Karma is a Bitch

"Hey asshole!" Greyson growls, as he barges into the room Damien had booked with one of the women from Howler's Den.

I huff in annoyance and run after Greyson. He's being irrational, he shouldn't be doing this! This is going against everything Damien said to do! I stop in the doorway, following in behind Greyson. I catch the door before it closes. I find Greyson lunging over the bed and grabbing onto a naked Damien. Greyson's large hand is wrapped around Damien's neck. He pulls Damien off the bed and stands with the struggling Alpha-to-be in his grasp. Greyson squeezes and Damien makes a choking sound. Damien claws at Greyson's hands but his grip never loosens.

"Greyson stop!" I yell out to him.

"I'm not stopping." Greyson growls. "Damien I've had enough of your shit. You've put Lucia through enough pain and I thinks it's about time you get what you deserve."

"Put me down," Damien grumbles through shaky breaths.

"Fuck you," Greyson growls, squeezing his grip harder around Damien's throat.

A moment later I watch Damiens hand form into a wolf claw. "Greyson watch out!" I scream as his hand flings up towards Greyson's face.

Thankfully, Greyson's able to dodge it in enough time, but consequently, he releases Damien. Damien falls onto the bed, coughs for a quick moment, then, with black beady eyes, glares up at Greyson. I can feel the hatred seething from his stare. Those eyes grow even more dark and the skin around his face grows fur and a long snout. The rest of his body bulges and expands as he shift into a midnight black wolf. He growls ferociously, a hint of Alpha tone in it, making me flinch a bit. Greyson growls back, clearly unaffected by Damien's intention to scare.

I'm about to wonder who will make the first move when Damien lunges at Greyson.

Stealthily, Greyson takes a step to the left, just barely dodging Damien's attack. Damien jumps at him again; they keep this cat and mouse charade going for a while. I glance over onto the bed and notice the service girl shaking under the covers of the bed. A moment later the two tumble around, onto the bed nearly smashing into the shaking girl.

I quickly run over to her and reach my hand out, "Come with me, hurry."

She looks at me, fear in her eyes, "You're... you're trying to help me? But... but I... I ... with your mate..."

"It' okay, it's not like you had a choice. Now hurry," I whisper, I hear the shredding of clothes in the next second and out of the corner of my eye I watch Greyson shift into his dark brown wolf. He and Damien continue to duke it out. Growling and piercing in to each other's skin with their sharp teeth.

I feel the girl grab hold of my reached out hand and quickly I pull her off the bed. We run for the door. I turn to make sure Damien's distracted with Greyson and manage to get the girl out of the room. I release her hand and point to the dressing room. "Go in there and tell the other girls to stay put."

The rest of the people in the club are frozen, staring at me and wondering what the noises are in the room. The service girl next to me flees towards the dressing room, nearly knocking over the red haired women storming in my direction.

"What the hell is going on over here?" She growls. "What is that incessant noise-" She's cut off by the loud howl of pain from Damien. I can tell it's him due to my wolf not fully cringing at the sound. If it was Greyson, my wolf would have been worried. The red-haired woman looks at me. "Is someone fighting in there?"

She doesn't even allow me to answer. She pushes past me and peers into the room. She squeals loudly, practically piercing my eardrums. "Stop it! No fighting! Leave him alone!" She turns, "Someone call the Alpha, hurry!"

"No!" I growl and lunge towards her. I cover her mouth and she squirms under me, mumbling into my hand. I turn and glare at the people around me. "No one call the Alpha, do you hear me?"

I scan the room. All eyes are on me.

If someone calls the Alpha, Greyson is screwed. He outwardly started a fight with Damien. The only thing I can hope for now is that Greyson wins this fight and he and I can make a quick escape before it's two late.

The red-haired woman squirms in my grasp. The growls and snarls continue from behind me. Every once in a while I hear a whimper, but most of them are coming from Damien, which is a good sign. I continue to scan the frozen crowd. A moment later, I see a male backing aways from the stage. My eyes lock onto him. He turns and bolts towards the door. I growl and run full throttle at him. I race through the club, my feet pounding against the floor as I run through nicely set tables. I reach him at the large entry doorway and tackle him to the floor through the large curtains and into the flashy pink hallway. He  lands with a forceful thud and I straddle his belly. I pin the large man down to the ground.

