I love to study history but I've been busy lately and do not have the time to look up facts. Also, I will apologize in advance for making Russia/Ivan the bad guy in the story. Thanks!

Vlad's PoV:
"We all will be experiencing many changes soon, very soon," my boss stood in front of me talking in a very serious voice, "it could be for better or for worse but please take care of yourself and your people, I'm worried."
"Yes, sir, I will certainly do what is best for my people," I replied.
"I'm sorry it had to come to this," my boss stated as he walked away, our short meeting was over and I didn't even have the time to ask questions.
I sighed, what was that all about?
A month later I soon found out. I had waken up sick and as every country does when they wake up sick, I bought a news paper. The first line read, "Government Changed to Communism, For Better or For Worse?" So that's what was wrong with me. I had noticed other countries around me had changed their government to communism but they were forced to. I quickly called my boss. "Hello, Vlad," he answered, "I figured you would be calling, is everything alright?"
"No, I'm sick, you should have told me we were changing my government," I stated.
"I wasn't for sure that we were going to have to and when I finally found out it consumed my schedule," my boss replied, "I didn't have time to talk to you but to be fair I did tell you to expect a change."
"We weren't forced to like the others so why did you change me to communism?" I questioned.
"The change is due to economic and political reasons," my boss replied, "we really didn't have a choice even if we weren't forced into it, I'm sorry but I have to leave, I'm really busy, take care of yourself," my boss hung up.
I layed my phone down.
Not even 30 seconds later it rang again. I again hurried back to my phone. "Hello, Vlad, this is Alex," I had immediately recognized his sweet voice, "my government is now communist and I did some research and found that you are having the same problems."
At least I wasn't in this alone but I didn't want Alex to suffer too. "Yeah, its the same here," I replied, "the switch has caused me to become sick."
"Same here," Alex said with a cough.
Suddenly I heard a knock at the door. "Hold that thought, Alex, I have to answer the door real quick," I took the phone away from my ear still holding it and went to answer the door.
"Privet, Vlad," Ivan greeted me as I opened the door.
"Salut, Ivan," I welcomed my voice possibly wavering a bit.
"Ah, you don't happen to be speaking to Alex, are you?" Ivan questioned seeing the phone in my hand.
"Yes, indeed I am," I replied.
"Great, if you wouldn't mind could I talk with him, I will talk to you next," Ivan demanded.
I put the phone up to my ear again and said, "Ivan was at the door and wants to talk with you, Alex," he muttered something and I handed the phone to Ivan.
I motioned for Ivan to step inside and then closed the door and left him to talk. What could he want with Alex and me?
Soon enough Ivan got done on the phone and walked into my living room to talk with me. "Sorry, for the interruption but I really needed to talk to Alex," Ivan spoke, "I told him to hurry to my house, I'm holding a meeting there."
I was confused but I wouldn't let him know it. I was kinda scared of Ivan. "In fact I came here to take you to my house," Ivan continued.
"Sorry," I stated with a slight cough, "I'm busy with my own country."
Ivan walked closer, "That's where you have it all wrong," he grabbed my arm and yanked me off my sofa, he was practically dragging me, "you have no choice."
He half dragged me out of my house and threw me in his car. He locked my door from the outside so there was no escape and then he got into the drivers side and soon we were off, zooming down the road towards Ivan's home.
Alex's PoV:
Why did Ivan want me to go to his house? Regardless, I didn't want to get on his bad side so I listened. I was now on my way to Russia.
Soon enough I was there. I was greeted by Toris who lead me inside and took my jacket to hang in the closet. Everyone was gathered in Ivan's living room. Vlad was there so I took the open seat next to him. I mumbled some greetings to the others. I was the last to arrive so soon after I arrived the meeting began. I was still confused as to why Ivan had called us all here but when Ivan tells you to do something, you do it. Ivan basically talked about the rules of communism and how it would effect us. I half listed and half daydreamed the whole time.
I was shaken from my current daydream when Feliks had gotten a urgent text and needed to leave. He jumped out of his chair and excused himself as he ran to his car. Maybe his people or government needed him? Ivan rushed ahead of him slamming the door shut and locking it before Feliks could leave. Ivan put he key in his pocket and announced that no country could leave. I was starting to get scared, we couldn't be trapped in Ivan house! Feliks tried explaining to Ivan but it was useless.
Ivan laughed, "I hate that I have reviled my plot so soon but alas it was fun while it lasted though the real fun has only just begun," he continued, "you all will stay with me and work for me, we will live together as a happy family and I will never be lonely again!"
