"𝓁ℴℴ𝓀, 𝓃ℴ𝓌 𝒾'𝓂 𝒶𝓁ℴ𝓃ℯ 𝒶𝑔𝒶𝒾𝓃"

The feeling of having control is new for Ophelia Stone. It didn't come easy; it was something she had worked for her whole life. Control is defined as having the power to manipulate a specific person's behaviour, or a situation. In this case, and despite the fact of not having her humanity, Ophelia finally has control over herself.

As her white paws pad across crisp fallen leaves, she huffs a sigh. She watches in curiosity as the warm moisture from her breath floats into the air like a small cloud. Feeling a nudge at her shoulder, she turns around to see the pitch-black wolf beside her. When Ophelia tilts her head to the side in question, he answers it by moving his eyes forward in front of them. Without waiting for her to respond, the wolf breaks off into a run.

Ophelia's eyes narrow and she leaps to her feet to follow her older brother. As the pair of them run through the Beacon Hills Preserve, both wolves' mouths are open with their tongues happily hanging out.

Despite being February, the sun shines through the tall trees and hits onto her frosty white coat, ironically making her shiver from the warmth it provides. Ophelia's heart races from the adrenaline of the adventure of exploring a new place, and the pure euphoria she feels whilst being in her werewolf form. However, when she breaks through a cluster of bushes, she abruptly skids to a stop. She positions herself into a threatening crouch, her previously green irises now glowing their signature blood red.

As Klaus joins her side, he clumsily trips over a fallen branch and lets out a whine in pain. It's when Ophelia quietly growls under her breath that the older hybrid instantly freezes, and his body stiffens as he braces in anticipation. As he follows her line of sight, his own eyes flash to a golden yellow.

Baring her teeth as a warning, Ophelia slowly stalks forward to the coyote defensively snarling at them a few metres away. What shocks her the most isn't when the animal suddenly darts away without warning, but before doing so how its eyes turn from a grey to a haunting, sapphire blue. As the animal scampers away in fear of the two wolves, Ophelia's head snaps over to her brother who also shares the same confusion that her own features hold.

That wasn't a werewolf. So, what the hell was it?

"What the bloody hell did we just see?" Niklaus yells as he barges into Ophelia's living room.

The teenager rolls her eyes in disinterest and glances up from her packet of pork rinds that she found stocked in the pantry. "A coyote. Nik, did you lose your brain out there?"

The Mikaelson's face morphs into a large scowl as he takes the unoccupied armchair across from his sister. "I know it was a coyote, but have you ever seen one that had its eyes glow? And blue?"

Ophelia shrugs and crosses her legs into a more comfortable position. "Unless it tries to kill me, I really don't care."

Despite her attempts to avoid the conversation, Klaus continues to ramble to himself. "Our eyes aren't blue. No wolf, witch or vampire I know has blue eyes." When another pork rind loudly crunches, he looks to her with annoyance. "Could you please try to act a little worried?"

Her eyes twinkle with amusement and Ophelia chuckles. "You are so paranoid! Not everyone is out to kill you. It's just a coyote. Oh, maybe it's a magical one." As she finishes her sentence, she wiggles her fingers, causing Niklaus to scoff at her lack of concern.

"Fine, I'm gone tomorrow so it's your problem," he mumbles.

"Works for me," the girl replies, her voice muffled from a mouthful of food. She wipes her hands on her jeans, the dust from the pork rinds floating into the air. "Right, well, I'm bored. Want to come into town with me?"

Klaus' blonde eyebrows raise as he watches her gather supplies for the impromptu trip. "Ah, why not? As long as that pesky animal isn't there..."

Glancing over her shoulder with her car keys in hand, Ophelia groans, already tired of the subject. "Oh, sod off. You probably think it's Mikael back from the dead and in disguise." When he doesn't respond, her jaw drops open. "Wow. Get over yourself."

"Shut up!"

Finally having enough at the bubbling coming from the tall glass opposite her, Ophelia clears her throat and raises her eyebrows pointedly at her brother. "I don't think there's any more milkshake in there."

"You're such a downer with your humanity off," he complains.

