Chapter 6: The Blue Core

A giant metal foot from a massive evil robot was about crush Astro. He gasped just before he was grabbed and saved by the orphan kids in their flying car.

"Astro." (Y/N) said. She smirked as the boy opened his eyes.

"(Y/N)? Cora?" Astro asked as he looked around and acknowledged the other kids. "Thanks guys. Hey? W-who's driving?" Astro asked confused before two barks came from the front seat. Trashcan looked to the kids as he drove. The kids yelled in fear and Trashcan continued to drive. The giant robots eye stared at them right in front of the windscreen. The kids screamed again. "Trashcan! Faster!" Astro ordered. Trashcan growled as he couldn't reach the pedals.

"Move over!" Zane yelled as he pushed the dog out of the way. They drove/flew away as the robot chased them. He ran into a bunch of powerlines and electrocuted himself. All of Metro City's electricity switched off and the floating island began to lower towards the surface.

"Uh, are we going up?" Sludge asked.

"No, the city's going down!" Cora corrected him.

"If the city falls, then everyone in it will-" (Y/N) began but Astro cut her off.

"(Y/N), I have to take care of this."

"Astro, stop. Astro!" (Y/N) yelled after him as he flew back to the falling city.

"Look!" Sludge pointed below the city to where Astro was. He used his built-in rocket shoes to help the city fall down slower. Metro City lowered to the ground with no one injured.

"Where is he?" Widget asked. "Will he be okay?"

"I hope so." Sludge added. (Y/N) continued to look around desperately, hoping that there was still some small chance he was alive. Meanwhile, the giant robot stood up and looked around for the same boy.

"Hey! Ugly!" A voice called to him. "Down here." He looked down to see a skinny light greenish blue robot and two others. All of different heights and builds. "We demand immediately that you cease oppressing out comrade, Astro. We may not be allowed to harm humans, but there's nothing to say we can't do some serious damage to a monster. Aye, comrades?" The skinny one said with a fist in the air. He turned around and found his friends had run away in fear. "Oh! Look over there!" He pointed away from where he was running and exclaimed as he ran after his comrades. The much larger robot continued to search for Astro, much like some orphan kids in a flying car.

"Where are you, Astro?" Cora asked, knowing she wasn't going to get a response. Their car flew for a couple more seconds it was grabbed by the massive evil robot.

"Where's your robot friend? Where is he?!" He asked. Widget cried loudly as the car continued to shake. "I've got an election to win, and I want that core! Tell me where he's hiding! Tell me! Do you hear me? Where is he?!" He continued to yell before a zooming sound was heard from behind him, Astro. "You're back for more?" He challenged. He noticed how Astro was aiming for his chest, which was where his core was located. Then he realised what the boy was planning. "Wait! Wait. No, no! Wait, wait, wait!" Astro smiled as he got closer to what he knew would be his end. "Wait, no!" The robot screamed.

Astro's smile stayed as he remembered everything good that had happened in his life. And the people in it.

Falling into his dad's arms after just being built.

Dr Elefun calling him 'extraordinary'.

Flying paper airplanes with Orrin.

His first flight with his rocket shoes.

Meeting Trashcan.

Bringing Zog to life.

Winning Hamegg's Robot Games with Zog.

Seeing (Y/N) for the first time.

Her smile.

His father finally accepting him as his true son.

"My son."

"Dad!"

He was ready.

"Get out of me now!" The giant robot continued to protest and dropped the car. "Get out!"

The kids screamed as the car fell. "Get us out of here!" Cora yelled.

"I'm trying! There's no power!" Zane replied.

"Use me!" (Y/N) yelled as she punched her hand in the centre of the car, giving it power. She didn't scream in pain, and although she winced, her only focus was to get everyone away from the robot.

"No! No!" He yelled before his arms blew off. "Oh, nuts." His head shot off and the rest of his body began to explode until all that was left was red and blue flecks of light that fell down from the sky.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The orphan kids called out for Astro as they walked out of Metro City and onto the Surface, which were both now connected. (Y/N) looked around and she saw Trashcan, who sat by a powerless Astro. She gasped and ran over to the robot boy with one arm purposely swinging back and forth, while they other stayed limp, completely drained of electricity. She saw how Astro's right arm was also disconnected at the shoulder.

"Oh, Astro..." She whispered as she tried to reconnected his arm. Widget hugged Zane as he shed a tear along with the rest of them. Cora kneeled beside (Y/N) and Sludge watched from beside Cora. A small conversation started throughout the crowd of people.

"Who was he?" A woman asked.

"That robot saved the whole city." A man added.

"Why would he care?" Another man wondered.

"Because that robot had more humanity than most of us." Dr Elefun complimented as he kneeled down on the other side of (Y/N).