I looked around, this was no joke, all the other countries looked terrified. Ivan had everyone sit back down and continued with the meeting. The mood was much darker though and everyone was awaiting Ivan's next move. After the meeting ended, Ivan lead all of us to our rooms. He explained that there wasn't enough rooms for everyone and he had to pair us up two to a room. Of course Vlad and I were put in a room together. At first, neither of us talked but soon enough after we had recovered from the shock of being trapped in Ivan's house the reality of it sat in. We talked of escape plans but neither of us had any good ideas. We decided to go to sleep for the night so both of us curled up in the one bed and soon fell asleep.
I was woken up with a loud bang as the door was flung open. The figure rushed to our bedside and began shouting at us to wake up. I grumble sleepily, it was still dark outside. "Help, Ivan, kidnaped Bronislava," Tamara shouted, "he overheard him talking about an escape plan and took him away to some room in the basement, now wake up!"
"I'm up, I'm up," I grumbled as I sat up in bed, "let me get ready and I'll help you."
"Meet me in the basement," Tamara stated as she ran off.
Vlad was already getting ready, he found some clothes in one of the chests in the room and began to get dressed.
"At least go to the bathroom to change!" I shouted at him.
"We're boyfriends after all, why can't I change in front of you?" he was right, I didn't reply, "besides hurry up and get yourself ready, Bronislava could be dead now for all we know," Vlad tossed some clothes at me.
I did the same and stripped my dirty clothes off and changed into the clean ones. We were both ready and we stealthily made our way to the basement. We found Tamara waiting for us there and with a silent nod we made our way down the dark hallway. "This is the door Ivan took Bronislava too," Tamara whispered as she pointed to a close by door.
She tried the door nob and it didn't budge. "Now what?" Vlad asked.
"Look for a spare key," Tamara replied and so we all set out too look in every nook and cranny.
I ran my hand along a brick wall and found one of the taller bricks to be loose, I pulled the brick out and ran my fingers along the inside of the space and found a cold metal object. I pulled it out and in the dim light found it to be a key. I placed the brick back and whispered to the others, "found it."
We tried the key and it fit perfectly. With a twist of my wrist and we were in. The door creaked open.
There we found Bronislava chained to the wall. He looked sick and worn out. Tamara ran over to him. I looked around and found that Iavn was no where to be seen. "What did Ivan do to you?" Tamara asked Bronislava.
"I don't know exactly," Bronislava replied, "he made me drink some type of liquid, after that I blacked out and found myself chained here.
"How do we free you," I asked no likening the thought that Ivan could come back here any minute.
"Ivan has the key, I don't know if there is a spare," Bronislava replied.
"I could just use my magic," Vlad stated.
"Why didn't you use it on the door?" Tamara asked.
"I forgot," Vlad replied stepping closer to the chains that bound Bronislava.
He began his spell. Soon Bronislava was free. "Well, well, well, you guys are rather good escape artist but wouldn't you rather stay here with me?" Ivan taunted as he walked in to see what we had done. He slammed the door. Vlad tried casting a spell to open the door again and give us a way out but he was cut off by Ivan charging him. Ivan nocked Vlad into a wall. I heard a thud as Vlad's head made contact with the stone wall. Vlad was nocked out immediately. His body crumpled onto the floor. Anger raged through me and my rational thinking was no where to be found. I lowered my head and aimed straight for Ivan. I charge and pushed him to the floor shouting the whole time. I banged his head against the floor. Several ear deafening thuds and cracks followed as I repeatedly banged Ivan's head into the stone floor. He was bleeding by the time I was done with him. He was still alive but Ivan was out cold. He would wake up in a few hours or a day. He would then be greeted with a terrible migraine and concussion that would probably last several weeks. I walked over to Vlad next and picked him up bridal style. I caressed his own bloodied head in my hand. This must have woken him up. "Alex," Vlad mumbled my name.
I smiled at him. "Yeah?" I replied.
"What happened to Ivan?" Vlad asked.
"It's a long story," I stated.
"Your just being modest," Toris said to me.
I blushed. They must have heard all the ruckus and came to investigate.
"Vlad, you'll never guess, Alex, like totally beat Ivan up, like after Ivan hurt you your boyfriend pushed him to the ground and pounded his head into the stone, like ten times worse than Ivan did to you," Feliks told the whole story with enthusiasm.
I winced at the details Feliks added. I felt bad now that I had regained my right mind. I felt like a bully. It was all worth it though when Vlad hugged me. It was an awkward hug since I was still carrying him. I immediately sat him down after realizing this. Vlad then kissed me. "Come on, let's get out of here," Vlad stated as he bent down over Ivan to grab his keys.
Finding the right one for the door to our freedom he grabbed my hand and tugged me along. Sure enough we made it out and proved that we were all strong enough to face any challenge.
