Hydra's Captain
Requested by Sherlock_strange221. Steve is captured and brainwashed by Hydra and Natasha saves him.
"You think we should call for backup?" Steve asked Natasha as they fought off more agents.
Natasha shrugged, "I think we can handle them, do you?"
Steve smiled and nodded, throwing his shield at an incoming attacker.
"I think we've handled worse." He replied, tossing her his shield so she could use to hit the man running at her.
"Thanks." Natasha said, tossing it back and running along side of him as they headed for the base.
Natasha tried not to let it show, but she was nervous. They were fighting against Hydra. The organization that wanted Steve and Natasha dead over anything.
She wanted to go on the mission alone, but of course Steve had insisted on joining her.
But as they were running into the base and down the narrow hallway, she was glad he was there.
"Which way?" Steve asked, stopping at where the hallways divided.
She thought maybe they should split up but decided against it. They were outnumbered as it was.
"Left. If it's a dead end we can come back."
Steve nodded and ran down the left hallway.
There was few rooms down the hallway, but the ones that were there were empty.
Natasha was growing suspicious as they got to the end of the hallway and still hadn't seen any agents.
"Let's go back, maybe the right hallway will lead us somewhere we can do some real damage." Natasha said, turning around.
Steve nodded and they ran back the other way.
Natasha scanned the hallway, looking for a sign that someone was coming or that the base had all been a trap.
They finally reached where the hallways divided again and Steve started to run down the hallway until Natasha grabbed his arm.
"Wait," She said, frowning and pulling out her gun.
"What is it?" Steve asked, gripping his shield.
"I think we're surrounded." She whispered, pressing a finger to her com, she radioed Clint, who was waiting in the air to extract them, "Clint we're gonna need a quick getaway."
"Got it. I'll swoop down asap." Clint replied.
Steve frowned and stood close to Natasha. Suddenly, a red laser appeared on Steve's forehead.
Noticing it instantly, Natasha pushed him down, grabbing his shield from him and using it to deflect the bullet that was fired from the vents.
Spotting the sniper, she aimed and shot the man.
"We need to get out of here." Natasha said, helping Steve up and running towards the entrance.
Agents started coming at them but they were able to fight off a good amount of them.
They had cleared a path and made it outside just in time for Clint to land the jet.
"Hurry! There's more coming." Clint said over the com.
Natasha peered over her shoulder and cursed. Sure enough, there was probably a hundred soldiers coming after them.
On top of that, they now had a truck load of men with machine guns.
Steve slowed so that he was running behind Natasha as an array of bullets hit the ground around them.
His shield covered most of his back but when he turned back for just a moment, a bullet hit his side along with three others hitting his calf, thigh and arm.
Natasha stopped and ran back to him, trying to help him up.
"Nat you have to leave me. I can't stand." Steve said, looking up at her sadly.
Natasha shook her head, pressing her hands into the wound on his chest to try and stop the blood, "No. I'm not going without you. They'll kill you."
"They'll kill us both if you don't go right now. Please. Go!" Steve yelled as more bullets flew past them.
"No!" She yelled, still trying to lift him.
She threw a grenade at the agents running at them and realized Clint was firing bullets from the jet as well.
"I can't leave you." Natasha whispered, knowing now that they had some time.
Steve reached up to touch her cheek and shook his head, "Wether you leave me or not, I'm going to die. Let me die knowing you're safe. Please."
Natasha shook her head, still refusing, "Tony can save you. You can't die Steve. I love you."
Steve smiled, laying his head back.
"I love you too Nat, but you have to go."
Natasha still refused, she just wanted to cling onto him until they made it home and then watch a movie with him just like they always did.
"Tony, come get her." Steve said, pressing a finger to his com.
Natasha's eyes widened and she shook her head, "Steve no, I can't leave you."
Before she could say anything else, she was swept off her feet and flown into the jet as Clint lifted off the ground again.
