Costume Party

In the spirit of Halloween, a one-shot featuring Tony throwing a Halloween party where everyone must dress up.

"I'm not wearing a costume," Natasha said firmly to Tony.

Tony frowned, "Natasha its a costume party. The whole point is to where a costume."

Natasha shook her head, "This is ridiculous. Why should I have to wear a costume."

"Because it's fun," Tony argued.

Natasha sighed and rolled her eyes, "Fine but don't expect much."

She walked off to her room and smiled when she saw Steve knock on her door at the same time she left the elevator.

"Looking for me?" She asked.

Steve jumped a little and turned around with red cheeks, "Geez Nat, you scared me...I was just coming to ask what you were doing for the Halloween party. I can't think of anything to wear."

Natasha sighed and opened her door, inviting Steve in as well, "I don't know. I'll probably do whatever's easiest."

Steve laughed, "You don't sound thrilled about it."

"I'm not. I just argued with Tony about it. Dressing up in costumes isn't my thing." Natasha explained.

"You go undercover all the time,"  Steve pointed out.

Natasha frowned, "Not the same thing."

Steve sat down on Natasha's couch and sighed, "How are we supposed to find a costume in less then an hour?"

"Google." Natasha said, pulling out her laptop.

They scrolled through the dozens of websites providing costume ideas and eventually they each had one.

Natasha kicked Steve out of her room and started getting ready for the party.

She wore a simple black dress with long black gloves and got a few disposable nametags, writing different names on each of them and sticking them on her dress.

Steve wore a red and black shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a dark pair of jeans with brown boots.

They ended up walking down to the party around the same time and were both surprised to see how many of their teammates had gone all out for costumes.

The first people they noticed were Tony and Clint.

Clint was wearing a black skin tight suit that was way too tight for him...probably because it had been Natasha's.

"Clint! Is that one of my suits?" Natasha yelled.

Clint summersaulted and stood up, dramatically flipping his hair the same way Natasha did when she would land something.

"Whose Clint? I'm the Black Widow," Clint said.

Natasha stomped on Clint's foot, which was jammed into a pair of her boots, and rolled her eyes, "You're paying me back for this suit."

Steve almost laughed, but then he saw Tony.

Tony, like Clint, was wearing one of Steve's previous suits and holding Steve's shield in his arm while he attempted to mimick Steve.

"What are you two supposed to be?" Tony said, finally walking upto them.

"I'm a lumberjack," Steve explained.

Natasha motioned to her various nametags, "I'm an identity thief."

Tony rolled his eyes, "How unpatriotic of you."

Steve sighed, "I don't sound like that."

Natasha smirked until Clint wrapped his arms around Tony's stomach and faked a giggle, "I'm thirsty, come with me to get a drink." He said in a voice meant to sound like Natasha.

Natasha's smirk disappeared and she frowned, "What the hell are you two on?"

Clint looked up at Tony and smiled, "Love."

Steve shook his head and Natasha rolled her eyes, "Oh for fucks sake," She mumbled.

Clint and Tony walked away hand in hand and Natasha and Steve went to find some company that was less irritating.

There wasn't much room on the couch so Natasha ended up sitting practically in Steve's lap as they talked to Thor, Bruce, Pepper, and Wanda.

Everything was going fine until Tony and Clint once again joined the fun.

Tony sat down first, followed by Clint, who sat on Tony's lap and leaned his head on Tony's shoulder, brushing the red wig out of his face.

Natasha rolled her eyes, "That's not what we act like."

Wanda raised her eyebrows and looked between Steve and Natasha and Tony and Clint, "Look how you two are sitting," she told Natasha and Steve.

They looked at each other and then back at the two idiots before rolling their eyes, "You guys are overthinking this all. Do you see anywhere else for me to sit?" Natasha asked.

No one answered.

"Excactly." Natasha said, rolling her eyes.

Tony began to play with Clint's fake wig and Natasha finally gave up.

She stood up from Steve's lap and walked off to the open bar, not listening to Tony, who was still pretending to be Steve as he begged her to come back.

Natasha ordered the strongest drink the bartender could make and sat back with a deep sigh.

She just didn't understand.

Her and Steve were close...that much was obvious. But the constant pressure from her teammates to date him was becoming ridiculous.

Wether Natasha did or didn't want to date Steve didn't matter. He was too good for her, and it wasn't as if he reciprocated any of her feelings.

After her drink was made, Natasha stepped outside onto the balcony to get some fresh air.

"I take it Halloween isn't your thing?" Steve asked, stepping besides her.

Natasha shrugged, "Holidays in general aren't really my thing."

Steve nodded, "I prefer quiet holidays...no parties, no drinking, just me and the people I care about spending time together."

Natasha laughed a little, "That sounds nice. Unrealistic, but nice."

"It's not unrealistic...that's what right now is. On the balcony, there's no parties or music. It's just us."

Natasha smiled, "I guess you're right...but we are also only a few meters away from our two asshole friends who are going around dressed like us and mimicking us. I don't know how that fits into your ideal holiday."

