Running Away For The First Time And Getting Caught. Part Two.
It has been a few days since I run away from the group home and no one has come looking for me. In a way, it wasn't such a bad thing to have happened.
Each time I see the police I hide because I know that if they found me. They would take me back to the group home which I didn't want to happen.
Unfortunately, one day while I was walking towards the supermarket that throws away foods that aren't even expired the police caught me.
I knew that running again won't do anything good so I just let them catch me. There were many reasons why I let them catch me.
The main one was I ran out of food and the only thing I had left was a bottle of water that would be empty in a day.
They took me to the social services where they asked a lot of questions. But I didn't say anything until one of them knew that I wouldn't talk because I was afraid of what might happen.
Dear, Diary.
My freedom didn't last long. I now know that they won't take me back to the group home. If they did I would have run away again and again and again.
I badly want to go to her but am still a kid who has no idea how to get to her home.
If I only knew her home address, I wouldn't hesitate to go there and stay with her family.
I know that they won't turn me back. They never did when my parents were alive.
One of the police officers is taking me to a different orphanage. Hopefully, this one will be different from the other one.
I couldn't help but eavesdrop on the social worker and the officer's conversation.
It turns out that the caretaker of the group home only cared about the money that the state was giving her to foster kids.
She doesn't even give them a proper meal.
Here I am in my room. I am sharing with a boy who is I think my age.
His name is Jayden Rivers. But he wants to be called Reece because Jayden was abandoned by his parents at a park when he was about 3 years old.
No one knew who his family was.
But that story is for another time.
Laters.
Signing off,
Roc.