He bucks underneath me, and I try my best to keep him steady. A moment later a body flashes by me and runs out the club and out into the hall. My eyes open in shock as I realize it's the red-haired women.

"Shit," I mumble under my breath.

I look down at the main I have pinned.

"I'm really sorry about this," I pull my arm back and whip it across his face. His body goes numb beneath me as he passes out. I flick my hand around, trying to make it less sore. I stand up. At this rate, I will never catch up to her.

I turn and run back into the club. I race through and towards the room where I left Greyson and Damien. I peer in to find blood splashed all along the entire room. The two wolfs are still wrestling, but the brown one is on top.

"Greyson, we have to go, now!" I call out to him.

His body shakes at my words. He has Damien down in a hold. He squeezes the throat a bit, and Damien gasps for breath. I notice Damien's eyes rolling back in his head a bit, so Greyson drops his throat. He drained Damien of oxygen enough to knock him out. Greyson turns to me with his giant wolf head and trots over to my side.

"Are you okay?" I ask him soflty. My hands reach out and cup his face. He's got claw marks and scratches all over him. His jowls are covered in blood, hopefully not his own. My heart squeezes and I lean my head down and rest our foreheads against one another, "you're such an idiot." I sigh. "We need to go, now. Someone went to go get the Alpha."

I pull my head away from his and remove my hands from his large face. He nods, agreeing we need to get out of here. I ignore all the stares from those looking at us in the club. We run through the club and out to the pink hallway. We take off full force and up the stairs to the first floor. When we get there, I peer left and right. It looks clear.

We rush into the hallway, when suddenly I hear a loud cloud of barks, growls, and howls. My eyes widen. The noise is coming from both sides of the hallways. They know where we were and they have us surrounded.

My feet come to a halt. I turn to Greyson. "What do we do? They're coming after us from both sides."

He growls lowly, looks down both sides of the hallway. He can hear them all coming too. We're literally trapped. The Howler's Den has only one exit, so there's no point in going back down there. So what do we do?

Greyson's large wolf sighs. He takes a step closer to me, leans his large head gently on my stomach. He nuzzle into my stomach, as if showing his love to me and the baby. I reach my right hand up and gently place it on his head.

Is he, is he admitting our defeat? But we can still fight. I'm not willing to give up just yet.

"Greyson," I whisper and gently stroke is head. "I'm going to fight them with you, this isn't over."

The growls and howls grow immensely closer, I can tell everyone is right around the corner. Greyson takes a step back from me. My hands fall to my sides. He looks up at me. For a quick moment I can feel all his love through his gaze. Then, his eyes grow dark. He lunges forward, knocking me to the floor.

I hit the ground with a light thud. The sound of paws pounds into the hallway. I can feel the presence of others around us. They stamped closer and closer. Greyson pins my shoulders to the ground with his large paws, holding me in place. He growls loudly and lunges his large snout down to my neck.

"Get away from her," A loud voice booms through the hallway. My whole body shakes at the frightening Alpha tone that's released from Alpha Serge's mouth.

Greyson's body freezes. I feel his teeth touching each side of my neck. He's put me in an extremely vulnerable spot, but I don't feel threatened. He won't hurt me, I know he won't by why did he turn on me? It's going to make things that much worse for him.

Realizing that Greyson's frozen after the Alpha used his tone, the alpha barks another order. "Seize him!"

The pounding of paws and feet clammer closer to us. My eyes widen as Greyson pulls his mouth away from my neck. His eyes meet my own. "Why?" I ask him searching between his two eyes.

I can see sadness seeping into his eyes but they have a bit of hope. Not for him, but for me. And that's when it hits me. He pinned me down, made me look like a victim. He didn't want me to be punished along side him.

Hands and teeth grab onto Greyson and drag him off of me. I lean up and quickly stand to my feet as pack members drag Greyson over to the Alpha. They slam Greyson's large wolf to the ground, Greyson isn't even struggling. His face is pressed to the floor.

The Alpha glares down at him, "I never expected one of the Squad members to turn on our pack like this. After we gave you shelter, food, and a job. This is how you betray us? You allegedly attack my son and now I see you've attacked Lucia."

The Alpha squats to the floor and glares into Greyson's soul. "Kill him." The Alpha barks.

