Babysitting

Set during the five years after Thanks has first snapped. Natasha and Steve are dating and Tony asks them to babysit Morgan while he and Pepper go on a date.

Natasha and Steve had arrived at Tony's cabin with plenty of time to spare, seeing as though Natasha had sped the entire way there.

They had been asked to babysit Morgan for them while they went out. Of course they had said yes.

They hadn't seen the girl in a while and both of them had become pretty close to her in the few years she had been alive.

When they had first pulled up to the house, they didn't go right inside, seeing as they were early.

Steve looked over at Natasha and smiled. "You ready?"

Natasha shrugged. "In a minute, I wanna do this before we are in the presence of a child." She said, leaning across the seat and pressing Steve's lips to her own.

Climbing over the divider between them, Natasha straddled Steve's lap and continued to kiss him.

They probably wouldn't have separated for quite some time, but a loud banging on the window broke them apart.

"Hey! This area is family friendly! Save it for when you get home." Tony said with his face pressed up against the window.

Natasha rolled her eyes and opened the passenger side door, climbing out of Steve's lap and standing besides Tony.

Steve sighed. "Nice to see you too Tony."

Before Tony could come up with a retort, Morgan ran out of the house and towards Natasha and Steve.

"Auntie Nat!" She said, jumping into Natasha's arms.

Natasha hugged her and laughed, greeting her. Steve held up his arms in fake irritation. "What am I? Chopped liver?"

Natasha set Morgan down and she ran into Steve's arms. "Hi Uncle Steve."

Steve tossed her in the air and laughed.

They all went inside and Pepper frantically tried to tell Natasha and Steve everything they needed to know.

Tony rolled his eyes soon enough and grabbed Peppers hand. "They'll figure it out. Bye, see you late. Love you pumpkin."

With that, Pepper and Tony left and Natasha grinned.

"Time for some fun now, right?"

Morgan grinned. "Can you teach me how to throw knives again?"

Steve's eyes widened and Natasha playfully glared at Morgan. "That was supposed to be our secret."

"So we can't?" Morgan asked.

Natasha paused, considering the activity. Steve shook his head. "No knife throwing! I don't need any of my girls losing an eye."

Natasha grinned and Morgan giggled. "Fine. What can we do?" Morgan asked.

"We could make your favorite dinner..."

"Cheeseburgers?!"

Steve nodded. "Sure kid."

While Steve made dinner, Natasha ran around with Morgan in the backyard.

When the burgers were finally ready, Morgan ran to the table and sat down excitedly.

Their dinner was full of Morgan chattering about school, her friends, and other things that neither Natasha or Steve knew anything about.

At one point the young girl was making such violent gestures with her arms that she sent her coke flying across the table so that it spilt all over Natasha's jeans.

"Shit!" Natasha said in shock.

Morgan's eyes widened, "Shit!"

Steve and Natasha looked at each other and Natasha tried not to laugh.

"Natasha!" Steve said, gathering napkins while she laughed.

"Sorry, sorry. Uh Morgan, you can't say that word. Your mom will never let us babysit again if she knows we taught you a bad word."

"You didn't teach me it, Dad did."

Now Natasha really couldn't contain her laughter. "Oh did he?"

Morgan nodded.

"I'm so going to enjoy using that against him." Natasha mumbled to Steve while he helped her clean up the spill.

Steve laughed and they finished cleaning the mess.

After dinner they got Morgan ready for bed, ate popsicles, and started a movie.

Steve had become a human chair for both Natasha and Morgan, but he couldn't say he minded.

He was sitting at the end of the couch, so Natasha had sat in his lap and put her legs facing towards the empty part of the couch.

Then Morgan had crawled into Steve's lap and laid down across Natasha's legs.

His only problem with it, was when Morgan had fallen asleep and neither him nor Natasha could move, in fear of waking her up.

"Should we bring her upstairs?" Steve asked.

Natasha nodded. "I'll do it."

Natasha took the young girl in her arms and carried her upstairs and into her room.

When she placed Morgan down, she stirred and woke up.

"Auntie Nat, when are you and Uncle Steve going to come visit again?"

"Well, I'm not sure, but I promise it won't be too long. We'll be back before you know it."

Morgan nodded and turned over before going back to sleep.

Natasha walked back down the steps and resumed her spot in Steve's lap.

"She asleep?"

Natasha nodded. "Yeah. Now we've got two hours to ourselves until Tony and Pepper come back."

"Yeah? What do you suggest we do for those two hours?"

"This." Natasha said, smirking and pulling Steve in for a kiss.

They kissed for a long time, not taking it any further because Morgan was right upstairs.

After a while Natasha pulled away. Spending all night with Morgan and seeing how Steve interacted with her, it made Natasha feel guilty.

Guilty that she could never give him a family like that.

"Before we started dating, did you want kids?"

"I don't know. I hadn't ever really thought about it. I guess I never thought about it because I never had someone to start a family with...but even now I'm not sure I would want them."

Natasha rested her head on his chest. "Why do I feel like your just saying this because you know I can't give you that?"

"It's true Nat. Plus, if we really wanted a family we could always adopt. And if you wanted to do that then I would support you the whole way, but as far as my feelings go, I'm happier with you then I've ever been. I don't need anything else."

Natasha smiled, somehow, Steve always knew excactly what to say.

"I love you." She said. Kissing him lightly again.

"I love you too."

A door behind them opened and Pepper entered the room.

"Hey guys, how was she?"

"She was great. Didn't give us any issues." Natasha answered.

Pepper sighed in relief. "Oh good. Well, thank you for tonight. I've got a meeting early in the morning so I'm headed up to bed." She said, walking upstairs.

Tony came in shortly after Pepper with a grin on his face.

"Hey lovers. Thanks for not burning my house down." He said walking over to them.

Natasha rolled her eyes and Steve shook his head. "Your welcome." He said.

"Did Morgan really not give you any problems?" Tony asked.

Natasha smirked. "No problems at all. In fact, she spent most of the night telling us about the fun word you taught her."

Tony frowned. "What word is that?"

"Shit."

Tony laughed. "Oh god."

Natasha stood up and smiled. "Does Pepper know?"

Tony shook his head. "No and she isn't going to know."

"Yeah? What makes you think I won't tell her."

Steve laughed, enjoying the conversation before him.

"I'll tell her that you taught Morgan how to throw knives."

Natasha's smile disappeared. "She told you about that too?"

Tony nodded.

"Well now both of you can relax and Pepper doesn't have to find out about either of those incidents." Steve said, standing up.

Natasha put her head on Steve's shoulder and glared at Tony.

Tony returned her death stare.

"We should get going. It's late." Steve said and Natasha nodded.

"Alright, come visit again soon. Morgan loves seeing you guys, for whatever reason."

Steve nodded. "Of course. We'll keep in touch."

Tony led them to the door. "Thanks again."

The couple nodded and got into their car.

Natasha sped all the way home and they got ready for bed.

Although they hadn't done anything tiring, both Natasha and Steve felt exhausted.

Natasha wrapped her arms around Steve's torso and rested her head on his chest. "Goodnight Steve."

Steve wrapped his arms around her as well and kissed her forehead. "Goodnight Nat."

So, this was random and kind of a mess or ideas I had but I hope you enjoyed.

Basically, this was the result of me being upset that during the five years before the snap, it doesn't seem like any of the avengers went to visit Tony and Pepper. Which honestly doesn't make sense to me, so I wrote something where they did.

Please comment and vote if you enjoyed.
