Revolution
Being an immigrant in the United States isn't always easy. Even if you did it legally (wich Yao did) he worked with a lot of immigrants from Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Venezuela, and Cuba.
They were use to the shouts of assholes who said they should leave, go back home.
Many with red hats and many arrogant.
Yao prayed for a revolution.
One day while he worked in the warehouse with his friends Carlos, Jordan, Mary, and Ting.
Their boss came kn and told them to stop that everyone needed to line up by the back wall.
He came in with almost twenty officers in ICE uniforms.
Yao glared at them.
Carlos growled at them along with Ting.
Still they did what they were told and all lined up.
Ting and Mary on either side of Yao looking proud with no light in their eyes.
Carols and Jordan were a few people away from them and Yao didn't look at them. Instead he kept his eyes on the guards.
One had a list and another pulled people out from the line.
Then they stopped by Mary.
She glared at them with her blur eyes blazing with fury.
The two looked at rhe list and nodded then they grabbed Yao.
"Let him go!" Mary growled out stepping forward.
"He's legal!" She protested "He's legal first generation!"
She put her hand on the guard and he slapped her. Yao said something in Chinese that would roughly tansalte in English to:
"What the fuck man!?"
The guard punched Yao in the face and pushed him to the ground.
Fuck.
Yao knew he would get beat up. That he would have to stay still to be safe.
He felt the wind of the kick and then it stopped.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" A light male voice growled out.
Yao looked up and saw an ICE officer without his helmet on.
He had a bug nose and soft face with violet eyes.
"Get out." The man said to the nan who almost kicked Yao and slapped Mary.
"Get out." The man said again "You'll be fired later."
"He was resisti-"
"Say he was resisting and I'll kick your ass." The man stated holding a hand out to help Yao get up.
"Let me see that fucking list." The male saod as Yao took the hand to get up.
One of the guards nervously gave it to him.
He looked on the list and then to Yao.
"Is your name," he paused for a moment "Shit I'm going to butcher this. Kuan-han?"
"You said the name right but no." Yao said "My name is Wang-Yao."
"My apologises for what happend to you Wang-Yao." The man said "Someone reported that this murderer from Vietnam had who escaped his country last week was here. They must have been very rascist or very confused."
He gave the other officer back the list "You all can get back to work and Yao." The officer said "I'm Ivan Braginski. I'd like to help with your brusies and maybe if you don't think I'm am utter asshole. Get coffee sometime?"
Yao thought for a moment. He knew nothing about the guy. Nothing other than maybe he wasn't to bad of a person for helping him.
"If you think I'm rascist I'm not after what happened to a those kids last summer. I finally got moved to the sherif position for ElkHeart."
"That's exactly where I live too." Yao thought.
"Give me your number and I'll call you tonight." Yao said with a wink.
After Yao got healed and went back to work with the a new number in his phone his friends of course were a little shcoked but were happy for Yao.
"You sure he wasn't a rascist?" Carlos asked "A lot of Capitalists are."
Yao sighed "He had a yellow vest on under his jacket."
Ting-Ting gave her friend a spacious look.
"It was peering through his other vest. There's a yellow vest protest in Madison tomorrow so he's probably going to that."
"So if you hand't of met Mister tall and pale here." Jordan said "You probably would have met him in jail after another cop would've beaten you for looking st him the wrong way."
Yao threw back his head and laughed "Probably with jow messed up this country is but maybe we can make it better."
"If not I'm moving back to Cuba." Carlos joked putting another box on the stack of boxes beside Yao.
Turns out the two did run into each other at the peaceful protest amd did not get arrested. To celebrste they had that coffee a little early.
