“Caleb! It was a dream!”
Stella watched as her husband ran around the little cabin gathering items.
“The amulets,” he turned to face her, his nude body still on display, “Stella..please?!”
“No...” Stella said, holding on to hers, “We can stay here, Caleb. We can’t keep running.”
Caleb stepped closer, already noticing her small belly showing.
“I MUST take care of you,” Caleb said, “Now, gather your things and we’ll make sure Sven knows we’re coming..”
“But,-”
“I swear I will make us a home somewhere safe,” he said, “We’re too exposed here.”
“And you don’t think we will be with the fae?”
Stella sighed, but she began to gather a few items for the journey.
“We’ll go deep..” he said, “Deeper into the forest—into the mountain caves.”
“A cave?”
“I cannot lose you! Do you not see this?!”
Stella shook her head, “I see that you had a dream,-” She turned to face him, “Do you have sight?”
“I don’t know..” Caleb shrugged, “If I do, I saw you..I saw..”
“You saw me die?”
“Yes,” Caleb said, “Right outside these walls—not far from here. I will do everything in my power to keep you safe and I know you’d do the same for me.”
Dressed and ready to go, they let Sven and Sarai know to send a carriage.
“The best thing for you to do is be in one of our carriages,” Sarai said through the amulet, “They will not suspect you.”
“You must got passed the forest and where you were wed,” Sven said, “Lonnie and the centaurs will guide you to the caves.”
Stella leaned into Caleb as one of the nymphs took the reins of the carriage.
“I have never seen unicorns up close before.”
Caleb smiled, “Good thing I had that dream then. We get to see all of the enchanted ones.”
They rolled through the forest, passed Sven and Sarai, headed towards the centaurs who were quick to guide them the rest of the way.
“It isn’t a cave like you think,” Lonnie reassured Stella, “It is a home I made for safety and now I am giving it to you as a wedding gift.”
“Thank you,” Stella said, “Thank you for all of this.”
Caleb nodded, “We have more protection now than ever.”
“I will check the hags,” Lonnie said, “This might be a connection we need to account for.”
“You keep yourself safe,” Stella said as the centaurs rode off, leaving the two in the cave.
“It’s furnished,” Caleb said, “Everything is here. It’s actually cozy.”
“I only want to be with you, alpha. It doesn’t matter where I am,” Stella told, “Oh, look! Another room for a nursery perhaps?”
Caleb checked the rest of the cave and smiled, “We will turn it into a nursery for our daughter.”
Stella’s eyes widened, “Our...daughter?”
Caleb nodded, “I...well, I think it’s a girl...I saw her in my dreams.”
“A daughter..” Stella placed her hands on her stomach, “A girl.....do you like the name,-”
“Astrid?”
“How did you know,-”
“You’re terrible at hiding your thoughts from me!” Caleb laughed, “Astrid it is, my love...”
