'sure, partner.' -
I had received a number of friend requests on my instagram after the video went viral. Especially from guys who probably thought could have a go at me and funnily, I had never even talked to most of them. But i tried not to let it bother me at all.
And I was just worried about my mom and dad finding out about the video. I definitely knew they were going to ban me from dating and probably ground me. And i couldn't afford any of that. It was my least year with my best friends before we all went our separate ways.
The next day was generally slow at school. The usual stares from everyone just burnt right through me but it was okay since I had Darna and Penny ready to throw fists at anyone who crossed the line.
"You know they're afraid of you," I chuckled unlocking my locker grabbing my history textbook.
"I know babe," Darna smirked throwing her arm around Penny's shoulder.
"You scare me too sometimes," Penny added timidly making us laugh. She frowned. "I wasn't joking."
"Oh shut up you love me," Darna rolled her eyes and I shrugged jokingly making her gasp.
The bell rang for next period and I sighed feeling anxious that I had to part from them.
"Hey don't look so glum," Penny placed her hand on my shoulder softly. "Its just 45 minutes without us. After that it's going to be the three of us for rest of the day."
I nodded, forcing a smile. "I'll see you guys after class."
"See ya bitch," Darna kissed my cheek before walking to her class with Penny.

History class was the same as usual. Mr. Singh just assigned some projects to us and ofcourse it had to be done in pairs. A part of me was hoping to pair up with Dylan but I knew he wouldn't even care about doing so, not after the shit that went viral.
I tried to talk Mr. Singh into letting me do the project alone but he completely refused. Something about teamwork and all that shit.
"Sila?" i heard a very familiar voice call out to me as soon I exited class. I had already texted Darna and Penny to meet me at our usual spot at starbucks and a part of me wanted to ignore everyone and everything.
John Miller had been waiting for me outside class while I had been arguing with our history teacher. For fuck's sake, I knew he was going to try and be my project partner.
"I can't do the project with you, Miller," I said glumly walking away from him, not even bothering to turn my face to see him. He made me anxious, and not in a good way.
"You haven't even heard what I had to say," he sounded agitated as he, ofcourse, followed me. "You always assume."
"What do you want, Miller?" I stopped to look at him and sighed. He seemed hurt by my harsh tone but what he had done was unforgivable.
"I just wish you wouldn't look at me like you hate me, Sila."
"Just get to the point," i said crossing my arms, after shoving my phone into the backpocket of my jeans.
"Okay, so I really um, was wondering if we could talk," he said slowly, fidgeting and playing with the strings on his black hoodie. I winced thinking it was still too hot for a hoodie.
"We are talking."
"No, Sila, like really talk. I want you in my life again," he shook his hand and a took a step towards me.
My throat went dry as he stared right through my eyes. There was a time I could have genuinely fallen in love with him, but that ship had sailed a long time ago. John took my hand in his and squeezed it softly. His touch was warm and calm, but I knew it was a facade. He was only trying to make up for the misery he had caused me.
"Sila," John whispered his eyes softening. My heart leaped and I quickly pulled my hand away. There was no way I was falling for his bullshit again.
"Leave me alone, Miller." I rolled my eyes, tears welling up in them. I missed him, I really did but not enough to bring him back into my life. "I told you it's over."
"But give me another chance to explain! You owe me that much!"
"I don't owe you shit!" I shot back and his face stiffened. He clenched his fists trying to hold in his anger and I gulped.
"You are making a big mistake!" John growled grabbing my wrist again.
"let me go!"
"Hey!" a voice, came to my rescue. It was usually Darna who did so, but this time it was a male voice and not a female's. "She said to leave her alone."
I turned my head to see Dylan Yang, looking ever so flawless, with a stern look on his face.
"And who the fuck are you?" John scoffed letting go of my wrist. Heaving a sigh of relief I quickly moved towards Dylan. Maybe he could out John in his place.
"If the girl says no, it means no. Stop harassing her."Dylan said sternly and I couldn't help but beam at him.
"Really, Sila? This guy?!" John turned to me, hoping for some validation that I would stand up for him and not with Dylan but i looked down instead, not having the guts to even look him in the eye anymore.
"Leave, man." Dylan said a little calmly than before.
John sighed, his shoulders slumping and walked away. I knew I shouldn't have, but I felt bad for him. He used to hang around with so many people and had a lot of friends. But he did seem much alone than before ever since we broke up.
"You okay?" Dylan said softly, looking at me. He smelled like mint and it was weirdly attractive to feel him this close.
I nodded shyly. "Thanks for that."
"No problem. I was just coming over to talk to you when I saw him bothering you."
My face lit up. "Talk to me? Why?"
"Oh I wanted to ask if you wanted to partner for the history project?"
YES. YES. YES.
"Oh i don't know," I lied trying to hide the joy in my voice. "I was hoping Mr. Singh would let me do it alone."
Dylan chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh shit, then I guess I just embarrassed myself."
I couldn't help but smirk at how his ears turned red. "But, I don't think he is going to let me."
"So is that a yes?" he asked, smiling.
I pretended to give it a thought and then nodded. "Sure, partner."
A wide smile spread across his lips, and Oh God I could have sworn I just died a little. Dylan and I exchanged numbers and he promised to text me soon.
And as soon as he fed his number into my phone, my fingers automatically moved to the whatsapp group that we called, Rock, Paper Scissors:
Sila: Guys, so I just got Dylan's number.
Penny: Duck, no way!
Penny: Duck*
Penny: Ducking phone!
Penny: FUCK***
Sila: LMAO
Darna: Get here bitch, we're waiting for you!!!!
Chuckling to myself, I put my phone into my bag this time and excitedly trotted to see my best friends and give them all the details.
