Twenty✨
"So," I said, linking my arms through both of my roommates, "what do you guys have today?"
"We're filming wow," Savannah smiled excitedly; today was her first time shooting a musical number scene, "so today's a busy one for me: what about you guys?"
"I don't film until later; so, I'm just here to watch; I think Aiden might come by later too," Lilly shrugged; I shared a glance with Savannah at the mention of the curly-haired boy.
"Ooh," Savanah sang, leaning forward a bit to look at Lilly; last night when I got home from Owen and Charlies, Lilly told us that she and Aiden were officially dating. I couldn't quite read Lilly's emotions about it all; she seemed happy, but something still felt off, and I'm pretty sure I know what it was.
"You're coming to watch, wow, right?" Lilly asked me, changing the subject.
"I have a fitting for Perfect Harmony first," I answer; Soyon, our costume designer, had informed me that she had tons of options picked out, "but once I'm finished, I'll be there." The three of us talked for a little more before going our separate ways; me to my fitting, Savannah to hair and makeup, and Lilly to find Aiden.
"Soyon," I sing, entering the wardrobe trailer; upon entering, I spotted Madison standing on a platform, currently getting fitted for wardrobe, "Madi, I thought you weren't coming until later?" I ask her taking off my coat and placing it on one of the empty chairs.
"Today was the only day I was available to get my wardrobe fitted," She responded; I smiled excitedly at the younger girl. I was already looking forward to spending my morning with Soyon, but with Madi here, it would be even more fun.
"All the dresses are hanging over there?" Soyon informed me, gesturing towards a rack of clothing; I nodded, moving to go through the dresses; the rack was full of different colored dresses, all varying in style and length.
"These are gorgeous Soyon," I told her, running my hands over the material, "it's gonna be hard to narrow it down."
"Luckily, you have us," Madison exclaimed, smiling goofily at me, "it'll be like a fashion show," I chuckled lightly, grabbing a stack of dresses to try on. I came out every few minutes, modeling the dresses for the two of them, and while they were pretty, none of them were perfect.
"I don't like the florals," Soyon said, shaking her head as a came out in another dress; I nodded in agreement, staring down at the dress, "it doesn't match what I have for Charlie."
"What's Charlie wearing?" Madi asked; she had finished getting fitted for her wardrobe a little bit ago, now she sat in one of the chairs, enjoying the mini fashion show I was putting on.
"Black dress pants and a white shirt," Soyon said, moving to grab the items off of the rack with his name on it; I glanced from the outfit she held out back to the rack of endless dresses; I needed something simple and classic.
"How about Red?" Madi asked, moving to go through the rack of dresses with me; I stepped aside, allowing the younger girl to go through the dresses; Madi had better style than me, so I had no doubt whatever she chose would be amazing.
"I love it," Soyon nodded in approval as Madi held out a burgundy velvet dress, "that'll stand out great against Charlie's outfit, go try it on." I nodded excitedly, stepping behind the curtain; I pulled the dress over my head, smoothing down the sides; it was perfect.
"Okay, what do we think?" I asked them, twirling out from behind the curtain; Madi and Soyon both nodded their heads rapidly in approval, "I like this one too," I agreed, turning to look in the full-length mirror. The dress was made from a soft velvet material that flared out at the waist, ending a little bit above my knee.
"What do you say, Aubrey Summers," Madison asked, speaking into her hand like it was a microphone, "are you saying yes to the dress?" I giggled as she held her hand out to me; before I could respond, the door was pushed open, revealing Charlie.
"Hey Soyon," He greeted, "I forgot to grab my-"he didn't finish his sentence; instead, his eyes widened slightly, connecting with mine.
"Hey," I greet him, awkwardly pulling on the ends of the dress, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
"Uh, Hey," He clears his throat, scratching the back of his neck; I furrow my brows at him, confused by his nervous demeanor. "Sorry, I forgot my beanie." I nodded, stepping aside so he could go to his rack of clothes.
"Do you like Bree's dress?" Madi asked, gesturing to me, "it's for perfect harmony."
"I love it," He nodded, smiling over at me; I wait for him to wink to indicate he's joking, but he doesn't; his expression remains serious. "You guy's almost ready to film?" He asked, looking at his reflection in the mirror as he placed the beanie on his head; we're filming our reaction shots to dirty candy in the gym today.
"Yeah," I nod, "I just need to change." I move back behind the curtain, changing into my wardrobe for the day. As I'm changing, Madi yells that she's leaving; I assume Charlie went with her because he wouldn't be this quiet if he were here.
"I'll see ya later, Soyon," I wave as soon as I'm dressed; she nods goodbye, going back to hemming Madi's dress for the finale.
"Boo," Charlie screams as soon as I walk out, causing me to jump, holding my hands out in front of me. I let out a breath as Charlie bent over laughing; just when I think he isn't an annoying jerk, he does stuff like this to remind me.
"I hate you, Charlie Gillespie?" I mutter; I slap his arm, walking away before he could reply.
"Aw, C'mon Summers," He ran to catch up with me; I glanced over at him out of the corner of my eye, trying my best to keep my expression blank, but it was hard when especially when he pouted at me. "C'mon Bree; I was only kidding." I tried to keep my expression neutral, but I ended up breaking; a small smile appearing on my lips.
"I hate you," I repeat, biting my lip, trying to get rid of the smile on my face.
"Mhm," He says sarcastically, nodding his head, "Sure you do."
