I Hate you
Third person's POV.
"What a beautiful couple." Someone said, looking at them, who were seated together on the stage as a bride and groom.
"You both look perfect together." Said one of her friends and both glare at each other.
Looking at each other hatefully, they curse each other under their breath and looked away. Their eyes went to their parents who were so happy after ruining their life, after bounding them with each other. Those two who couldn't bear each others name now were bounded in a relationship which was as strong as they could think.
"Hello, Mr and Mrs Ahmad. I'm glad to see you both together as bride and groom. I hope the fire of hate also ends with this new relationship between you two." Said their mutual friend Zainab.
"I still hate him." With a grinning smile, Mishkat said, looking at him, who turned to her with the fake smile.
"Thank you. The feelings are mutual." Ahmad said with the huge smile on his lips, burning her.
It was the wedding day of Ahmad Raza and Mishkat Zubair. The two who were famous for their hate with each other. Their fathers were best friends, but they were enemies of each other. Since childhood, they had a kind of relationship where they couldn't tolerate each other. There was always a quarrel between them. They tried every time to humilate the other, defeat the other in every step of their life. But here, both defeated by their parents, who blackmailed them for this marriage.
"I need a separate room. I can't tolerate you at my sight." She said, whispered to his ears.
"I'm not allowing you to put your foot in my room either. You've the ugliest foot in the world, you know." He said, looking down at her feet.
"How dare you? What problem do you've with my feet?" As expected, she got angry as he mentioned her feet, which were a little fat.
He knew what her weak point was. He smirked and looked at her fat and small feet, and she felt like he was mocking her again. Her temperature started to increase, and she put her foot along with her sandal she was wearing on his foot harder, making him shout all of sudden in pain. He smiled as he saw people looking at him but didn't forget to give a glare to her, who was now looking around.
"You'll pay for your every act, princess." He said and she looked at him in his eyes with the hate as she heard the word princess from his mouth.
"I'm not your princess. You dare to use this word again, and I'll kill you." She said, gritting her teeths in anger.
He smirked again as he knew how much she hated the word princess. In childhood, she was a fat, a little bit of dark complexion. Every time she looked at the fairytale, she found the princess so beautiful, and her mind made this set up that she was not beautiful enough to be a princess. Her rival came to know about her feelings, and since then to now he knew how to ruin her mood. How to make her angry.
"Princess, look, our parents are coming." He said, and she looked at the direction where her parents were coming with his parents.
"It's time for Rukhsati. Get ready, you both." Said His father and he stood up but didn't bother to ask her.
"What are you doing? Help her to stand up. She's wearing a heavy dress." Said his mother, and he looked at her with annoyance.
"I can manage aunty." She said, stopping him to touch her.
Holding her lehnga, she stood and took a step ahead to stand next to him. Both gave deathly glares to each other while many eyes were on them. Some of their cousins were smiling, thinking if this marriage would work as everyone knew the hate they had between them. But there was someone else who had tears in his eyes as he saw her to be someone else bride.
Soon, they reached home. Mr Zubair, with his family, went to his home, which was next to Mr Raza. Both of their houses were connected through the door, which was made in the wall of these two houses. Mr and Mrs Raza stepped inside the house with their relatives and their son and newly daughter in law. His all family welcomed them happily, but they were just frustrated, hating the other on his side. All the rituals were done and everyone let them go to their toom but his cousins stopped him on the way and they both looked at them questioned.
"Ahmad bhai, you have to carry her in your arms to your room. It's ritual." Said one of his cousins.
"What?" Both of them almost shouted.
"I'm not going to do this."
"He can't touch me."
Both said, and their cousins looked at each other and then to them who were glaring at each other. Ahmad's sister was grinning too to see them stuck in this situation.
"Bhai, you've got to carry her. It's a ritual, and you can't break it, and bhabhi, only he can touch you." His sister Aabrish said, smiling.
Sighing, he turned to her, and with a glare, he wrapped his arms around his back and legs and took her up in his arms, giving her shock. A wave of anger ran inside her veins, and she gritted her teeth while looking at him angrily.
"Put me down." She snarled, who had started to walk.
"I won't." He said and kept walking toward his room while all of his cousins and sister were cheering for them.
Looking at them for once, Ahmad faked a smile and pushed the door of his room, and stepped inside with her in his arms. As he stepped inside, he almost threw her away from his arms , and she almost fell down.
"How dare you. How dare you touch me." She said, standing up.
