Grey area besties pt 2
this is for discord you big fat white nasty smelling fat bitch-
EDIT: TW BLOOD
A wonderful Friday night was the night Harley and her new best friend Dick, cock if you're nasty, in their apartment. He was currently out on a "job" and would be home soon with plenty of sweet treats for the pair. He'd insisted on paying for it himself. He was such a sweetheart, she mused as she put on her clay facemask. He'd be joining her soon enough. It was rather refreshing to have a guy living with her that just wanted to be best friends and act like teenaged girls at a sleepover. She looked through the nail polishes she'd had, the same ones Dick used to bring her when she was in Arkham so they could talk, and chose her signature red and black. It just suited her so well. She'd herded her babies into the guest room because knowing them they'd try to eat her nail polish and began painting her toes whilst she listened to some Nicki Minaj in the background. She just couldn't listen to some lo-fi hip hop it was much too boring. As she bopped along to the amazing music, she was interrupted by the door to her apartment being burst down and a hoard of people running in. She turned to them with an unimpressed look. Batman, Catwoman, Kid Flash, Red Robin, and Red Hood were now stood in her kitchen in fighting stances. She huffed to herself and turned back to her nails. "Whatcha want Bat brats?" she asked.
"Where's Nightwing?" Batman demanded. Harley got a sour look on her face.
"I don't enjoy your tone. Ask again but politely and maybe you'll get an answer," she replied.
"I know you have him!" he shouted.
"Yelling isn't polite now, is it?"
"Why you little-" Catwoman put a hand on his shoulder so he didn't do something stupid. She knew Harley and knew if they just played ball they'd get the answers they want.
"We know you have Nightwing here. Just let him go and we'll leave," she bargained.
"Well, there's a problem right there. Dickie ain't here. He's out on a job right now and I'm certain he ain't up for seeing you standing in our kitchen," Harley explained rather calmly. "Is one of you gonna fix our door or?"
"What do you mean our?" Red Robin asked.
"He's my roommate," she answered.
As they were about to explain that a captive is not a roommate, the person they were looking for appeared behind them with a paper bag of groceries. Blood trickled down from his nose and there was a small bruise forming underneath his eye. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Dick asked. They turned around to face him. "You broke our door."
"Why are you saying our? You were kidnapped, this isn't your apartment," Kid Flash insisted. The acrobat raised an eyebrow at him and shook his head, side-stepping past both the group and the broken door he'd have to fix later so he could get to the freezer. "Uhm I'm here voluntarily."
"No, you're not! You're here because some sort of villain, most likely Harley, has messed with your head and made you insane!" he argued. Dick rolled his eyes and continued to put the ice cream in the freezer before going to the sink to wash off the blood on his face. His nose wasn't broken but he'd been punched hard enough to cause a nose bleed. He got the job done though. "Nightwing-"
"I know his name dickhead," Harley revealed to Batman.
"Richard, you're clearly not in the right frame of mind right now. Come home with us and we'll sort this whole thing out. It'll be like it never happened," Batman continued.
"How many times is it gonna take for it to get in your thick skulls? I. Don't. Want. To. Be. A. Hero. Anymore." He even clapped his hands for emphasis in hopes it would get into their heads. Dick walked over to Harley and looked at the box of nail polish. He took out a black and a light blue then began shaking them to even out the pigment. Catwoman sighed and walked over to him, cupping his face in her hands. She wiped some of the leftover blood from his nose off with her thumb. "Look me in the eyes and tell me right now this is what you want. You know I'll support you either way but you need to tell me," she said.
"Mama, this is what I want. I'm done being a hero." She smiled solemnly and took her hands away.
"Then I suppose I better welcome you to the criminal world. Or regard you as competition?"
"Both. Both is good," he replied with a smirk.
"You should join us! It's been ages since we've had a pow wow," Harley suggested. Selina shrugged to herself and sat down with them much to Batman's discontent.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Batman yelled. "You're just going to let this happen?"
"He doesn't want to be in your business anymore. You're going to have to accept that. It's not even unheard of, Red Hood is an anti-hero and who's to say Dickie here won't follow suit one day?" He went to say something but closed his mouth. He was red with anger and couldn't bear another minute with these frustrating people. He gave them all the best bat glare he could muster but, aside from Harley who'd forgotten how harsh it could be, it was not effective. "Fine. Be like that. I won't be there when all of this fails, Richard. You're waving away your last chance at help," he insisted. Dick stared at him with a glare that was somehow harsher than his own.