Steve laughed, "It doesn't really but I guess I can learn to deal with it."

Natasha looked back into the building through the window and shook her head when she saw Tony and Clint slow dancing.

"How much have they had to drink?" Natasha asked.

"Enough to where I'm starting to wonder if they'll kiss." Steve said, smirking.

Natasha laughed.

"Are you not cold?" Steve asked, crossing his arms and hugging himself for warmth.

Natasha shrugged, "I'm Russian, cold isn't really a problem."

Steve nodded and began to move around a bit, trying to warm himself up.

"Do you wanna go back inside?" Natasha offered, seeing how cold he was.

Steve shook his head, "No. Being out here with you is nice, I can deal with a little cold."

Natasha smiled and moved closer to Steve, resting her head on his shoulder and linking arms with him, "You know the best way to warm up is body heat."

Steve raised an eyebrow, "Yeah?"

Natasha nodded and gazed back into the room to find Tony and Clint passed out on the couch, Clint laying on top of Tony with his wig halfway attached.

"They look like us in forty years." Natasha pointed out.

Steve smiled, "Doesn't seem so bad..."

Natasha frowned, "Being a drunk in a costume doesn't sound so bad?"

"No that part does, I meant laying on a couch with you." Steve said, blushing.

Natasha smirked, "Do you ever wonder where we'll be later on? At this rate, you and I are gonna be the last ones to retire. What happened then?"

Steve frowned, "I don't know. I spend so much time focused on the present that I don't ever think about what I would do without this team. I guess I would settle down somewhere outside the city...maybe get a dog."

"No kids?" Natasha asked.

Steve shrugged, "Maybe one day...it's hard to think about kids when you aren't even dating someone."

Natasha rolled her eyes, "Please, you could get any woman to date you without even batting an eye."

Steve smirked, "Does that include you?"

Natasha was taken aback by his boldness but she tried not to let it show, "Is that your way of asking me out Rogers?" She teased.

"I don't know...is that your way of saying yes?"

Natasha laughed and looked up at Steve, "Are you being serious right now?"

Steve's face brightened and he stuttered to find words, "Yes, unless you're not interested. In which case forget I asked."

Natasha placed her hand on top of Steve's and smiled, "No, I am. Believe me I am. Can I ask you why now though?"

Steve turned red again and he forced a laugh, "Honestly, seeing Tony and Clint pretend to be us made me wish everything they were saying a doing was true. I guess I just didn't feel like hiding my feelings anymore."

Natasha smiled and looked back into the room, "Well who'd of thought that I would finally get a date with you because of those two idiots."

Steve laughed and held Natasha's hand gently in his own.

"Finally? Sounds like you've been waiting a while." Steve said.

Natasha shrugged, "I have been."

Steve paused, '"Well I've been spending the last few years trying to gather the courage to do it." He said with a small laugh.

"I hate to say it but we should've listened to the team... they've been trying to get us to go out for years." Natasha said.

Steve shrugged, "We figured it out eventually."

Natasha smiled and grabbed Steve's hand in her own, "True, but I'd say we've definitely had a few evening's that could be considered dates."

Steve laughed, "Well if we count every dinner and movie night we've had then this will be like our hundredth date."

"God Rogers, one hundred dates and you still haven't kissed me. I knew you were old fashioned but that seems extreme." She teased, wrapping her arms around Steve's neck and looking up at him with a mischievous grin.

"Sorry, can I make it up to you?" Steve asked, going along with her game.

Natasha shrugged, "Well you can start by kissing me."

Steve smiled and bent down to meet Natasha's lips, kissing her lightly seeing as he had yet to take her on a date.

Steve pulled away and Natasha rolled her eyes, "Damn Rogers, I know you're out of practice but at least kiss me like you mean it." She teased, pulling him back down to kiss him passionately.

Steve responded to her kiss and ran one of his hands through her hair while the other rested on her lower back.

Natasha moaned into the kiss and finally pulled away, "That was...much better. Definitely worth the wait."

Steve laughed and leaned his forehead onto Natasha's, "Agreed."

Natasha kissed Steve again and probably would have ended up taking it way to far on the balcony but a loud banging came from the window, causing them to jump apart.

Tony, Clint, and most of the other avengers were gathered around the window, watching the two.

Natasha sighed, "For fucks sake..." She muttered, grabbing Steve's hand and pulling them back inside.

When they walked in, Clint whistled and Tony clapped, making Steve blush while Natasha rolled her eyes.

"I hope you enjoyed the show, now excuse us because I would much prefer to continue that without an audience." Natasha called out to Clint and Tony, flipping them off in the process.

Steve nearly chocked on the air but he didn't protest as Natasha pulled him into her room with her eyes full of mischief and love.

Natasha might not have wanted to dress up for Halloween, but she certainly didn't mind undressing.

Hey guys...happy early Halloween. I'm a huge fan of Halloween and costumes so I felt like I had to write something with a costume party.

Next chapter will also be Halloween themed and will probably be up tomorrow.

Please let me know what you think of this and if you enjoyed please comment and vote!
