The Hunter's Club

"Identification ladies." The bouncer demands in a deep and intimidating manner in front of the club.

I smile, a sweet and charming smile and hand him my fake ID. He looks it over and hands it back to me. He does the same to the other three girls. Once he is assured that we are of age, he lets us in. We walk into the club to the sound of loud music blaring around us. I glance around the club in search of two things; Rodger and Salvador. Although I have no clue what Rodger really looks like, I know he was working as a bouncer tonight and he should still be in uniform.

Derek was able to figure out the schedule by hacking into their system. Lucky for us, their whole schedule is done electronically. It was no problem for Derek to figure it all out.

My eyes trail around the club. To my dismay, I can't find either of the two men. A moment later I feel a hand land on my shoulder. I turn to see Catalina. She is looking right at me.

"We look strange standing here. It's unnatural like this. Let's go to the bar."

"But I didn't bring any money." I tell her and she leads us over to the bar area.

"Not a problem." she states.

At first I'm confused by here statement. What does she mean not a problem? Then, as we get to the bar, I figure it out. She strides right up to a group of two men. Rina, myself and Liana stay behind, watching her. Catalina giggles to the groups of guys and touches one man's shoulder. She seductively moves her hand up and down as she converses. Then she motions her thumb in our direction. The boys heads look over at our group. Then Catalina smiles as one of the guys talks to her. She nods and giggles at his words. Then she motions her hand, signalling us to come over and join her.

I lead our group, following her lead. I'm not about to be out acted during a mission. Even if the key is seduction and I'm new to it, I can definitely manipulate people into thinking I'm a seductive type person. I may be innocent at heart, but my acting skills are anything but innocent.

We stride over to the group. There are two of them, one of them is dark haired and the other has blonde. They aren't ugly to say the least. Catalina sure knows how to pick 'em.

"Hey ladies," Catalina says, "meet my new friends Jeff and Zack."

"Hey boys," Liana says and snaps into seductive mode. I watch as she slides up next to Zack and touches his arm the way Catalina is doing. Well now we are all being a bit too foreword, I need to simmer the assertiveness.

I give them a shy but slightly seductive smile, toning down the aggressiveness of our group. "It's nice to meet you."

"Um... Hello." Rina says in a very timid tone. She is hiding behind me slightly. Huh, I though she would be a little more confident like she was the first day we tried these outfits on. It's like we switched roles.

The boys smile, content with the group of girls they spontaneously acquired. Jeff speaks up first, he is the dark haired man that Catalina is leaning on. "So how are you ladies doing tonight? What brings you here to this fine establishment? I haven't seen you around before."

I quickly answer, "we are just passing through town. You know, just a few girls going on a road trip, trying to lose track of time and experience new things."

Jeff laughs, "well this is certainly a good club you found yourselves at."

"Best in the county I heard. That's why we're here." I tell him, trying to keep the conversation natural.

He nods his head, "well it's good to know you guys made it to the right place."

That's when I notice something that I hadn't before. These men are wearing security uniforms. Catalina must have spotted that they work for the place, she must be planning to figure out where Rodger is through his coworkers. She is smarter than I thought. But we also need to be careful at this point, because most worker in this club are hunters. We can't let them get suspicious of us.

"What's going on over here? I leave for two seconds and you get a horde of girls?" An unfamiliar voice appears from behind me.

I whip my head around to see a man probably in his early thirties, maybe late twenties. His hair is dark with tinges of gray in it, but the gray tinges look natural and not from old age. He's good looking, and his demeanor tells me he knows it. Catalina looks over her shoulder, her eyes widen at the sight of the man.

His deep voice rings again, "Cat?"

"Rodger..." She says, floored.

"What are you doing here?" He asks her, his voice more angry than concerned.

Before she can answer, Jeff cuts in. "You guys know each other?"

"Yeah," Rodger says, "we hooked up once."

I watch Catalina's face contorts. I don't think they ever actually hooked up judging by her confusion. He must be protecting her. If he told him that they were friends from the past, and these boys know he is a werewolf, then they would suspect her.

Jeff laughs, "well this just got awkward."

Rodger watches her, then his eyes skim around to the rest of our small group. When they land on me, fear hits my system. Judging by the look he is giving me, he knows we are werewolves. This could be bad. Then, his expression changes. It become light and happy. He smiles, and for some reason, it creeps me out.

"Let's buy you ladies some drinks, huh?" Rodger says. He looks at his friends.

Jeff looks hesitant, since he is still next to the girl Rodger once 'hooked up' with. But then he nods in agreement. Zack signals the bartender to come over. He stops right in front of our group.

"Hey Zack, what can I do for you?" The bartender asks, clearly he's friends with him. I guess all employees are friendly in this place.

"Hey Mikey, can we get a round of drinks?" Zack asks in return.

The bartender, Mikey, nods. "sure thing. What would you guys like?"

Rodger cuts in, "how about some house specials?"

The bartender laughs and looks around at us girls, "think everyone can handle it? I make those strong."

Liana smiles, "of course we can handle it. Make it extra strong for us." She says with a wink, clearly digging the bartender. He smirks at her.

"You, pretty young lady, are fierce. I like that. Okay, a round of house specials coming right up." he moves away and Catalina looks at me and smirks.

I roll my eyes, but I'm impressed. She was right, we don't need money to get drinks here. I guess girls get special treatment out in the world. I wonder if this is what it's like for the girls in Howler's Den. They use their seductiveness to lure men in and get them to do things for them. Maybe that's why they enjoy their job, because they think they are in control, but looking at the bigger picture, they really don't have any.

Rodger comes up from behind me and slips an arm over my shoulder. I nearly jump from the surprise. I look up at him. He looks down at me and smiles.