"Shut up. I wasn't dying to touch you, but I didn't want to hurt them." He said, taking off his coat.
"This was the first and last time that you've touched me. I'll kill you if you ever lay a finger of yours on me." She said angrily, and he turned to her.
"You are also not welcomed to my sights. This will be your first and last time when you've been standing in my room and talking to me." He said and went to the right side of his room.
It was a huge room which had a double bed in the centre while on the front wall of the bed, there was a door which opened up in his study. A little study side which he made for reading as he was crazy for books, on left side wall there was a dressing table settled, and next to it the glass door of the balcony started. In the balcony, there were beautiful little pots that had plants of roses of different colours. He was crazy for roses, and she hated them. Going inside the room, on the right side wall corner, there was a huge plastic plant in a huge vase that was placed, and along with it, on a little distance, a couch was placed. A glass table was placed in front of it. There was his dressing room, too. On one side, there was his beautiful dressing side. He went to his study room door and opened it.
"You'll be staying here. I don't want to see you anymore." He said, showing her the room.
"Why would I sleep there. You can sleep there because I can't sleep without bed." She said .
"This is my room, and you're an uninvited guest. If you want to stay then you'll have to stay in this room and please stay out of my sights from now on." He said and went to the dressing side to change his clothes like he fumed in anger.
She was roaming here and there in anger. In bridal look, she was stunning, but both had ignored this point. As he returned, he found her still there, giving lines to his forehead. Sighing, he stepped ahead and looked at her, who was now stopped on her place but was about to burst out.
"What are you still doing here? I told you to just get out of my sight." He shouted.
"How dare you treat me like that. Why should I move to that room. I'm going to stay here. You've got to move to that room." She said, pointing toward the study room.
" I just can't stand this woman. Do you have mind or not? This room is mine and I will stay here. Do you understand?" He asked taking a step closer to her, but she just pushed him.
"Don't try to come closer. I know you. You pathetic loser." She said which made the anger hit his head, and in a step, he reached her, held her wrist in his hand, and pulled her closer.
"What did you say? You know me? So tell me what you know about me?" Pinning his fingers harder in her wrist, he growled.
"Yes, I know you. You are a selfish, heartless person who knows only his benefit. A person who doesn't care about anyone. You who can smile after hurting someone. You can easily snatch someone's every relation. And a boy who gives his heart to every girl." She started and then kept saying while her eyes took the shine of tears.
"This much hate! This much misunderstanding!" He asked, looking deeply in her eyes.
"It's not a misunderstanding. It's true. I've seen it. I've seen the bitter side of yours. And yes, I hate you. I hate you the most." She shouted while many tears left her eyes.
"May I know the reason of your hate princess?" Holding his anger back, he asked.
"You dare to call me princess again." Pushing him back with her full force, she shouted.
"I hate you. I hate you. You've killed my brother. I just hate you." Hitting on his chest with slaps, she burst out in anger, and her words shocked him, and his feet froze to the ground.
"What... did you say?" He asked, holding her both hands in his hands, and she looked up at him.
"Shahid bhai. He died because of you. My brother died because of you." Mishkat cried again.
"You've killed him." She said and cried and cried and sat down on the ground, and he could hear her hiccups.
"He was with you the time. He had told me to wait for him as he was so much in a hurry that day. He told me that you've called him there. You were the last person he met and you were found in his car injured but he died next to you." She was saying with tears and hiccups, and he kept listening to her with shock.
"I never liked you, but my all family loved you. My other three brothers are crazy about you and my parents they consider you as their son, and that's what I never liked, but I had my brother. My brother, my Shahid bhai who always loved me, but you also took him away from me. You never let anyone near me. You made me all alone at the age of 12." She cried more as she stopped talking.
"That's the reason of your hate?" He asked as he sat down in front of her and and looked at her, who looked away from his face.
"Let me show you something." He said and got up from there.
She just kept crying. Her heart was paining. She was missing her brother, a brother who was her best friend. Shahid Zubair was 12 years older than her. Ismail, Fakhir and Azam were her other older brother. She was the younger one in all of them. That was the reason that Shahid loved her the most. He pampered her a lot and took care of her every time. When she lost him at the age of 12, she felt all alone in the world.
Her mind was recalling the moments she spent with her brother while her hands slowly started to take off her jewellery, but tears still came out of her eyes. Pulling the dupatta away from her head, she was letting the frustration out. Taking the pins out, she opened her hair from that bun and was about to get up as she was not interested in listening to him. But before she could get up, he came and sit in front of her on his knees. Placing the box in front of her, he looked up at her.