Her eyes narrow and her arms fold over her chest as she leans back into the leather booth. "Excuse me? I'm the downer? You're the one who's been complaining about the fucking dog we saw for the last hour." Klaus quickly grabs the unused knife in the cutlery bucket and throws it in the direction of her head. Grinning in excitement, Ophelia catches it inches away from piercing her eye. "Now that's more like it."

Unbeknownst to the pair of hybrids, a teenage boy walks past the cafe's window, then stops and quickly backtracks. Peering inside the glass, he stares at the table situated in the back of the room. Running a hand over his buzzed hair, his eyes narrow as he looks between the two unfamiliar people. He could have sworn he just saw the girl catch the knife that was thrown at her.

"So, what's the plan when I leave and take the party along with me?" Niklaus questions.

She arches a brow and scoffs in disbelief. "The party isn't going anywhere because I am the party. Probably just spend the next few weeks checking the place out. Eat, drink, kill a few people..."

"Just be careful, okay? We don't want too much attention drawn to ourselves," he softly tells her.

"Seriously? You're telling me that?"

Klaus ignores her remark, and his previous method to gently press her about their persistent danger flies out the window. "Fi, I'm serious. Stefan's hell bent on making sure you join his brother and that infuriating doppelgänger."

A small smirk makes its way onto her face at the thought of the younger Salvatore brother trying to kill her. "I don't plan on dying for the second time, especially not by Steven. I'm one of the most dangerous creatures on this planet. If anything, you should be worried about everyone else."

The man pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs, yet a small smile lifts at his lips. "If it all turns to shit again, you know you're more than welcome in New Orleans."

"Oh, no, I'll skip the sappy sibling drama, thanks." She stands up from the booth and bounces on the balls of her feet. "Now, family banquet before you depart?"

"Thought you would never ask, little sister."

With a smile remaining on her face the entire time, Ophelia drags a dark-haired woman into a nearby alleyway. "So, what's your name-" The hybrid swiftly cuts the question off by firmly pressing their lips together. In surprise, the stranger freezes but quickly melts into the embrace. Removing her lips, Ophelia trails delicate kisses down the woman's neck, although despite the quiet moans that fill the small area, her attention is focused on the pulsating jugular vein. The hybrid abruptly pulls away, making the woman look at her questioningly due to the loss of contact. "Did I do something wrong?"

Ophelia gives her a sweet smile, any innocence she had previously held now long gone. "Some would say it's me, not you, sweetheart. And as nice as this was, my brother is waiting for me." Before she can ask another question, the human observes in horror when the girl's eyes glow an unnatural colour and her lips curl into a devilish smile, her pearly white fangs on show. "Now, be a doll and don't scream."

Slowly nodding, the woman remains in a daze as the girl's dilated pupils return to normal. Ophelia's razor sharp teeth graze her neck before digging into the skin, resulting in a quiet whimper from the victim. The second hot blood hits her tongue, the hybrid sighs in pleasure.

"What the fuck is taking you so long?"

At Niklaus' voice, her eyes roll in annoyance. Removing her teeth out of the brunette woman's neck, Ophelia sends a brief glance in his direction. "Piss off. Can't you see that I'm busy?"

The man folds his arms and leans against the brick wall in amusement. "I can see."

Wanting to finish off her meal, the girl ignores his presence and continues to drain the woman dry. Finally with a huff, she drops her deceased victim to the side and wipes the droplets of blood from the corner of her mouth. "Right, happy?"

Klaus only raises his eyebrows and points a finger behind her. "Forget something?"

Ophelia's eyes narrow and her tone sharpens as she questions, "Really?" When he only nods in response, she lets out an exaggerated sigh. So she grabs a nearby opened bottle of vodka and pours the entire container onto the woman with the flammable liquid. Taking out the brass lighter from her pocket, she flicks it and the small flame licks against her palm.

"Oh, for fuck's sake, pyromaniac are we now?"

With a dark glint of mischief in her eyes, Ophelia tosses the lighter onto the body. "The Gilbert house wasn't a sign for you?" she sarcastically retorts.

As the familiar scent of smoke wafts into both of their noses, Klaus stands by her side as the pair watch the human slowly begin to burn. "Come on, before someone checks this display out."

Ophelia casually shrugs as she follows her brother. "Eh, just more to kill."

