Water
Not a couple
"Raven, never again."
He whispered, holding the small girl, her head in his lap.
"You hear me?"
He sighed.
She was currently in his arms after what had just happened.
She swung herself over the edge of the tower, not caring who saw. Her ears could just barely make out Robin's screaming.
She landed in the icy cold water, her breath knocked out of her. The waves were strong, and as her cape got tangled, Raven realized she didn't know up from down, left from right.
She felt her breath finally let go as she started to sink.
Then he was pulling her. Pulling her toward the shore and onto the sand, holding her.
"Raven! Promise me."
She closed her eyes, speaking.
"Ok."
"Raven, I'm serious! You could've died!"
She looked up at him sharply.
"That was the point."
She hissed, trying to get up, but Robin had a good hold on her.
"No, Raven. You, you wouldn't."
"I just did."
She struggled to get out of his grasp, but he was stronger than her.
"Let me go, Robin."
Robin did the exact opposite. He sat her up, wrapping both of his arms around her waist.
"Raven, why?"
She sighed, relaxing in his grip.
"You know why."
She swallowed the lump in her throat, looking down, her hair covering her face.
Robin took her chin in his hand, turning her face to look at him.
"I told you, we won't let you end the world, Raven."
He sighed, leaning forward. By the time Raven knew what he was doing, it was too late.
He kissed her, gently, just a soft touch on her lips, then pulled away.
"Rae, we'll get through this, ok? Now please, promise me you won't ever do that again."
Raven removed any emotion from her face, looking into his mask.
"I promise."
How she hated to lie.
