Glide

Not a couple
(This one gets a little dark, my forte)

One

Two

Three

Three cuts in and she still wasn't satisfied.

Four

Five

Six

Six glides on her wrist and she felt a tad bit better. But not enough to stop.

She still felt disgusting, worthless. But that was a feeling that never truly went away.

She would always feel some type of hatred for herself. No matter what she did. It was a sickness she couldn't help.

Pills couldn't stop this. No medication could. All she wanted to do was feel physical pain to block out the emotional torture.

Seven

Eight

Nine

Nine lines on her wrist and she was done. She dropped the deadly tool to the floor, letting it seep blood into her dark carpet.

Raven removed herself from the ground, making her way slowly towards her bathroom. She let her arm drip blood off of her fingers onto the floor, deciding to clean it later.

She looked at herself in the mirror, scowling at the person staring back at her.

Her eyes were dull and lifeless, the usually dramatic purple now dim.

She hadn't wanted her team to think there was something wrong, so she had eaten everyday, bathed, talked. Basically just hid her weakness.

She never wore short sleeve shirts, which she was sure went noticed by their leader.

It was, of course, the middle of summer, so he probably found it peculiar.

But, he hadn't said anything about it, thankfully. Raven didn't know what she would say if he did.

She grabbed a wash cloth, turning on the hot water and letting the cloth soak it up.

She pressed it to her wrist, inhaling sharply at the stinging sensation, but not taking the cloth away.

She bit her lip, keeping herself from crying as she stared down at what she had done to herself.

She usually wasn't very emotional during this process, but for some reason, tonight made her seem like a baby.

Raven found herself wiping her eyes with the back of her sleeve, her heart aching and her mind screaming horrible things.

You're helpless. Weak. Stupid. You're absolutely repulsive. Nobody could ever help you from your sick way of helping yourself.

Shadows from the deep, dark places of her mind echoed around her, their words tearing her apart slowly.

The tears didn't get far, dripping off the tip of her small, gray nose and mixing in with the blood in her sink. She stopped them, realizing she didn't deserve tears.

She pulled the cloth away, noticing the blood had stopped flowing from her wrists. She squeezed the blood from the cloth, letting it swirl down the drain with her tears.

She reached into the cabinet, pulling out the antibiotic cream and two large bandages to cover the self-harmed area.

Raven squeezed some cream out of the tube and applied it to her cuts, swallowing harshly as she tried to stop crying. She put on the bandages, pulling her sleeve down and staring at her covered arm.

She leaned against the cold tile wall, exhaling slowly, closing her eyes for a moment and letting dark thoughts invade her tortured mind.

End it all. How hard could it be?

Her face twisted in some sort of pain, and a small noise came from her throat as she tightened her closed eyes.

Come on, Raven. There's no use in fighting any longer.

She held her head in her hands, her fingers shaking slightly from the intensity of emotion running through her body and soul at the moment.

Just let go. You can do it. It might be the only thing you can do.

Raven slid down the wall slowly, her knees to her chest, elbows resting lightly on her legs as she swallowed harshly, keeping her hands on the sides of her head.

She began to rock lightly, begging for the voice to go away. Begging for the torture to end.

"I don't want to hear you, anymore."

You don't have a choice.

"Go away."

No.

"Please, go away."

I'm staying as long as you stay, Raven.

"I can't live with you inside my head."

Then don't live.

She shook her head, no tears falling down her face. She kept her head down as she whispered pleas into the air, trying to block out the voice speaking to her.

"Help me."

Her voice was small, but full of pure, unsaturated emotion that would send anyone off the edge. She didn't sound like herself, and it was scaring her.

"I want to try to continue."

Continue what? Slitting your wrists? Why not do something more effective and slit your throat?

"No, no. I don't want that. I still want to be here."

No, you don't.

"I do."

Deep down, you want nothing more than death. For yourself.

"Why are you doing this?"

It's my job, Raven.

"I hate you."

No answer.

"What, you're done talking now?"

Still nothing.

She laughed emptily, letting her arms slide down to wrap around her shins, her chin resting on her knees.

She stayed looking down, not wanting to look up and see herself in the mirror.

She sat like that for a few minutes, taking in her situation.