"and what's your name?"

Me? I thought Catalina was supposed to handle this. "My name is-"

"Tracy" Derek whispers through my earpiece.

"Tracy." I tell him with a seductive smile. Rodger smiles.

"Nice name, but it's a little old fashioned, don't you think?"

"I would have picked differently, but unfortunately for me, a name is one of the things we have to carry with us our whole lives but we have no control over." I tell him nonchalantly.

"Parents are good at giving us problems like that." He tells me.

I nod in agreement. "You can say that again."

"A round of house specials for the group." The bartender appears in front of us at the bar. He reveals seven drinks in clear plastic cups.

The boys start shuffling the drinks around the group. I grab mine and look down. The contents are blue and have a fruity scent to them. I can't quite place my finger on what kind of drink it is.

"What's in this?" I ask, I really can't pin what's in it. Then again, I don't know alcohol very well considering it doesn't really effect us as much as humans. It takes a ton to get us drunk so I don't see the point in wasting the money.

The bartender answers, "house made blueberry vodka and juice. But mostly vodka. Beware of the strength of the drink. I'm not kidding when I say it's strong."

I watch as Rodger takes a sip. He doesn't cringe or anything. I shrug and go to take a sip as well, but something feels weird. I hesitate and pretend to sip it. Somethings off here.

Liana coughs, "wow, you were right, that is strong."

I notice Rina sip it next to me. She cringes at the taste. "Not easy on the throat..." She comments.

Jeff laughs, "are you kidding? This stuff is great. I can't even feel it."

"Same, I thought you ladies said you could handle it." Zack says with a cocky smirk plastered on his face.

My eyes dart over to Catarina who is currently recovering from the drink. Just looking at her reaction tells me that she hates it too. I pretend it's gross as well, scrunching my face up in disgust.

"It's not the best drink I've ever had." I comment, joining in with the other girls.

The bartender surprisingly doesn't look very offended, "hey, you said you wanted it strong. I wasn't going to hold back."

Rina turns to look at me. I can tell somethings wrong, I just can't place my finger on it. She reaches out and touches my arm. She smiles, I can tell it's feigned. Then she says, "hey, I really need to go to the bathroom. Mind coming along?"

"Sure," I turn to Catalina and Liana, "do you guys want to come too?"

I give them a look that signals they should come with us. But apparently my eye communicating skills are a bit rusty, because they don't catch on at all.

They shake their heads. "No thanks," Liana says as she leans on Zack's arm.

"I went before we left." Catalina confirms.

Well, at this point, there's nothing I can do. I nod, in order to keep things inconspicuous. Rina and I wander off toward the bathroom. Before we actually get to the bathroom, Rina pulls me over to the side where there is a lack of people. When we are practically isolated, she clamps her hands on my arms.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Something was weird about that drink."

I didn't drink any, so I push her for more information. "What do you mean?"

"The alcohol," she tells me, "wasn't alcohol. I've had drinks before and that's not the type of burn it gives your throat. You don't feel it?"

I give her a sheepish look, "I actually got suspicious of it early and didn't sip it just in case..."

She sighs, "well that's good. But seriously I don't know why but I feel weird about this."

"Same," I tell her. "When we go back, don't drink anymore."

"Ok, I won't."

Just then, a man on his cell phone approaches us. It appears we stopped near the back door, and that's where he is headed. With the phone firmly in his grip, his face looks upset. I listen to him as he gets close to us.

"What do you mean you're not coming in tonight? You own this place, what could possibly be so important? Even a ton of our workers bailed tonight, what's up with that? We are extremely low staffed and you're-" he exits out the back door to continue his conversation.

I look over at Rina. "I think he was talking to Salvador. He's the owner of this place. So that means he isn't here."

"that could be good for us. There's less of a chance we get caught this way."

Just then a crackling is heard in my ear piece. I cringe a bit until his voice comes in clearly.

"Lucia, Rina, can you two hear me?" it's Derek. His voice appears calm, but I can hear a hint of worry.

"What's up Derek?"

"They know."

"What?"

Rina's eyes go wide as she looks at me. "What do you mean they know?"

"Get out now, whatever that drink was, it made Liana weak. One of the guys is trying to drag her off somewhere and Catalina disappeared too."

"Catalina disappeared? With Jeff?"

"No, Rodger." He sighs, "I think the drinks had some form of wolf's bane. I'm sending the boys in, get out while you can before someone gets you."

I push Rina towards the front of the club. I respond to Derek quickly. "Don't send them in. It will start a scene. I will go after them."

"Lucia, the drinks were filled with wolf's bane."

"Weren't you listening to our conversation? I didn't drink any of it." I turn toward Rina and say, "go return quickly. I'm going now."

She looks worried, "are you sure you don't need help?"

"I'm sure, now hurry back safely." She nods in understanding and scurries off to the door.

I observe the whole club. I check the bar, as I suspected, no one is left there.

"Where are they Derek?" I ask. My feet start to moving under me, hurridly trying to search for them.

"They went into the hotel somewhere. Honestly, we thought they were both strategizing and using a plan. I wasn't suspicious until Liana started complaining that Zack was too strong for her to pull away from. I have no clue where Catalina is, the connection with her earpiece lost signal. The last visual I had was her getting off the elevator on floor five of the hotel with Rodger."

"Shit." I hiss under my breath. "Where is Liana now?"

"Floor two, room two-zero-one."

My walk is brisk and swift. I make it look like I'm just a fast walker. I try to be as inconspicuous as possibly. I sneak through the club. There are three exits in this club. The normal entrance with the bouncer, the back door, and the hotel entrance. That entrance connects the hotel and the club.

Well, let's hope I'm not too late.