"No!" I scream and run over to the group holding Greyson down. Everyone freezes. They were about to follow orders, but considering I am Damien's mate, they're at a loss of what to do.

"Lucia, back down." The Alpha barks at me as I reach his side.

His tone shaking my body. I struggle to resist his orders. "Sir, you told me that if I ever needed anything I shouldn't hesitate to ask you. And right now, this is going to be the only thing I will ever ask. I don't want you to kill him."

The Alpha growls. He stands, towering over me. His pitch black eyes are darkened as he glares down at me, making me feel belittled. "How could you ask that for someone who has just attacked you and my son. There is no other repercussion for that action than death."

"I know that what has happened is bad. But on the last mission I was on, I was left in a situation that I would have died. All my pack mates abandoned me, including Damien, except for one. Greyson stayed and saved me. If he hadn't done that, then I wouldn't be here right now carrying Damien's child." I lie about the last part, but right now is a life or death situation. I need to use every piece of information I can.

The Alpha growls loudly, "I don't think that atones for him attacking you and my son."

Here goes nothing. "Greyson liked me, back when I was leading the squad." I tell the Alpha. "It's no excuse but when I told everyone how happy I was that I was carrying Damien's kid, I think he went haywire. He hasn't killed anyone, I think it was just rage over the news. I don't think he deserves death for that, especially since he's saved me before."

I can see the Alpha trying to process this information.

"To be clear, the only reason I think he shouldn't be killed is because he saved my life and gave me the opportunity to continue generations of this pack. He's the reason that I'm here."

I hear a loud, but annoyed sigh. "Where is my son?" He growls.

"Down in Howler's Den. I presume he's being taken care of. From what I saw he's only got a few scratches," more or less.

He bends down and glares at Greyson. Once again peering into his soul. He reaches down with his large hand, grabs the scruff on his neck. Alpha Serg turns Greyson's head to look at me. "Remember that face." The Alpha barks. "She's the only reason you're still breathing." Then he slams Greyson's head forcefully onto the floor.

I watch as Greyson's eyes go from fully conscious to dazed in a matter of seconds. The Alpha releases Greyson's scruff and his head falls to the floor, passed out. My heart thumps nervously in my chest.

"Exile." The Alpha growls, turning and walking towards the entrance of the stairs that lead down to Howler's Den. "I don't want to see his face anywhere near here again, send him to the furthest point of the forest and throw him there."

The Alpha disappears down the stairs. The rest of the men pick up Greyson's unconscious body. He's completely limp in their arms. They start dragging him away.

"Let me come with you-" I start to beg when suddenly a voice comes from the doorway.

"Lucia get over here, now."

My heart thumps nervously in my chest. It's the only person who could ruin everything I've just done to save Greyson's life.

"Damien," I whisper and turn toward the naked man standing in the doorway. The Alpha is right in front of him. He must have gained consciousness, shit this isn't good. I gulp. My eyes glance to the side as I watch the men taking Greyson away. I need to stall Damien so he doesn't change the Alpha's mind.

"Get your ass over here right now."

I hurriedly run to his side. "Are you... Are you okay?" I ask him, worry laced in my tone.

He looks taken aback by my reaction. "Wait, you want to know if I'm-"

"Of course," I cut him off and reach up to touch near one of his wounds. "This looks bad. Should I tend to them? My mom once taught me first aid. I can do my best to help."

He growls, "What kind of trick-"

"Damien," I growl at him and put my hands on my hips as if I'm being stubborn, "the only thing that's important right now is your health. I can't have my mate being injured, especially not with the baby announcement ceremony coming up. Let's get you back to our room and get you cleaned up."

"But-"

"She's right," The Alpha sighs, "thankfully your wounds don't look too deep, but you most certainly don't look good. The faster you apply first aid the faster they will heal. Let your mate take care of you."

Damien huffs and glares at me, clearly he has no idea where they are taking Greyson and he has no clue why I'm acting this way. Yet, he won't argue with his father. He nods in agreement, complying to our wishes. I sigh in relief as I relies the immediate danger threatening Greyson's life is gone, but that's not going to change the fact that Greyson's passed out and they're going to be throwing him out into the woods at some random destination. I'm going to need to sneak away tonight, to find him out there. I don't want him to be alone and I definitely want to be with him. I just hope that I can find him.
