(This is a flashback)
"So, this Beta is going to be traveling through here. Now right here," She states as she points at the spot that haunts my future, "is where we will jump him to take him down."
I look up and spot her green eyes, being as close as I am now. I notice gold specks flickering across the colors, light blue dances in secret with the green, thick eyelashes surround her big bright eyes. She looks up into my green eyes as I nod my head taking in the plan. I run my fingers through my dark beige blonde hair as I brush it up into a ponytail. I hold it for a moment before shaking my head and letting it fall back down on my back what I would do for a band to put my sweaty hair up.
"Come on, let's go. We don't have much time." I nod my head obediently at Roselynns words; she always called the shots on our bounties, she had been a rogue longer than I, it seemed only fair. She shifts into her dark brown wolf, and I change into my dark beige blonde wolf.
"Finally, I was wondering when we were going to leave." I smile at Sinia's voice floating through my head. We had been camping in this place for a week, stalking the beta.
We take off through the woods, and I follow behind Roselynn carefully, making sure not to stray behind. As we get closer to the spot, the fur on my neck stands, and my nose twitches. "Wait, something is up, I smell other rogues." My ears twitch at Sinia's words.
"I'm sending a distress call to Abigal just in case there are too many rogues," Sinia states firmly, and I smile at the protective smart wolf of mine.
After being rejected and banished from my pack, Sinia is all I have left; she is the only reason I am still alive. Of course, Roselynn has also helped. Though Sinia and I are much closer, Sinia is my wolf; she is everything to me. The only reason I didn't kill myself after the rejection is because of Sinia. She is my savior.
Though she always worries too much.
"Sinia it's fine, I'm sure Roselynn called back up or something, I mean the bounty is huge for this Beta, we are going to be set for life!" I cheerfully boast as I pick up our pace.
Yet something was wrong; I was too much in my naive world to sense it. Sinia, Sinia could, so without my knowledge, Sinia sent out another call for help to Abigal. Sinia notices the still of the forest; everything was calm, too calm. The birds were nowhere in sight; animals had seemed to vanish, even the trees look as though they were trying to hide. They could also taste the thickness in the air.
Though I didn't realize this until it was too late, I broke through the trees into a small circle of grass, surrounded by rogues. I shift into my human form, confused as I don't spot Roselynn. I instantly go on guard as I turn in circles looking for her in the swarm of rogues surrounding me. I place her in the arms of another rogue, tears running down her cheeks.
"It was a trap. There is no beta, we have been lied to." She cries, and I shake my head as the rogue then throws her to the ground in front of me. I look around, ten rogues. I size them up as I go to Rose and help her up.
"We can take them," I whisper, and Rose eyes widen in surprise, her crooked nose twitches lightly, something she does when she is nervous. I give her an encouraging smile. "You take five, and I'll take the other five," I state as I block out my growling wolf, who seems to be trying to tell me something as the hair on my neck slightly stands. Rose smiles at me and nods. I turn my back to her as she seems to do the same.
A rogue then charges to me. He lands a punch on my cheek, but I immediately recover as I dodge another blow, I bring my foot up and hit him behind the knee causing him to fall before I roundhouse kick him, another rogue comes to me and as I get ready to throw a punch a sharp pain goes through my back as I take in a deep breath, before letting out a small scream, the rogues stop pursuing me as they look behind me, a knowing look passes them as they nod and take a step back. I feel the dagger leave my back, and someone grabs my shoulder, turning me around. My eyes widen as I see the familiar blue eyes with green specks staring into my green eyes.
"Hey girlie, yeah, see, I lied, I have big plans, and you are just too weak and too big-hearted to be apart of them, so you have to be, well, taken from the equation." Rose smiles as tears well up in my eyes, how could she. Roselynn and I had been friends for two years now; we have been taking care of each other and doing bounties together. How could she do this to me?
"What?" It is the only word I can say, which causes a smirk to take over her features and show off her chipped front tooth.
"You see, your mate, he was right, you have no real worth, you are just a lousy rogue waiting to die so that a stronger rogue can take your place." Roselynn giggles as I pant, my breathing becoming harder.
"Please, don't do this, please," I beg her as my vision becomes blurry for a second. A short chuckle escapes Rose as she brings the dagger back up, more tears escape me as I see my blood covering the blade.
"Nothing personal, girlie, just business." Roselynn states as she plunges the dagger slicing straight through my lung, she takes the dagger out again before taking my shoulder and bringing me forward to her as she sticks the blade in my stomach. A weak scream leaves me as my body shakes. Blood is pouring from the two wounds, and I wince at the sound of air, leaving my pierced lung.
"Abigal is on her way, keep her distracted, it's going to be okay." Sinia's frantic voice reaches me in my mind. I'm too weak to say anything back. I feel hands in my hair as my head is forced to look up into Roselynn's eyes, I didn't know my head had turned down.
"Oh no girlie, I want to see the life drain from your pathetic ugly blue eyes." She then smiles even more extensive. "Oh, by the way, that week I went on a solo mission, I just went and fucked your mate, Jacob, oh yeah good lay, tremendous dick energy." A small peak of red hot adrenaline fills me, causing me to snarl at her.
I spit the blood pooling in my mouth at her, again she laughs. "I win, girlie, you lose, like always," with that, Roselynn twists the dagger that is still in my stomach, causing a scream to leave me at the pain that takes over me. Roselynn let's go, and I fall to the ground on my back, a yelp leaves me from the wound on my back. I hear them all leave, my vision going in and out as time seems to slow down.
"Hang on; everything is okay, don't give up, we will get through this!" I hear Sinia's voice but its distant, I close my eyes once more and accept the darkness calling me.
***(Still a flashback)
I hear distant chanting, before slight whispering, my eyes open and I squint up at the sun, I close my eyes before turning my head away from the sun and opening them again. I hear a gasp as I see a red-eyed Abigal and a still crying Danny; I notice three other girls around us dressed in dark-colored robes.
"Her eyes and hair are black, is that normal?" Abigal asks one of the girls who snickers.
"We just brought her back from the dead, none of this is normal." The woman explains, causing Danny to glare at her.
"Maze, please." He begs her with his eyes causing her to sigh. I watch them confused at what is going on.
"Sinia?"I call out in my mind; nervousness settles into me, I can't feel my wolf. I jolt up as I close my eyes tightly as if I could feel her if I just concentrated harder.
"SINIA?"
