Hope
Not a couple
"Go away, Robin!"
She screamed at him, slamming the door in his face. She was mad at him, for playing with her emotions, knocking down her walls.
He punched in the override code and walked in, surprised when he saw her.
She was in her bed, legs criss crossed, her hands holding her head. She was shaking, her powers lashing out.
"Raven, this is real, I'm real. I didn't play with your emotions, I love you."
He spoke, his voice scared for her.
She looked up at him, eyes filled with anger.
"No. It's all fake. You don't love me, and I don't love you! Robin, stop! We can't do this!"
"Why not?! We have a right to feel, to be! We can love, can we not?!"
"No. We can't."
Her voice was now quiet, her eyes seemingly lost in thought. She looked at him, exhaling loudly and slowly.
"My emotions will never allow it. Never allow someone to be so close, so raw, so real with me."
"We can try."
She looked down, her eyes clenched shut.
"Don't you see, Robin? It can't happen. And you being stubborn is only setting yourself up for disappointment!"
He shook his head no, stepping closer to the girl.
"I'm not stubborn, I'm hopeful."
"Well that's a shame, because I am hopeless, and holding on to the truth."
He was close enough now, that he could cup her chin in his hand.
"Then I guess I'll have to have enough hope for the both of us."
