(Kat's POV)

Kittai and I had been walking home together from school when it happened. The day had been awful, both for me and my sister. She'd been hit on again by the same guy.

He'd gotten angry after she denied him. He'd hit her, but he didn't get in trouble for it. He found a way to put the blame on her.

She was still upset over it, even after we'd both gotten out.

Little did we know that upset feeling would soon disappear from her for good.

Suddenly, as we were at a corner, we were attacked. The same guy who'd hit on her now jumped on her.

The first thing he did was to stab her in the side. She collapsed. I screamed and ran at her attacker. He ran off. I was tempted to follow him, but instead I went to my sister's side and, sobbing, I fell to my knees beside her.

I pulled her close to my chest and held her there, crying.

Suddenly, she whispered, "Hey, Kat, he's.." She cut herself off with weak coughing, "He's a real PAIN IN THE SIDE, isn't he...? G-Get it..? Cause..." She trailed off.

I processed it for a moment before huffing angrily, "Now is not the time for puns!"

"Aww come on.." She whined, "It's always KNIFE to end it on a good note.."

"Kittai!" I cried, "Stop!"

"Ah, don't be such a BLOODY downer sis.." She said before making a weak attempt to laugh at her own terrible jokes.

"Oh my god!" I yelled, my sadness replaced by irritation.

"Aww, aren't you happy that I'm in... STABle condition..." She said softly.

I was about to respond, but she suddenly passed out.
