BEING AN ORPHAN is hard. But finding out that you're a werewolf? One might argue that it's even harder.

Since the death of her parents as a young child, for her whole life Ophelia Stone had hopped around a variety of foster homes. To put it simply, all of them sucked. Until one night, a stranger found the six year old girl bloodied, beaten and bruised on the side of a street. Little did she know, that man was going to change her entire life. Ophelia didn't believe in a higher power; up until she met him. She knew that someone or something must have sent him to save her, because he was her saving grace.

The Original vampire Niklaus Mikaelson's heart softened at the sight of the abused child, finding parts of her within himself. So, he took her with him and they became something that neither took lightly. They became family.

Quickly, Ophelia became accustomed to her new life as a werewolf. Running through the woods in the middle of the night was a feeling that couldn't be put into words. When she finds out that her older brother is part wolf just like her, she declares that she won't stop at anything to help him free that part of himself. If that 'anything' meant murdering a few people to help him find his happiness and purpose? Ophelia would burn down the entire fucking world for Klaus. This? No, this was nothing.

After a debacle in Mystic Falls and when Klaus finally breaks his curse, he offers his sister a once in a lifetime opportunity. To become a hybrid just like him.

Due to Ophelia describing her werewolf gene as a 'curse,' she got unlucky with the sire bond like the multiple hybrids that were created. The difference between herself and them is that Klaus would do anything and everything to help her break the unnecessary consequence and disadvantage that came with the godly power. He knew that Ophelia was loyal to their family, and their family alone. She didn't need a magical link between the two to make it obvious.

Ophelia had been reborn as part vampire, and God she loved every single moment of it. How the blood tasted on the tip of her tongue, the ecstasy she felt when biting into the jugular vein of someone sprinting away from her in terror, or how content she felt when draining that same person completely dry.

However, when Ophelia's girlfriend Bonnie breaks up with her, that marks the beginning of things only going down hill from then on. Finding out that her family was abruptly relocating to New Orleans was the breaking point. Really, being a Mikaelson, she should have been accustomed to such abrupt changes with little to no warning. Yet, it didn't feel any easier. So, Ophelia does what any vampire does when things become too much to handle.

Ophelia Stone turns off her humanity.

This book will contain: underage drug and alcohol use, adult language, carnage, slaughter, butchery, maiming, mangling, killing, blood, detailed descriptions of struggles with mental health, suicidal themes, self harm, brief mentions of child abuse (nothing is in detail, even more brief than Isaac's), detailed torture, and Jackson Whittemore. Cause let's be real, early Jackson is the only one needed. If I don't put a warning on a chapter that has descriptive themes of the above, please don't hesitate to mention it to me.

There will NOT be smut as I don't feel comfortable writing it and wanted to make that clear before the book begins. I've had comments on this book about people being unhappy I'm not including sex scenes. I will not be saying this again, so this is your ONLY disclaimer. It will not be happening, so please don't go complaining about it. If you want to read it, find something else.

This is a slow burn book! Like massive, huge, incredibly slow. Ophelia will eventually end up with Malia. Let's also remember she doesn't really become a main character until Season 4. Starting during Season 2 is to develop Ofi's character and show that she doesn't need a relationship to be a strong, independent woman. There will be two books to this series, so their relationship will be featured a lot more in the sequel as opposed to this current one. This is Ophelia's story, and Malia is only a part of it.

I also highly recommend watching the first three seasons of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, as this book picks up where the Mikaelsons leave Mystic Falls.
