Chapter Six, Finding out

Aurora was feeling excited but also feeling really down this morning when in really it should've been a happy day. Sighing she climbed out of her warm bed and headed downstairs for breakfast and to take her potions only pausing to put on her dressing gown and slippers. She was having her fifth month scan today and finding out the gender of her and Fred's baby, but he wasn't here. He would never see their child grow up and she missed him greatly.

As she made her way down the stairs she ran into George and Charlie. They had moved into Grimmauld Place with them a few months ago. George couldn't stand being in the flat he used to share with Fred, so he had changed Fred's room and the living room into a stock room for his shop, his bedroom was turned into a lab where he would do his experiments and the kitchen was kept the same for the staff to take breaks in. He and Charlie had moved in here as they couldn't stand the way their mother and sister was treating Aurora and refused to go home when they were there. Now months down the line they still hadn't changed and their father and the rest of their siblings were getting quite sick of it to say the least.

So the Grimmauld Place has been used where they all gather together instead of the Burrow. At times even though it was a large house, Aurora often felt it was too crowded. During those moments Dora would either take her and Teddy out of the house to a muggle park for Teddy, who absolutely adored his Godmother and she him as she would spend hours with the sixth month old. The other times Aurora would lock herself away in either the library, her bedroom or dads just to escape and get some solitude. But she didn't have to worry too much about it now as Hermione, Ron and Ginny have returned to Hogwarts to do their eight and seventh years, and the rest had returned to work only popping in on the weekends every so often.

Hermione was insistent that Aurora go and finish her education as well, not understanding she couldn't think about it let alone step in Hogwarts without having a panic attack and only stopped her rants when Remus and Sirius threatened to bar her from entry to their home did she let the matter drop. The only people who really understood how she felt in regards to losing Fred were her dad who had lost Marlene McKinnon in the First War, George who had lost his twin and Andromeda who had lost her husband Ted Tonks at the beginning of the Second War. Everyone else said they did but it was obvious by Hermione's actions she didn't understand.

"How're you feeling Rory?" George asked bringing her out of her thoughts just before she walked into him and Charlie. Aurora blinked a few times as she came out of her thoughts. It was clear she was just moving automatically not even thinking about or seeing where she was going. Aurora tried to smile at George and Charlie but it came out more as a grimace so she just sighed and shrugged her shoulders. She knew she should be happy and she was to an extent but it was another reminder her baby would grow up without it's father.

"Okay I guess." She said hesitantly. "I'm happy about seeing my baby again and finding out what I'm having and happy I have a part of Fred with me but I'm also sad cause he's not here to see his son or daughter." She said brushing away her tears before they could fall. "It's okay Rory." George said pulling the young woman who he saw as a little sister into a tight hug. "Everything is going to be okay and Charlie and I are always here for you."
"Thanks Georgie. Thanks Charlie." Aurora said hugging him back tightly sniffling slightly as he let go and was then pulled into Charlie's bear hug. "Right let's head down and get some food and potions into you." George said as they continued their way down to the kitchen where Sirius, Remus, Dora and Teddy were waiting for them.

"Morning daddy, uncle Remus, auntie Dora, Teddy." Aurora greeted as she walked into the kitchen hugging and kissing her family before taking her seat between her dad and godson who giggled when she kissed his chubby cheek. Sirius got up pulling his daughter into a fierce hug knowing she was going through a range of conflicting emotions right now. "Thanks dad." Aurora said feeling slightly better after her hug with her dad. "Anytime Pup." Sirius said kissing her head before he took his seat placing her potions in front of her as Kreacher placed her weetabix with banana and raisins, a cup of tea and a glass of orange juice in front of her. "Thank you Kreacher." Aurora said softly as she started on her breakfast.
"Mistress Rory is most welcome." The old elf bowed before he popped away to do his cleaning.

"My mum said she'll be here around eleven Rory." Does told her as she fed Teddy which was a struggle as he was more interested in wearing his breakfast then eating it. "Okay." Aurora said once she finished her mouthful. "Do you want me to try?" She asked when her godson kept reaching for her but Remus and Dora shook their heads no. "Thanks Cub but he's got to learn he can't just go to you when he doesn't want to do something." Remus told her smiling at his eldest cub.

Eleven soon came quick enough, Andromeda arriving via the floo in the drawing room. "Hello Andy." Sirius greeted his cousin as he stood from the sofa next to Aurora embracing his older cousin. "Hello Sirius, Remus, Rory, Dora." Andromeda greeted happily. Teddy had gone down for a mid morning nap; George and Charlie were at Weasleys Wizard Wheezes, while Charlie was on leave from the Dragon Reserve in Romania he had decided to help his brother out at his shop so he wasn't in the house bored all day. He loved working there with all the pranks and jokes just not as much as he loved working with dragons.

"Hi Andy." "Hi mum." Was greeted back to the elder woman. Seeing how nervous Aurora was she smiled kindly at the young woman resting her hand on her knee. "Everything is going to be fine Rory don't worry." Andy smiled at her, Aurora was able to bring up a small smile of her own. "Right. Shall we see how your little one is doing? And see if we can see what you're having?" Andy asked a kind smile still on her face as she became all professional. Aurora not able to answer with how tight her throat felt nodded her head as she laid down on the sofa pulling her shirt up.

"Right then let's have a look." Andy said as she performed the spell as a smokey grey film appeared above her stomach showing her baby as a piece of parchment appeared writing everything down that the spell detected. "Hi baby." Aurora whispered softly as she stared at her baby with tears in her eyes a happy but small smile playing at her lips. Taking a quick look at the parchment Andromeda smiled as the spell finished but kept the film up for a bit longer so Aurora could see her baby. As the sound of a little heart filled the drawing room the floo suddenly flared to life behind them, Charlie coming rushing out stopping at sight of Aurora's baby above her stomach.

"What's the matter Charlie?" Dora asked concerned keeping her voice down so Aurora wouldn't hear and become stressed if something was wrong.
"Nothing." Charlie answered. "I just wanted to be there for Rory when she found out. George wanted to come to but the shops busy at the moment." He hastily added when he saw the look in Remus' and Sirius' eyes his ears going slightly red.
"Is everything okay?" Aurora hesitantly asked Andy attracting the attention of the others as they made their way over to her Sirius placing his hands on Aurora's shoulders in comfort, Charlie standing next to her and Remus and Dora stood besides Andy.

"Everything is perfectly fine Rory." Andy says smiling at the young witch as the film disappeared. "You have a perfectly healthy baby girl." She told her smiling sadly as Aurora placed her hand on her stomach rubbing it softly. "Amaya." She whispered.
"What's that Pup?" Sirius asked.
"Before the war Fred and I spoke about what we would name our child if we had a little girl we decided on Amaya Ava Potter-Weasley. I know I'm not married to anyone but I want her to have a part of her dad and I...I was en-engaged to him." Aurora stuttered trying to hold back her floods of tears.

"It's perfect Rory." Charlie said kneeling down in front of her holding her hands softly. "None of us mind or will care if you name her Potter-Weasley. She's half Weasley anyway and you'll have a part of Fred always in your daughter." He assured smiling at her as she hugged him.
"Thanks Charlie." She whispered.
"It's a beautiful name Pup. It'll suit her perfectly." Sirius said sitting besides her pulling her into a tight comforting hug. He knew this was hard on her and she was doing better but she definitely had a long way to go and he would be there for his daughter. Always. We would not fail her a second time.
