"Charlie, quit moving," I warned him, scowling as he moved his head around playfully, smirking up at me, "I'm serious; do you want me to do your makeup or not?" He stopped moving after that, allowing me to blend the white paint onto his face; somehow, he had convinced me to do his makeup for the Halloween party tonight, which meant Owen and him were hanging out in our apartment

"I'm surprised the two of you aren't doing a couples costume," Savannah admitted from behind me, "Charlie could have been Prince Charming." I bit my lip, holding in my laughter; Charlie smirking up at me; ever since that night at his mom's, the two of us began to tolerate each other more and more; and while we still argued from time to time, it was always playful.

"I tried convincing Bree to be a clown," He shrugged, "but she insisted that she and Lilly had picked out their costumes weeks ago."

"Yeah, until she ditched me," I muttered; When we had picked out our costumes a couple of weeks ago; Lilly, insisted the two of us wear a matching outfit; she had spent weeks hand sewing them.

"Why'd she ditch you?" Owen asked, sitting on the barstool next to Charlie.

"Aiden wanted to do a couples costume," I responded, rolling my eyes; as the week went on, and Aiden became a more frequent visitor to our apartment, I began to realize just how bad he was for Lilly. He was constantly controlling her, never really giving her a chance to make choices for herself, "speak of the devil," I muttered, as I heard the door shut; Aiden entered the room, Lilly trailing behind him.

"Hey," Owen waved, smiling lightly at the two of them, "how was last-minute shopping?"

"It was-"

"It was great," Aiden cut Lilly off, mid-sentence, "we're gonna go start working on them now." Aiden grabbed Lilly's hand, leading her to her bedroom.

"Is he always like that?" Charlie asks, referring to how controlling Aiden was over Lilly; I frown in response, nodding my head.

"She deserves so much better," Owen mutters under his breath; I frown at Charlie as he said that, the two of us had yet to get started on our plan to set them up. We needed to do something fast; he must have been thinking the same thing because after I finished his makeup, he followed me into my room, claiming he needed to ask me something.

"We need to do something," He blurts as soon as the door is shut; I bite my lip, holding back a smile; it was hard to take him seriously with the clown makeup. "Lilly is clearly miserable, so is Owen."

"We need her and Aiden to break up first," I reminded him, moving to stand in front of my vanity; we had to leave for the Halloween party in a half-hour; so, I needed to start getting ready. We both stayed quiet for a couple of minutes while I brushed through my hair, both thinking of ways to put our plan in motion.

"She needs to see that Aiden doesn't treat her right." He says after a couple of minutes, moving, so he stood behind me; both of us looking at one another through the reflection of the mirror. "we need to show her how a boyfriend should treat their girlfriend; because from what I saw, no girl deserves to be treated like that."

"That's actually not a bad idea," I nodded in approval; Charlie smiled brightly from behind me, glad that I approved of his plan, "I mean, we might as well use this fake relationship for good, right?" I swear I saw his smile drop, but before I could question it, he recovered it, nodding in agreeance.

"and then, we show her Owen can be all of these things for her, unlike Aiden," He adds, "then one day, we set up a romantic date; you bring Lilly, and I'll bring Owen, and we leave them there."

"That's perfect," I smiled, turning so we faced one another, "I say we start tonight; make sure you act even nicer than usual, like you did in front of Madi and Soyon the other day in the wardrobe trailer." The way he looked at me the other day was how a guy who's genuinely in love guy looked at their girlfriend; he was getting really good at this whole fake relationship thing.

"Uh yeah, okay," He nods, scratching the back of his neck, awkwardly, "I can try."

"I know it'll be tough," I chuckled, placing my hand on his forearm, "but trust me, in the end, this will all be worth it."

One hour later

We arrived at the Halloween party a little bit later and were instantly roped onto the dance floor by the rest of our castmates, not that any of us were complaining. We all danced in a large group, minus Lilly and Aiden, who were currently off to the side of the room; I could tell she wanted more than anything to come out here, but with him holding her back, she'd never get the chance.

"We need to distract Aiden," I whisper into Charlies' ear; his eyes travel over to the pair, frowning when he sees how bored Lilly looks.

"I might have an idea," he says; I nod for him to go on, but he doesn't, "do you trust me?" Normally, I would have cringed at that; but instead, I nodded. Did I just agree with Charlie? something was seriously wrong with me. "Okay, go to the laptop and play a slow song when you see Aiden exit the gym" I nodded, both of us leaving the dance floor and parting ways, Charlie to Lilly and Aiden and me to the laptop that controlled the music playing around the room.

"Can I pick a song?" I asked Paul, who was currently controlling the device; he nodded, allowing me access to the music; I quickly typed in the first song I could think of, then glanced up at Charlie, who was currently talking with Aiden; moving his hands around widely as he spoke. Moments later, Aiden left the room in a rush, not bothering to take Lilly with him. As the slow song started playing, everyone in the cast stayed on the dance floor, all playfully waltzing with one another instead; leave it to my castmates to make everything fun, even slow, romantic songs. I shook my head in amusement as I watched Charlie lock the doors behind Aiden; before walking back over to Lilly. I couldn't tell what he was saying, but his hands gestured to the dance floor; and after a couple of seconds of hesitation, she walked over; I thought for sure Charlie and I would have to push Owen over to her, but he did it all himself, and soon the two of them began dancing. It wasn't as romantic as I thought it'd be; I think we both had forgotten about the giant inflatable baby costume he had on, but it was still cute to see her laughing at the jokes he told her and how proud he seemed to be the reason she smiled that big.

"Aubrey summers," Charlie said, walking over to me with his arm extended, "may I have this dance?"

"You may," I replied in a fake British accent; placing my hand in his, allowing him to lead me to the dance floor, "so," I began once we started dancing, "what'd you tell Aiden to get him out of here?"

"That his car was being towed," He smirked proudly, "I also locked the door behind him, so by the time he gets to the other entrance, Lilly will be finished her dance." I nodded my head, smiling, excited our plan had worked; without thinking, I leaned my head on his shoulder, "are you enjoying this, Summers?"

"Pfft, no," I scoffed, but I didn't move my head from the comfortable position inlaid in, "Your clown makeup is just freaking me out and I'm trying to make us look romantic, that's all."
