rolled her eyes again, "Okay boomer."
Steve chuckled a little bit and shook his head, "I'm not a boomer."
Natasha shrugged, "You're sounding like one. I just want you to be an asshole. Just one time."
"What would make me an asshole?" Steve asked, looking over at Natasha.
"I though I already told you." Natasha said with a smirk.
Steve laughed, "I think I missed it."
"Kiss me."
Steve sighed, "If I do will you go to sleep?"
Natasha shrugged, "I'll consider it."
Giving in, Steve leaned forward and placed a light kiss on Natasha's lips. Using all of his willpower to pull away.
Natasha frowned, "That was not how an asshole kisses."
Steve shrugged, "You didn't specify how to kiss you."
"You knew," Natasha said, glaring lightly at him.
Steve laughed, "Does that make me an asshole?"
Natasha paused, "Yes."
Steve grinned, "Good. Now you can go to bed."
Natasha frowned but turned on her side, pressing her back to Steve's chest and holding his hand daintily.
"Fine. But promise me one thing..." Natasha whispered.
"Okay."
Natasha paused, "Promise that tomorrow, you'll kiss me again. Like you mean it. Ask me out and then kiss me. I'll say yes."
Steve smiled softly, blushing at her request, "I think I can manage that."
She smiled, "Good."
He kissed the top of her head gently and whispered goodnight, only to realize that she was already sleeping peacefully in his arms.
------------------
When Natasha woke up, she hardly remembered anything from the night before.
She knew that they had loaded her up with morphine after having to stich up a bad wound so she had been loopy most of the night.
Looking over, she saw Steve sleeping peacefully besides her and sighed.
She instantly scolded herself and gently tried to move out of the bed to leave.
She wasn't worried that something had happened, Steve was too much of a gentleman to do that. But she was worried what she had said to him in response to his chivalry.
Steve stirred and he opened his eyes slowly, "Natasha?"
Natasha turned around and gave him a soft smile, "Morning."
He got up slowly and walked up to her, "You're up early."
Natasha shrugged, "I figured I should get out of your hair. I'm sure I was enough of a burden last night. I'll go ahead and apologize for anything I said or did."
Steve chuckled, "It wasn't a problem, Clint may want that apology though. You threw a knife at him."
Natasha laughed, "Well that's not very uncommon."
Steve walked into the kitchen and grabbed two mugs from the pantry, "Coffee?"
Natasha paused, "Are you sure? I really don't want to be anymore trouble..."
Steve shook his head, "It's no trouble, really."
Natasha nodded, "Okay."
Steve made them both coffee and set it down in front of her, sitting at the barstool next to her.
Natasha took a sip of her coffee and turned to Steve, "Alright, tell me what I did last night."
"Well, Clint had to call me because you refused to leave my floor and I wasn't here. Once I got here you weren't so bad though. You did get mad at me though. And you called me a boomer."
Natasha sighed, "What did I get mad about?"
"You told me to stop being so nice and be an asshole," Steve said, a smirk playing on his lips.
"I'm sorry," Natasha said, shaking her head.
Steve laughed, "It's alright Natasha. You did make me promise something though."
Natasha raised an eyebrow, "What was that?"
Steve grinned shyly, "You made me promise to ask you out. And to kiss you if you said yes."
Natasha blushed but she couldn't help but smile, "A promise is a promise."
Steve laughed softly, "Will you go on a date with me Natasha?"
She nodded, smiling, "Of course."
"Really?" He asked, his eyes lighting up.
Natasha laughed, "Did you really think I'd say no?"
Steve shrugged, "I was a little worried."
Natasha shook her head, "Just shut up and kiss me."
Steve laughed and did so, kissing her passionately this time and nearly knocking over his coffee in the process.
Natasha pulled away breathlessly, "Maybe I should get high on morphine more often."