Once the pair return to the newly bought house, the older Mikaelson turns to his sister with reluctance. He sighs as he watches her pull out a cigarette from the pocket of her red leather jacket and light it. "Are you sure you're okay with me leaving? I can stay if you need me, you know that."

She softly exhales causing the smoke to blow out of her nose. "Don't you have baby mama to get back to?"

"Elijah seems more than capable of looking after her, and Rebekah's been a good babysitter so far."

At the grimace on his face, Ophelia chuckles. "Well, go wake up Kol and send him over here. I wouldn't mind having a buddy."

In offence, Klaus' eyes widen. "I'm fun!"

"Yeah, but Kol's a different kinda fun." She pats his shoulder as she makes the trek up the path to the front door. "I'm thinking about signing up to that school, it'll provide some temporary entertainment."

"You're going to learn?" he asks incredulously, appalled by the fact she would even be attending school without her humanity. Even with it, Ophelia was never one to be entertained by the thought of going to high school.

The blonde glances behind her and scoffs whilst unlocking the door. "No, why the fuck would you think that? Compel the idiotic teachers, play with the students... Maybe I'll find a pet or two."

As Niklaus rolls his eyes, he refrains a quiet laugh from escaping his lips. "You're a piece of work."

"Always have and always will be. Oh, and by the way..." she calls out. Ophelia spins around and her eyes glow a faint red while her voice lowers in a threatening manner. "If any one of you even think about trying to turn my humanity back on, I won't hesitate to slaughter this entire, pathetic town."

He only raises his eyebrows in response. "Wasn't planning to. You'll realise on your own that you can't hide from your problems forever." With a small smile, he nods to her. "All right, I'm off. If you need anything, just call one of us, okay?"

Ophelia inhales another breath of smoke and salutes to him. "Cheers, captain, won't do."

Klaus shakes his head in amusement and turns his back to his younger sister, not before sneaking another glance as she walks down the hallway and finally disappears out of sight. He sighs to himself and experiences a flashback of the day he first found her bloodied and bruised on the side of a street.

Boots splash through small, muddy puddles covering the tarmac road, the houses in front of the man barely visible from the rain pouring down upon him. However, as he continues to walk down the street, he vaguely notices a small figure sitting on the edge of the road. More like he hears the barely audible sniffles. So, out of pure curiosity, the man approaches the young child, taking deliberately slow movements as to not scare her. "Are you alright?"

The girl's head snaps up from her feet, and with wide eyes she scrambles up to stand, quickly backing away from him. "Please d-don't hurt me," she whispers, her voice squeaking with fear.

His eyes soften at her state, but they fill with further concern once he notices the dried blood staining her white t-shirt and the large bruises coating her arms and lower legs. As he listens to her rapid heartbeat, he holds his hands up and halts his movements. "I'm not going to hurt you, little one. Do you want to tell me what happened?

A sob catches in her throat and her body trembles from the low temperature, goosebumps erupting over her bare arms. "I-I killed them," she stutters out.

Niklaus Mikaelson's eyes widen at her statement, and he dryly swallows, unsure of how to approach this situation. "Who did you hurt?"

She meets his gaze and a blinding, white hot anger surges through her. Whilst doing so, her eyes begin to glow golden. "They can't hurt me anymore," she confidently tells him, the previous tremble in her voice now gone.

While he connects her words to the wounds on her frail body, a part of the almighty Original's heart has a fracture that runs through it. As he continues to walk towards her, this time he causes his own eyes to deliberately glow their vampire red. The corners of his lips slightly upturn when he sees her body visibly relax, finding some sort of comfort in the action that most would call monstrous. "That's right. No one can hurt you anymore," Klaus soothes. However, he freezes when a loud crack reaches his ears, followed by an ear piercing scream from the girl.

The sound of a bone snapping in half.

And he instantly recognises what is happening. Bending down to her height, his face falls at the excruciating pain shown in her expression. "What's your name?"

With tears lining her striking green eyes, the child cradles her now broken arm. "O-Ophelia," she whispers.

With a small smile, Klaus gently takes her uninjured hand. "Well, little wolf, it appears we might be able to help each other."

Eleven years ago, Ophelia Stone experienced her first werewolf transformation. And Klaus Mikaelson was there every single step of the way to help her.
