Chapter 25 - Found
Another double update!
Sang
The wait was terrible.
We had already been waiting an hour at Ryder's house for his men to find the right warehouse. I was at the edge of boredom. All my kids knocked out and were on pain killers. My boys were brooding in the corner, probably thinking over seeing me torture that man.
The worst part is I have no regrets. The man deserved it and if I could go back in time, I would do the same damn thing. I would do anything to protect the people I love. I consider the Blackbourne Team as the men I love-loved. I don't know anymore.
Why did they have to come back and stir up all these feelings?
Why can't I live like I did after they left me?
The past that I thought locked away deep in my head comes crashing back to the front of my mind. My dark thoughts come back to bring me down memory lane, to places I rather forget, to moments better left locked deep within my head.
"Sang, Sang!" a voice brings me out of the nightmares of my past.
How long was I stuck in my head for? This hasn't happened in ages, I thought I had control over it by now. I guess not, shit!
"Yes?" I reply trying not to sound like I was just experiencing my worst memories in my head.
North gives me a look, "We've been calling your name for the past five minutes."
I give him a fake smile, "Just thinking about Volto."
Victor clearly doesn't believe me, but he lets it go, "Ryder called. He said to meet him in his office."
I jump off the couch, "What are we waiting for then?"
Nathan answers, "Well, we don't know where it is and you were daydreaming."
"Oh right-" I say.
I lead the way up the stairs and down the hallway. Ryder's office was pretty protected ad insulated to avoid assassinations or for a police raid to find it quickly. It was rather smart actually. If I wasn't leading the boys, they wouldn't see the door.
I opened and called out, "Hey, Ryder. What's the news?"
Ryder smiled and stood up, "We found them."
Nathan rushed forward, "Really! Where?"
He chuckled, "Calm down, man! Your guys are at a warehouse own by several different shell companies. Volto covered his tracks well. The only thing my techies could find is that most of his funding came from some shit called the Academy."
We all froze and Victor cleared his throat, "Sorry what?"
Ryder shrugged, "I think it's the government, but it's called the Academy. Sang knows, she caught some of their spies once. She didn't let me kill them, but cried afterwards. I assume you are all Academy."
Nathan stared at him open-mouthed, "How? What?"
I smirk, "Ryder is smarter than most people give him credit for and very observative."
North turned to Silas, "Είναι ασφαλές για αυτόν τον μαφιόζο να ξέρει για την Ακαδημία;" (Is it safe for this mafia man to know about the Academy?)
From the looks of it, the Academy is corrupt. We are no longer a part of them and do not owe them our loyalty)
I remind them, "Και εγώ μιλάω ελληνικά, απλά να το θυμάσαι." (I speak greek too, just remember that.)
Ryder takes back control of the conversation, "My men have been discreetly taking out guards and replacing them with my men. They are all wearing masks, so it is easy. Those who are with us have a red bandana on. The others you can kill. I already put the address in the GPS of one of the cars, the black one."
I smile, "Thanks Ryder. What are you going to do?"
He informed me, "I am staying here, I cannot have anyone knowing I was involved directly. I'll watch the kids and inform them of what happened when they wake."
I give him a hug, "Whatever you do, the kids stay in the house and on bed rest."
Ryder smirks, "I'll do my best. Also, my men saw Volto enter the building and never leave."
I wave at my boys, "C'mon, it's time to get your brothers back."
We head out and into the car Ryder provided for us. I follow the GPS's instructions and we arrive at a very normal warehouse. The only guards we pass are ones with red bandanas and they do not stop us. It seems that Ryder's guys took out most of the guards. That makes my life easier for us.
Stopping the car basically in front of the entrance, I get out with my huge ass gun. I was using an AK-47
Nathan was using an M16A4.
Silas had chosen an M4A1.
North was holding in one hand a G3A4, some grenades and some fucking C4.
I approve their choices. In silence, we stormed the warehouse. We must have made quite a sight to those watching. All five of us working like a well-oiled machine. So close to our goal, no one even hesitated to shoot and kill any guard without a red bandana. It was a beautiful deadly dance, dodging and shooting.
I would find myself mesmerized by this mess of beautiful contradictions. It is a fight for my family, either my last fight or the last time Volto does.
I repeat the rhyme above in my head, finding the ability to focus despite the distractions. Each of my movements have a point. I take out my throwing knives and send it into the throat of a guard. It is a fight full of blood.
We burst into the next room continuing our onslaught. I am stuck in my mind, the movements becoming automatic. To kill, to destroy those who dared touched what is mine. The boys are mine whether they know it or not. I don't care what this makes me. Am I monster if I kill any person who poses a threat?
I remember one of my first training sessions. Our instructor at the Birthing Place in Germany was very good. She has one motto :
If you are seen, shoot first and ask questions later. Aim for their head, and you'll be sure to kill them.
That woman put in the minds of each and every one of us that our survival came before anyone else. Ingrained the instincts so deep that they remain after ten years.
I'm not feeling very human anymore.
Soon enough, the room we broke the door down too had cells. Nine cells to be exact with five lives bodies and four dead ones. I grimace at the putrid smell. It's nasty and I am shaken from my dark mind.
Victor calls, "Owen? Sean? Luke? Gabriel? Kota?"
I hear various forms of affirmatives ranging from grunts to a string of curse words. Good enough for me, they are alive, aren't they? North rushes over to Luke while Victor, Silas, Nathan and I unlock their chains.
I ask, "How are y'all feeling?"
Gabriel gives me a look, "Like fucking shit. How are the kids?"
I nod, "Safe at Ryder's house."
Sean informs me, "I have several broken ribs and so does Owen. I don't know for anyone else though." With the confirmations that my boys are safe, I get up and move towards the door. I have another mission to complete.
Owen tries to stop me, "Where are you going Sang?"
I tilt my head to the side with a confused expression on my face, "To go kill Volto, of course."