"Shahid bhai bought this on that day. For you." He said, and she looked up, shocked.
"I didn't call him that day. He had told me to come to the mall after taking my classes from the academy. But he picked me from my academy himself. He was so excited." Ahmad was saying, and Mishkat was listening to him with shock.
"You know why he was so excited?" He asked, looking in her red eyes.
"Because it was his princess birthday. It was your birthday after two days. He asked me to help him. But I told him that his princess didn't like me." He said and stopped.
"But he said his princess knows that I'm a devil." With words, he laughed a little as he remembered those moments, but his eyes got wet with tears.
"And I told him that the devil always caged the princess and there Shahid bhai slapped my head." He said touching the back of his head as he still felt that slap on his head.
"He selected this gift for you and delivered it to my address. He wanted me to give this gift to him on that day. He didn't want you to see the gift before your birthday. He even made the reservation at your favourite restaurant. He even selected the menu for that day. The gol guppy was the first item for you. I was just so annoyed as I was preparing a girl's birthday who didn't like me but she thought that I was stealing her every relation." He said as a tear left his eyes.
"As we drove back home, he was only talking about you. What you like and not. How's he going to surprise you at midnight and truly I was fading up. I didn't want to listen to you. But he was making this devil listen of his princess. And then he suddenly saw something on the other side of the road which made him supper excited. There was something he maybe wanted to buy for you, but he didn't look at the road or the cars. Our car hit the other car and the accident occurred. That day, we lost Shahid bhai." He said and looked up at her, who was shocked at what he said.
"It delivered on the next day, and I cried as hell looking at the gift. After the few days I came to you with this but you didn't listen to me but slapped me, cursed me. I understood your situation as you were in the sorrow of your brother, but after that, you never let me talk to you and always showed me your hate. And your hate made me hate you more." He said," And this time, his eyes reddened with anger.
"That day, not only you, but I also lost my brother. He was my brother too. How can you think that I would..." He stopped as anger rises in him.
"It was yours, and I never opened it. Now you can have it. But remember one thing, nothing changed. Nothing changed between us. I was loved by all your family, but your hate and the humiliation I suffered is much stronger than their love. And this hate won't die till the day I die." He said and got up from his place while she stood up and looked in his eyes.
"You can't hate me more than I do. I hated you all my life, and I will keep doing it till I die. Nothing can change my heart toward you. This heart never liked you and will never be." Saying, she took the gift and walked toward the study room.
He went to the washroom, fuming in anger while she closed the door harder. Both said bitter words to each other, showing that nothing changed. The fact that Shahid was a common person whose love was deeply in their heart but they both couldn't stand each other. Expressing their hate to each other, they somewhere assured themselves that nothing changed. Their heart still hate the other, but something changed at that very moment when they were telling each other than how much they hate each other. They could feel the hollowness of the words as they said. The rest of the hate faded in a second. Fuming in anger, both just cursed each other and tried to take rest, but their night was going to be so long.
********************
"What are you doing here? It's late." She said as she sat next to him, who turned his face to the other side to wipe his tears.
"Don't tell me that you're crying." Aabrish said and leaned a little ahead to see him.
"Can't you just forget her? She's married to my brother now." Aabrish said and looked at him, who tried to smile and gave a nod.
"Your parents came to our house. In fact, they are still there." Her words made him look at her.
She smiled, looking at him. He could see an ocean of love in her eyes, but his heart belonged to someone else.
"I'm engaged." Showing her finger to him where a beautiful diamond ring was shining, she grinned.
"You must be joking!." He said, didn't expect all this.
"Azaan, this is not a joke. But the most beautiful reality is that I belong to you now." Her words made him tensed and he got up from his place and looked at her, concerned.
Azaan Bashir was stunned and shocked as what he heard. He could see her eyes twinkling with happiness, and he didn't want to snatch that happiness, but there was nothing he could do to protect that happiness. Azaan Bashir was in love with his cousin Mishkat Zubair who got married to that person she hated the most. And here, this girl who was looking so happy as she got engaged with him was Ahmad's little sister. Both were in front of each other. Ones eyes were twinkling with happiness while others had concern.
"You know this is not tight. I told mom to stop this, but she still went to your house with the proposal." He said angered somewhere.
"I told her to come." She said, looking in his eyes.
"What?" He was shocked on her words.
