“i had to find you,
tell you i need you,
tell you, i set you apart”
-the scientist
coldplay
"Chester Oliver Jones! It's one in the morning and you haven't eaten since you got back from school, neither are you sleeping, when you're usually asleep by ten. May I please know the reason behind this oh-so-amazing behaviour of yours?"
The way she's looking at me right now is scaring the crap out of me.
"Mom, please stop looking at me like that. The glowering is getting scary." I urged.
I hate to admit it, but Case was right. I do like Kat and it sucks because she obviously likes Jay and, Jay, too, likes her because he had the courtesy to pull apart from that kiss, when it was very visible that it was taking everything in him too do that, and I did hear him whisper to her, “One day, kitty. . .One day, you'll do that in a right state of mind and I will gladly response, one day... or so I hope.”
Kat even declared, that she's been wanting to kiss Jay for a long time, and even though she was drunk, the sincerity in her voice was undeniable.
She scoffed and crossed her arms in front of her chest and then muttered something along the lines of, "So much for being altruistic for your own kid. . . He calls you 'scary' "
I'm not a kid! Ugh!
I huffed, "I'll be 18 in a month!"
"Yeah? Well, then, stop throwing these not-annoying-at-all tamper tantrums"
She jabbed, her voice laced with sarcasm.
Don't get me wrong, I really love my mom, but how the hell is she learning to be so damn sarcastic these days?
"I'm not throwing any 'tamper tantrums', mom. I'm just not in the best mood." I rebuked, and started walking out of the living room.
"Wait up, Mister, where are you off to?"
"Jupiter! Wanna join, mother?" I hissed.
"Chess!" She sighs, defeatedly.
"I'm going to my room, mom. Where else?" I grumbled.
"Look, I know something's obviously bothering you, so I'm coming with ya, and you gotta spill."
Ugh! Why do mothers have to be like this? Not that I mind, because mine's like, my best friend, but still! Why are they such know-it-all's?
I sigh, "Okay! Okay! Fine!"
And I tell her. All the events, Casey, Kat and Jay, basically, everything.
I look at her, she seems in deep thoughts.
"Mom? Where is your big reaction? And, what are you thinking about, so deeply?"
"Hmph! Isn't Casey Andrews the same girl, you had a crush on, in middle school and she once came over for some science project? She was such a cute and sweet little girl back then! I bet she's grown hot now..."
I–
SERIOUSLY?
I look at her in utter disbelief. "Are you for real, right now? Is that all you got from this whole situation? I basically just confessed my liking for Kat and my jealousy towards my best friend, and all you got from that is, the hotness of Casey Andrews?!"
"Hey! Puberty can do wonders. Once cute and adorable and in the next few years, da-bomb-dot-com! I mean, look at you! Aren't you a handsome young man, and your good looks, all thanks to me." She smugly replies.
Da bomb dot– WHAT?
"First of all mom, I'm concerned about you, and nobody says 'da-bomb-dot-com' anymore. Secondly, you seriously have no comments at all about the Kat and Jay situation?"
"Look, honey, you're really handsome, and you can get any girl, but, Kat and Jay belong together. And they have been literally in love with each other since middle school, but they were too dumb to figure it out. Until now. And I don't see you and Kat together, I mean you look more better with that Casey girl, anyways! Why don't you agree to her offer? The maybe you'll fall in love and then marry and make bab–"
"MOM! WHAT THE HECK?" I cut her off before she could finish that sentence and stare at her in shock.
"Oooookayyy, maybe I got a little carried away." She admits, giving me a guilty smile.
"A little? You sure about that?"
"Chester! Don't be like that, and you blushed so–"
I don't let her finish and stand up from my bed and start to leave. I'm done.
"Where are you going, now?"
"To take a piss. Wanna join this time too? " I grumble and walk out of the room, not waiting for her response.

I'm struggling to keep my eyes open through the AP Algebra lesson, while Mr. Woods blabber about some formulas.
I really should've slept at my usual, yesterday, because messing with my routine is resulting in killing me through the day.
"Dude, Please do it, come on! I really need your help here" Casey whispers from behind.
"Casey, why do you even want to go with me when there are so many other guys in this school, that you can ask, and, trust me, they would be dying to go with you."
She answers irritatedly, "Because my Instagram following wants me to go with the quarterback! And they have challenged me, they think I can't get the quarterback to go with me to the formal and be my boyfriend, but I've got to prove them wrong! Don't you understand? It's that simple."
Is this chick kidding me?
"Listen here, and listen good, honey. Firstly, your 'Instagram following' isn't the controller of your life. You should do whatever you want, and ask whoever you like. And you don't have to prove yourself to a bunch of people who don't even care about your well being."
She looks shocked for a millisecond. But then she quickly covers it up with a smirk.
"Is the life lesson over, Dr. Phil?"
I roll my eyes at her. Of course. She's going to be like that.
"So tell me, when are you going to agr-"
The bell rings.
I have never in my life, ever, been so grateful for the ringing of the bell, because Case's been asking me the same question since morning and I've been saying no, each time.
And this, is a perfect time to say, saved by the bell!
Because, I literally was saved by it.
heh.
I'll have to stop with this lameness.

As recess rolls around, I am yet, again met with Casey.
She's about to speak, and I presume, she's about to ask me again, when something behind me catches her eye.
"Oh! Would you look at that." She points to something behind me.
As I turn around, the sight in front of me is bad. Really bad.
James and Luke are fighting like they are going to rip each other's heads off.
These boys are idiots. I'm pretty sure they were very jealous of me when I became the captain of the team, and they didn't.
And I've got to stop this fight!
Being the captain it's my duty to keep the team, a team.
So, I run over to them.
