Maria walked around London when saw two men following her. She got curious and turned around a corner.

She waited and saw them "hello there, am I really that interesting you follow me around London?" she asked sarcastically. She was only a teen, why would they follow her?

"There's no time, I'll explain on the way there" Charles said while trying to look calm. He had this smile you can trust, but something he said early on caught her attention.

"Wait... what do you mean on the way there?", Maria asked grudgingly.

"You'll come with us", the second man, named Erik, answered at once.

"I never said I want to" Maria replied. She didn't like his attitude. Suddenly she lost her interest and she regretted the words the moment they were out of her mouth at first time.

"I never said you have to choose between coming with us and getting left behind. You'll come at any rate", the second man said with a bossy tone.

Maria raised and eyebrow and chuckled.

"Cut that attitude because it's getting on my nerves, and you don't want to get in my nerves sweetie" she said and smirked. She didn't like their attitude but couldn't help but being entertained.

"Chill out girl, you really need to calm down..." Charles started talking but Erik interrupted him.

"You' re waisting your time man, don't bother, this bitch won't understand anyway. There's only one way to persuade her to come with us..."

Maria looked at them a little shocked "me to chill out? You are the dudes who were following me and then told me what to do, who needs to chill out now? And what that way might be?" She asked and smiled innocently, she was enjoying it.

An angry Erik grabbed the front of her snug, polo grey shirt and to pull her to the wall. His eyes were sparking "Better be careful when you talk to me like that, young lady, otherwise I'll make you regret it". He loosened his hold and slid his hands down "Also, about the other way... I hope we won't need to show you it".

Maria looked at him a little scared, then she change her expression. She smirked "I don't regret my life, sugar. Now take your hands off of me"'she said smirked "and I don't give a shit about your 'awful' ways, which I am sure they are fake" she said and chuckled, she looked at Charles. He was more soft and nice.

Erik looked ready to kill her, but Charles told him to calm down.

"Look, the truth is we need your help. We really do. It's a very difficult situation which weu can't handle on our own. We can save the world together, Maria, but it will happen only if you'l come with us. You can trust me"

He had a way with words.

Maria smiled softly and nodded "I would come to help you even if you wanted to kill me, I will come with you. I trust you both for a weird reason" she said gently, she took Erik's hands and placed them on his side.

She looked into his eyes and smiled "sorry if I upset" she said with a small smirk.

"It's okay" Erik answered in his laconic way and slid his hands down. He was unable to keep eye contact with the girl.

"Now you're talking!" Charles said in an enthusiastic tone.

Maria smiled and followed them in the hotel room, she sat at the edge of the bed "sorry if I was too harsh, it's my way to survive....defense" she said softly and looked at them with a warm smile "what are your mutation?"

"I can read minds and project my own thoughts into the minds of others. I can also manipulate the minds of others, for example to make myself seem invisible, and project illusions into them, and to induce temporary mental or physical paralysis, loss of particular memories or even total amnesia" Charles answered immediately.

"He is also the most useful idiot and his specialization is not to stick with the original plan and not to adhere to the rules" Eric added and winked his eye. He was in a good mood, now that everything went exactly according to the plan. Maria laughed a bit.

"Thank you mate, I really appreciate it" Charles gave them a sarcastic reply.

"Anytime! And, when comes to me, I'm one of the world's most powerful mutants... no I'm just kidding. I have the ability to manipulate magnetic fields and to control all forms of metal telekinetically"

Maria grinned and chuckled at the two of them, they weren't that bad after all. She started to like them. "Wow! You guys are amazing, well at least you can fully use your gifts" she said softly and smiled, her mutation didn't allow her to completely use it without vanishing the half earth.

"So who sleeps where tonight?" she asked and looked at the two double beds.

"You'l sleep on the first bed, that's for certain" Erik replied without a second thought. "Also, Charles, you take the bed and I'll take the couch. Or we can sleep together in one bed, it doesn't bother me at all"

Maria smiled and nodded "it doesn't bother me either, sleep wherever you want. I will go change" she said smiling, she stood up and took a long t-shirt. She walked inside the bathroom and took her clothes off as she put in her oversized but cute t-shirt, she sighed as it was a little too short but then shrugged and got out. She sat on the edge of the one bed blushing as she tried to pull her shirt so it was covering more skin but failed.

"That's a really nice shirt" Charles said and gave Maria a smile that just seemd so genuinely sweet. Her face turning red.

She blushed and smiled "um...thanks, I think it's a little... revealing though" she said and chuckled as she lied on the bed and smiled at them.

"Don't worry, you can always be yourself around me and Eri-" Charles was interrupted by Erik's snore, who had fallen asleep on Charles bed. He laughed and repeated Erik's previous words "You'l sleep on the first bed, that's for certain. You take the bed and I'll take the couch, it doesn't bother me at all". He looked like he was having fun.

"It doesn't matter, I'll take the couch. Today we had a full day, it's better for everyone to get some rest".

Maria chuckled softly and smiled "um if you want you can sleep on the bed, I don't mind sleeping on the couch. You should rest, you need it more than I do" she said and stood up smiling, she took her pillow and made her way to the couch. She lied there and fell asleep almost immediately.

Before going to bed, Charles stood up near the couch, next to her. He grinned and whispered. "Today has been a non-stop, hectic, crazy day, and I wish I didn't have to emboil you in this crazy story... so I'm thinking about you before I fall asleep. Goodnight, sleep tight!"