"Than all of us." (Y/N) corrected without looking away from Astro.

"Who are you?" Elefun asked softly.

"We're friends of his, from the Surface." Cora explained.

"You're from the Surface?" A man from the crowd asked in disbelief.

"Can you fix him?" Cora asked, breaking the silence.

"No, I'm afraid not. His blue core was unique. Now it's died with him." Elefun explained as he opened a small compartment in Astro's chest to show a small grey ball, which was previously his bright blue core.

"It's not fair. All he ever did was help people." (Y/N) said firmly as angry tears fell.

"Not just people." A deep voice intervened. Zog stood next to the Surface Dwellers and Metro City Civilians.

"Astro brought Zog back to life." (Y/N) said with a small smirk, remembering how she convinced everyone to give Astro a chance, and it definitely paid off.

"How?" Dr Elefun asked.

Zog pointed to his chest. "The blue stuff."

"Do you have any of that blue stuff left?" Elefun stuttered. Zog nodded. "Do you think you could spare some for our friend here?" Zog stepped forwards while everyone else stepped back. Zog pointed a finger towards Astro and blue energy transferred into the smaller robot. Astro was lifted into the air and surround by blue light. Zog slowly lowered him down with Astro's shoulder back together. Dr Tenma, Astro's dad, walked through the crowd over to his son. Astro slowly opened his eyes.

"Dad? (Y/N)? What happened? Is the Peacekeeper gone?"

"Yes." Dr Tenma said proudly. Astro smiled brightly as he hugged his father.

"But... but how am I still...?" Astro began to ask before Zog waved to him. Astro ran up to the larger golden robot and hugged him. "Thank you, Zog."

"No biggie." Zog chuckled. The other kids ran over and hugged Astro. Cora was second last before (Y/N). Astro blushed a little as he hugged the slightly taller girl.

"Astro, I think you've finally found your place in the world. You're a hero. A robot with a heart of a lion." Dr Elefun acknowledged.

"And everyone finally knows it." Dr Tenma added. The crowd cheered and Zane lifted Astro onto his shoulders. Everyone walked onto the Surface and circled Astro and the kids.

"Cora?" A female voiced called. Cora looked around, confused. "Cora!" It called again. Cora turned to see a man and a woman walk up to her.

"Cora!" The man greeted as well.

"Mum? Dad?" Cora asked as they hugged her.

"Where have you been, sweetie?" Her mother asked.

"We searched high and low for you." Her father included.

"Really?" Cora asked, astonished but happy that her parents even remembered her.

"Viva la Robotolution!" The three weird robots yelled as the jumped behind the crowd that started to walk away.

"It looks like all the interesting stuff's over." Mike, the fridge, complained.

"Ah, typical. Just typical." Sparx whined.

"Thanks for your help, guys!" Astro yelled over to them as Zane continued to walk with him on his shoulders.

"Yeah, it was nothing!" Sparx yelled back.

"Well, when you think about it, Sparxy, it really was nothing." Robotsky added.

"Are you trying to upset me?" Sparx challenged. Astro laughed as he was placed back down by Zane. He continued to walk with the others, next to (Y/N).

"(Y/N), your arm! What happened?" He asked worriedly as he observed (Y/N)'s limp robotic arm.

"Had to use the electricity to power the car. Just drained it, I'll fix it later." She said with a wave with her other hand.

"How about I get my dad to look at it for you? Maybe he can make you a new one." Astro offered.

"I'd really appreciate that... But only if he wouldn't mind."

"Of course he wouldn't." Astro smiled. (Y/N) smiled back, almost completely losing her stoic persona. Although, she'll never lose that. Their moment was interrupted by the soldiers yelling commands.

"Everybody, take cover! We're under alien attack!" The orange alien was shaped like a sphere with multiple tentacles and one huge eye. Lasers shot out of its eye, causing little explosions on the ground. With slight hesitation, which wasn't noticed, Astro planted a quick kiss on (Y/N)'s cheek and ran into battle. (Y/N) stood still for a couple seconds before she snapped out of her trance and gathered the other orphans together.

"Wait!" Dr Tenma stopped his son. "Are you sure you're ready for this, Astro?" He asked.

"I was made ready." Astro smiled before he flew straight up towards the alien and punched it right in the eye.

A/N

Well, well, well, nice to see you back here. Been a while, hasn't it. Yeah, hehe, my bad.

ANYWAYS, um, so I have a small idea for this story but it'll probably only last up to one more chapter.

So, if you have other continuation or oneshot ideas, let me know before I upload the next chapter so I can put them up as well. If no ideas come in, I'll end the book after the next chapter. But don't worry, I'll make it a good ending. I hope :)

- Chalupa

Edit: Turns out it lasted more than one more chapter :)