"No!" Natasha screamed, punching and kicking at Tony's suit desperately while he held her back.
"He's gone Natasha." Tony said, looking at the ground solemnly.
"We could have saved him! You could have fucking helped me! We could have brought him back home!" Natasha yelled, pushing him backwards with so much force his suit nearly dented.
"He wasn't going to make it no matter what we did." Tony reasoned.
"You don't know that! And even if he didn't survive we could have at least made sure his body didn't go to the group he hated most!" Natasha yelled again, sitting down and burrying her face in her hands.
"Natasha I'm sorry, but I had to follow his order."
"Bullshit. You're your own person. You didn't have to do anything." Natasha said, looking up at Tony with a hatred that he didn't know she had for him.
Tony turned away, walking into the cockpit, she wouldn't forgive him for this.
As soon as Tony was gone, Natasha collapsed into sobs.
He was gone.

Four months later
------------------
"Romanoff, you get in and out. No funny buissness, got me?" Fury told Natasha as she left his office.
"Yes sir." Natasha said, holding the file in her hands tightly.
She slipped into her catsuit and walked towards the quinjet, looking mournfully at the empty room besides hers as she walked past it.
Her mission was to finally shut down Hydra, hack their computer system, download all Intel onto a flashdrive and bring it back to shield.
She was ready. She needed to avenge Steve because she hadn't been able to do anything but mourn him since the day of his death.
Natasha hoped that destroying the people who were responsible for his death would bring some sort of closure.
"You ready?" Clint asked from the cockpit.
Natasha nodded and Clint took off, flying towards the Hydra headquarters they had discovered.
They hovered over the location and Natasha parachuted out of the plane, landing on the building and taking out any guards on the roof.
She snuck inside through the vents and found a room filled with computers. She dropped down silently and snapped the neck of both guards in the room before they could even blink.
Natasha bent down to look at the computer and began to hack into the system.
After four minutes, she was in.
She downloaded the Intel on her flashdrive and stuck it in her combat belt before opening the door and running for the exit.
She was swiftly taking out guards left and right, making quick progress in getting back to the jet.
Jumping onto a guards shoulders and tasing him with her widows bites, Natasha took out another man.
Suddenly, she was pulled off the man and thrown against the wall roughly.
Natasha groaning in pain and looked up at the man who just threw her.
Her heart stopped in her chest and all thoughts of the mission rushed from her mind as she looked at Steve, standing alive in front of her.
"Steve?" Natasha asked, standing up quickly.
His uniform was different, and his shield was now all black with a Hydra symbol in the center, but Natasha still couldn't stop herself from stepping towards him.
"Steve it's me...Natasha." She said quietly.
"I don't care." Steve said, swinging his fist towards her.
Natasha frowned and ducked out of the way. She realized that he must have been brainwashed and thought back to when Clint was under Loki's control.
She needed to hit Steve in the head...hard.
Steve tried again to punch her but luckily, having had years of experience sparing against him, Natasha knew his weaknesses.
She dodged his punches and ducked around to the back of Steve, kicking his knee from behind so that he lost balance for a second.
Running at him, she jumped onto his shoulders and hit his head with the blunt of her hand gun as hard as she could.
Steve wobbled and Natasha jumped down, looking at him curiously.
"Nat?" He asked before passing out.
Natasha struggled for a moment but finally was able to hoist Steve over her shoulders, having built up her muscles much more since she thought he died.
She ran as fast as she could to the jet and set Steve down on one of the tables inside.
"Is that Steve!?" Clint asked, taking off.
Natasha nodded, "Radio Fury for me. Let him know that I'm bringing Steve home."
Hey guys. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I didn't go past this because I am tired and I feel like anything after this would be repetitive to some other things I've written, so there won't be a part two either.
The next chapter is #100 so it's going to be long and hopefully pretty unique. This does mean it may be a few days before I update it.
Besides that, like always, vote and comment if you enjoyed!