There was a voice in her head telling her to kill herself. She was cutting herself, and she was an emotional wreck.

"I'm really fucked u-"

"Raven? Are you in there?"

When had he come in her room? Raven felt her body jolt. She would've gotten up, but she just couldn't. She had no energy left to defend her situation, or herself.

"Mhm."

It was barely audible, but she was sure he would hear it. He usually heard everything she said, whether it was aimed towards him or not.

"Are you alright?"

"Mhm."

This one was weaker, soft around the edges. Almost cracking.

She felt more than heard him sigh, and she knew she was in trouble, but she didn't care. Maybe it would be good for her.

"Is it alright if I come in?"

She pressed herself against the wall, her head still on her knees, her bandages showing slightly beneath the black sweater.

"Why ask? You'll come in, no matter what I say."

"Well, you're not wrong."

She tried to mentally prepare herself for his face, but as soon as he opened the bathroom door, she broke down.

She didn't cry, but she was shaking and breathing heavily as he stared down at her small form.

He took one look at her and his unmasked eyes widened in confusion and concern.

She was the only one he had ever allowed to see him without the damned thing on, and right now, those blue orbs were messing her up.

"Raven..."

He dropped down next to her, pulling her in for a hug. She let him hold her as she shook, trying her best to hide her wrist from his view.

She exhaled slowly for a second, not looking him in his face as she spoke.

"Why are you in here?"

He looked down at her wrist, his heart dropping, before he responded quietly.

"I heard your call for help through the bond. Raven, your wrist. It's covered in bandages."

She winced, swallowing harshly before looking up at him for a second.

"I know."

"Why?"

She felt her heart aching, as if someone were squeezing it and waiting for it to explode.

She didn't know what to tell him. That she heard things? Was a suicidal wreck?

She felt his arm at her waist, pulling her closer and letting her lean against his shoulder as her racing thoughts slowed, but didn't completely vanish.

"It's okay to tell me, Raven."

Raven's hands gripped her sweater sleeves tightly, not daring to glance up at him. It would be too much for her to handle at this point.

"Do you....."

"Do I know?"

She nodded, her voice raspy and small as she responded, "Yes."

He sighed, looking down at her, not expecting her to look at him after this.

"I do. But I want you to tell me, that way I can really know."

She played with the fuzz on her sweater, trying to avoid as much as possible.

"Raven...."

She took a breath, swallowing and looking at his hand in his lap.

"If you already know, then there's no point in me telling you."

"It could help you to open up to me."

She shook her head slowly, rubbing her eyes with her hands, extremely tired from the amount of energy she was trying to hold back.

"Please don't make me say it, Robin."

He squeezed her shoulder lightly, his eyes staring down at the crown of her head as Raven took in shaky breaths.

"It'll help you."

She flinched at this, his voice tearing her heart apart. He sounded hopeful and scared, for her. It confused Raven.

"I don't want to say it."

"I know, Raven. But please."

She felt her chest tighten at his plea, and she found herself revealing to him what he already knew.

"I self-harm."

To get surprise, a small weight was lifted off of her chest. It still hurt, and she still felt horrible in every way, but it was good to know the slightest confession could cause some sort of calm.

Robin sighed, looking down at her legs, speaking into the silence that was the air.

"I know you're broken, Raven. And I intend on helping you."

She scoffed emptily, swallowing and playing with her fingers as she mumbled three words beneath her breath.

"You can try."

So, uh.......I apologize for the lack of updates. I've been babysitting everyday for the past few weeks and it has just taken its toll on me. I've been so damn tired because of it. And then there was the Fourth of July and time just flew right on by for the past month. So yeah, I'm really sorry for being inactive and inconsistent with my Oneshots and other stories. I would give you a little something tomorrow, but once again, I'm babysitting, and then going straight from there to Darien Lake to see my four favorite derps at SLFL. If any of you guys are going, we should totally meet up! It would be amazing to meet some of my readers and fellow RobRae shippers :D Anyways, yeah, I'll try to update within a week or two, maybe even within the next few days if I can. As always, thank you so much for reading, voting, and commenting! It really means a lot to me, you guys! I hope your guys' summer is going well!:3