"Such thoughtful words. I'll make sure to cherish them. Now get the fuck out," he replied.
Batman huffed and looked to Red Robin who hung his head before following him out of the room. He didn't want to leave his brother just yet but he wasn't in the mood for an argument. He'd find Dick soon enough and they'd have a proper talk then. He hoped maybe, just maybe, a chat that was less harsh would change his mind. This left Red Hood and Kid Flash. Red Hood had to admit that the older looked happy sandwiched between the pair of criminals. Well right now he was wearing a horrid glare but before that, he looked happy. For God's sake, he'd brought home ice cream and was about to paint his nails with people. He wouldn't do that if this wasn't right for him. He was only here for a few weeks, it couldn't be that easy to flip his mindset inside out. This might just be what he wanted. For some reason that kind of crushed Red Hood. Dick had a genuine change of heart and everyone was trying so hard to change it back. When he did the same, there wasn't that much effort. He couldn't help but feel jealous of all the attention he was getting. "This is just some sort of mental break from being hit in the head too much or something but we can fix it. You just need to realize you're not well," Kid Flash insisted.
"I'm mentally stable! This is what I want."
"How am I supposed to love you when you're being so idiotic?" he shouted. Upon saying this, Harley stepped in. There was no way she was going to sit there and let her roommate take that shit.
"Now that's just blatantly manipulative," she stated furiously. "You can't just say "be the way I want you to be or I don't love you." You can call him an idiot 'cuz he can be but you can't just withdraw your love like that or there wasn't love there in the first place." Kid Flash looked her up and down with a glare.
"What do you know? He's my boyfriend," he snapped.
"And he's been visiting me in prison for years. We both know he's stubborn so if he's changed his mind after all this time then it's a well-thought-through decision and nothing less," she defended. "So don't try that shit in OUR home."
"Dick, are you just gonna let her treat me like this?" The acrobat folded his arms defensively.
"Indeed I am. I would say don't let the door hit you on the way out but it appears you guys broke it down," he replied. The ginger stared at him, almost surprised that this was what tore them apart.
"Fine. Consider yourself single until you find some common sense. Then we can talk," he snapped, running out as fast as he could. If he went even slightly faster there'd be a line of fire following him out the door. Dick watched, trying his best to keep a hard stance but he couldn't help but blink a few tears away. "Hey hey, it's girls night and there's no crying allowed. Fuck him," Harley insisted.
"Suppose I should say I'm proud of you Goldie. For y'know changing careers. I have to admit I'm a little jealous of how much they're trying to drag you back to hero work," Red Hood stated. He hoped it would make the older feel better but he wasn't quite sure if it would work. This was more of Dick's department.
"I don't think they're doing it out of good faith Lil Wing," he replied with a sad smile. "I've been a hero for so long that I think they're worried if even I can turn then will they turn too. Change is always difficult. It is for all of us."
"At least you have Harls. I guess if you're bleeding out somewhere and you've exhausted every other place then you've got me too," he offered. Dick laughed at him and nodded.
"I'll keep that in mind." Red Hood walked over and put out his hand for the other to shake.
"Agree to be a little shit with me to annoy Bats?" He took it instantly.
"Agreed. I'll see you around Lil Wing." The anti-hero walked out, awkwardly stepping over the door before disappearing down the hall. "Sorry about that Harley, I can fix the door before you can say emotional trauma."
"Oh kitten stop," Selina cooed. "You've got me, Harley and your brother. That's all you need for the time being. I'm sure you'll find someone even better than that silly speedster soon enough."
"I hope so Mama."
TIME JUMP BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE THAT DAVICK CONTENT
Dick rested his head on David's chest as they danced together. The ginger's hands held onto his hips lightly as they rocked together to the rhythm of the music. His arms were slung around the other's shoulders, keeping them close. They were in their bedroom, pretty much the only place they were this lovey-dovey without embarrassing themselves. Everything felt so relaxed. "Boss? You're awfully quiet," David inquired.
"Says you," he replied with a smirk.
"Yes but I'm not a chatterbox usually," he pointed out. Dick looked up to him, still wearing a smirk.
"I'm simply enjoying the moment my dear." He connected their lips together in a sweet kiss, his eyes fluttering closed and staying that way even after they broke apart. They opened when he felt David's hand cupping his cheek. It felt nice. Almost pure. "Baby, are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm just fine. Especially with you here. I never thought I'd have this again," he replied. "You don't have to say it back but I love you."
"I love you too."