"When she asked me about you, I couldn't say no. So I asked her to come to my parents and I told her to come on this day." Aabrish said, and he sat down on the bench holding his head in his hands.
"Why are you so worried?" She asked, and he looked up at her.
"You're asking me why! I don't love you, Aabrish. I don't have anything to give you. I've told you so many times not to ruin your life. I love Mishkat." He said, looking at her while a tear slipped from his eye.
"And Mishkat is married now." She interrupted him.
"But I don't love you. Don't ruin your life for someone like me." He said, looking at her, who moved a little closer to him and cupped his face in her warm palms.
"But I love you. I love you more than anything. And I think my love would be enough for both of us." She said as her own eyes filled up with tears.
"You didn't get your love. But don't let my love story incomplete. I won't ask for anything. No love, no romance, nothing. I will love you unconditionally. I promise to make you smile every day." She was saying, and he was just looking at her who was shedding tears for him.
"I'll do your every work. I will not tease you anyone. I'll listen to you always. I won't ask you to love me, but please don't separate me from you." She said while cleaning his face where tears were shining.
"It won't be easy." He said, and she took her hands down and shrugged her shoulders with a smile.
"I'll handle. But promise to hug me when I feel weak." She said, and he smiled, looking at her.
"Promise. But you promise not to cry if I can't love you back." He said, and she gave a nod while giggling, and he smiled, looking at her happy face, but somewhere, he felt his heart all alone and sad.
***********************
It had been a week since the wedding of Ahmad and Mishkat. Both were silent from that day. They didn't talk to each other, and neither looked at each other. Ahmad was busy in his banking job while Mishkat joined her boutique with Aabrish. Both were back in their lives, but somewhere, their hearts were restless. All the family members were also amazed at their behaviour. They were cursing the other, no taunting, no arguments, nothing was happiness between them. One more week passed, and the day of Aabrish and Azaan's Nikah came. It was a simple ceremony where only a few relatives were invited. A small wedding ceremony on the wish of Azaan.
Mishkat was happy for Aabrish and Azaan. She was smiling and cheering for them both. The Nikah was done, and soon the Rukhsati happened. Aabrish was gone to her own house now. Ahmad and Mishkat were only left there with Ahmad's parents.
"Listen, you both." As both turned to ho to their room , Ahmad's father, Mr Raza, called them.
"Come sit. I've something to talk to you about." Said Mr Raza and both of them took seat on different sofa.
"Two weeks of your marriage passed and yet you both haven't decided where you want to go on honeymoon." Asked Mr Raza, and both startled.
"Aabrish and Azaan got married too. They will go their honeymoon after their reception. So I was thinking that you both should plan it too." Said Mr Raza.
"So where you both want to go." Asked Mrs Raza with a smile.
"Do we both look like that? we want to go to honeymoon. You know we don't get along with each other. We got married because of you two best friends. Please give us some time." Said Ahmad and without listening to them, he marched out from there.
"Leave him aunty. He's always rude. I'll tell you whenever I feel like." Hugging his mother she said.
"Can't you both end your hate?" She asked while hugging her back.
"I'll see you in the morning. Good night, uncle. Good night, Aunty." Saying, she walked to her room without answering her question.
"Will they both ever love each other?" Mrs Raza asked with a sigh, looking at the stairs.
"They will. I can see some changes. You will see it soon." With a smile Mr Raza said and walked to his room.
On the other side, as Mishkat entered the room, she found it empty. She was hell tired. Checked the washroom and dressing area, she didn't found him which made her to breath in relieve. Getting relaxed, she stopped in front of the dressing table and started to take off her jewellery and bangles. Going to the study room, she took her night dress out and went to take a shower. As she came back, she still found the room empty.
"Where did he go?" She asked herself but then looked at the empty bed.
Grinning, she jumped on the bed and pulled the comforter on her and down on bed with a sigh of happiness. "Finally bed." She said, inhaling a breath.
"I'm going to sleep." She said with close eyes, and it took her few seconds to drift into the sleep.
He stepped into the room from the balcony, lost in his own thoughts. Throwing ciggerate leftover into the dustbin as he moved ahead, his eyes landed on her who was sleeping peacefully in his bed. Frowning, he moved ahead and thought to call her, but his eyes stuck to her face, which was looking so innocent. Sitting next to her on bed, his eyes kept roaming on her face, and his heart started to beat fast. Her hair spread on the pillow, her pink cheeks, beautiful lips and her crystalline neck everything make him stop on his place and he found himself lost in her beauty.
