(A/N): Quite literally the perfect way to get back into writing around Halloween! I'm doing a lot of schoolwork on my computer so I can write at the same time so yay welcome back! Yes the requests are still paused =^=

Crove P.O.V.:

I was a mortal once, I remember that. Very vividly, I remember my last day as a normal crow. It was Halloween on the night that I died. My friends and I decided to go to a campsite to do some scary Halloween rituals. I thought that I knew what the ritual would entail but it's clear now that they tricked me. We used to call our friend group our flock. It consisted of 5 people, including me. BlueBird, Raven, Robin, Sparrow, and Me. 

"Come on Crove! You look newly hatched by the way you're lagging behind us!" BlueBird laughed as she dragged me to the entrance of the dimly lit campsite. I laughed too, but out of nervousness. I didn't want to try this ritual, but all of my friends looked so excited to do it. She dragged me into the campsite, with Raven, Robin, and Sparrow in front of us looking for a spot to do the ritual. I was scared but I didn't want to say anything or I was worried I'd look like a baby. So I went to them anyway. They found an open area, probably a spot for a tent, but there was no tent there. I glanced around and there was no one around. They must have rented out the whole campsite for privacy. This whole thing was Sparrow's idea and he looked at Raven and Robin. 

"Come on, you two. Set it up." He pointed at the ground and Raven and Robin got to work with setting the candles up. They got some white spray paint and painted a hexagon on the ground, with the five candles on it. The hexagon didn't really look evil or anything, just they way it was set up. I saw Raven light each candle and then they all stood up and backed up to look at it. I was confused about what to do next, because they never told me. They all just kind of avoided it when I asked before. BlueBird looked at me and then smiled. 

"Okay Crove! Stand in the middle, okay!" She grabbed my hand and tried to lead me over to the ritual spot. I froze up and I pulled away.

"Wait...What?! What do you mean stand in the middle! I thought you said this wasn't a blood ritual, Sparrow!" My voice was shaky as I spoke, and I backed up slightly away from my flock and the ritual site. I saw Sparrow start to smile at me.

"Oh. Did I say that? Aww, I'm sorry, too bad Crove! You were an essential part of our flock, and now you have to be an essential part of this ritual too!" He spoke and took a step towards me. "Don't you want to be important? No one ever gives you as much attention as we do. Do this to pay us back. We were so nice to you, and we were your friends when everyone was so mean to you." Sparrow grabbed my shoulder and pushed me into the center of the hexagon. I felt scared, before I saw Robin raise up an occult knife above my head and stab me right above my beak and in between my eyes. My whole world went dark, before I opened my eyes again. I didn't feel like myself though. It was an ethereal feeling. I felt new, but I still felt the same as I did. 

"Welcome home, Crow." A voice in front of me said. I looked up and I saw a tall creature. It looked like a shadow, but it had a teddy bear head. I saw I was still in the hexagon, but now I was wearing what could only be considered a grim reaper's outfit. Or maybe it was a Plague Doctor's outfit. I couldn't care to question it right now. I looked up into the teddy bear's eyes and I saw one eyes was white and the other was an unusual orange color. I saw torn marks all over his head and he carried a lantern. "Follow me, I will protect you. You have brought me to life, but at the same time, suffer the fate of betrayal and fear in your last moments as a mortal." He held up the lantern and he handed me a scythe. He held my hand and walked me to a swirling purple portal. 

"Come, let me take you to your new purpose. You can stand by my side and assist me spread the insolence." He spoke, and kept walking with me. I smiled at him and stood by his side. 

"Thank you." I said and walked into the portal with him. I wonder what will come next for my afterlife.
