TW: blood, injuries

Aldous wasn't sure why Roman was running, but it must have been important.

He figured Roman could use some back-up. Although Roman claimed to be just a simple villager like the rest, Aldous picked up on how coarse his hands were and how poshly the man spoke.

And he and Remus always seemed to be tense around each other.

Remus and Roman both had the same sort of wish, and sometimes Aldous didn't understand how he knew their wishes so easily, because they were mightily confusing.

Both thought a lot about some guy named Thomas, and Aldous had wondered at first if they were pining over the same dude. But it became clear he wasn't a love interest but some kind of god? Perhaps? It sure seemed a lot like that.

Roman made it to a door Aldous had never seen before. In front of it was a snake-faced man, trying to dodge the manticore-chimaera's attacks.

Roman had never seemed to be one for dramatics. But Aldous was proved wrong about that.

Roman summoned a sword, and Aldous had to wonder how, and yelled, "You foul beast! Leave my...sort-of-ally-but-not-really alone!"

Aldous watched in awe as Roman slew the beast with such practised talent he wondered how he never noticed.

Aldous stepped carefully over the huge and dead body of the monster. The snake-man passed out.

 Roman seemed a bit annoyed at this development rather than scared. He jiggled the door handle, only to find t was locked.

"Of course Slither-io locked the door before he came in here!" He hissed out, annoyed, and picked the dude up.

The snake-man had a few gashes on his chest, and a few bruises.

Roman ended up taking him to him cottage.

He lay the unconscious man on the bed as quickly as he could, then washed his hands in a nearby stream as if he was disgusted.

Aldous took a stool and sat next to the man.

Woo. That's done and I do admit this isn't exactly the best time to introduce a recurring character.

Yes, Aldous is gonna be a recurring character from time to time ;)