"I still hate you." Mumbled, he averted his eyes from her face and stood up.
Going to the washroom, he changed into his night dress and came out. Looking at the bed once, he shrugged his shoulders and lay down on his side of bed and turned off the lights.
********************
Azaan entered the room and saw her seated on bed. Going to her, he took a sigh and sat in front of her on bed. Lifting the veil, his eyes fallen on her beautiful face. She lifted her eyes and looked at him who passed a smile to her and frowned.
"Its like I've made you sit here on gun point." She said looking at his expressions.
"Why are you saying this?" He asked, confused.
"I know you were not ready to marry but now it happened. So smile with your heart for me." She said grinning.
"What kind of a bride you're? Who spoke this much to her groom on the wedding night!" He exclaimed, shook his head astonished.
"Its Aabrish. Your bride. And I can do more than speaking to my groom." She said circling her arms around his neck, startling him while she laughed looking at his pale face.
"You can trust me Mr Azaan." Tapping on his shoulder, she said assured him of his safety and moved back while he took a deep breath.
"How I'm looking?" She asked, breaking the silence between them.
"You're looking beautiful but I'm regretting on marrying you. You don't deserve this. You deserve to be loved and I can't..." He was saying looking down but she placed her finger on his lips, silenced him.
"I'm loved by you. I can see that. You don't have to worry. I'll make your this heart beat for me." Pointing toward his heart she said and both smiled, looking in each other's eyes.
"I'll go change and you too." She said and went to take her night dress out of her luggage.
Both changed into their sleeping suits. Looking at the bed, Azaan hesitated but Aabrish jumped on it and took the right side.
"You can sleep on left side and can trust me." She said and lay down pulling the compmfortter on her.
Smiling, he went to his side and lay down. For few seconds both kept laying striaght, looking at the ceiling of the roof but then she turned to him.
"Azaan." She called him who turned his head toward her to see her.
"How are you feeling? I mean we as a married couple and now in the same room." She asked and he turned to her, placing his hand under his face.
"I'm still not believing myself that I did it." He said with a small smile.
"Hmm. I know you've had never thought of marrying me but see this place was for me and I'm here as Yours." She said with a huge smile, her voice tinkling with happiness and he could see the shine of happiness in her eyes.
"You happy?" He asked.
"Happiness is mare a word. I can't express what I'm feeling." She said looking at his face which was tickling her heart but eyes filled up with tears.
"I love you. This feeling can't be expressed much through words. I think there won't be enough words to describe the depth of love. It only can tell one's heart and this heart is crazy for you." She was saying with small smile on her lips but a tiny tear left her right eye which was not hidden from him.
"You're crying!?" Asking, hu6s hand went to her face to wipe the tear.
"I don't know what should I say to you right now but I don't want to see you crying. Ever." Caressing her cheeks with his thumb, he said and nodding, she smiled.
"So Mr Azaan what will we do?" She asked, startling him.
"No i mean you don't love me. So I can't expect lovey-dovey talks from you neither I can do as I know you will show me your narrow eyes frowning. We can't romance, can't go on dates as I know you won't kiss me ever, you won't select dresses for me, we won't have actual honeymoon so what should we do." She almost counted a list and he was looking at her with a mouth open expression.
"Girl how can you speak so much? And have you prepared a list of couple things?" He adked, propping up a little on his elbow.
"You're still reading those romantic novels?" He asked, frowning.
"No." She answered immediately.
"I'm going to check your library tomorrow morning and will throw all those romantic novels out. You've becoming obsessed with romance." He said and lay back while she muttered something which he couldn't hear.
"What did you say?" He asked with closed eyes.
"Romance is the common fact of life Mr Azaan." On her voice, he opened his eyes but his heart jumped as he found her on hovering over him, her hands placed on both of his sides, her hair felling down from her shoulder.
"The real fact is that you're extra bold Mrs Azaan." He said, pointing toward her position.
"That I didn't mean." Nervous on her act and as his eyes were tangled with her, she moved back, looked everywhere except him.
"This is because of these novels. You won't find them now." Folding his arms on his chest he asked, closing his eyes once again.
"I hate you." Her words brought a smile to his lips while she lay back on her side, pulled the comforter on her.
"Someone just confessed her love to me a few seconds ago." His words brought a smile to her lips and eyes went to him who turned to other side to sleep.
Her hand went to turned off the light and turning the night bulb on she turned to his side and looking at his back, her eyes closed down with a smile.
