FIFTEEN
"I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die."
"For the last time Hoseok, your not gonna die." Taehyung reassured his friend, lightly patting his back. The male groaned, and glared at the younger male. He crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes gesturing at the bulky boy only a few feet away from him.
"Really? Because I'm sure you said Jungkook was a very tough opponent and only loses to Jimin and Namjoon. I'm gonna die Tae, just look how bulky Jungkook is." Hoseok snort. Taehyung sighed, nervously scratched his cheek.
"Well I'm just trying to be supportive. I didn't think you would go against Jungkook off the bat. That was a twist. I wonder who was in charge for this year's tournament?" Taehyung asked no one in particular. Hoseok groaned and watched the bulky boy stretched. Jungkook pushed his hair back and cracked his neck. Jimin was next to the boy, also stretching while talking to the boy. But Jungkook was looking directly at Hoseok. A shiver went down Hoseoks spine from the timid look and stance Jungkook gave off.
"How am I supposed to wrestle with someone like him?" Hoseok asked, now taking the bandaged cloth from a table and wrapping it around his palm.
"Hey, be lucky it's not Wonho. Wonho is a complete muscle pig and very scary. Your lucky he never participates in these things because he's scared he's gonna break someone's neck." Taehyung pointed towards a large muscle man with pale blonde hair, with arm crossed as he was talking to another man with black hair. He was wearing all black with a silver belt tied from his robes with a blue silver 'W' on the left side of his chest. Hoseok flickered his graze to what Taehyung was pointing at and almost fainted on the spot of shock. But what stood out to Hoseok the most was how big his biceps were. It was as if his own shirt was gonna rip from the largeness of his bicep. If being compared Hoseok would be a stick next to him.
"H-Him??! That's Wonho?!!" Hoseok gaped, his eyes wide. Taehyung nodded, placing his hands behind his back.
"His real name is actually Lee Hoseok. You know, same name as yours, funny isn't it? But he decided to rename himself Wonho. He came here with Shownu. He's also Kooks mentor." Taehyung hummed. Hoseok ran his hands through his hair with a sigh, almost like he was gonna give up then and there.
"I'm really gonna die."
"Stop saying that. If things get too bad, well Y/n would stop it. She can't have you dead."
"That's not reassuring at all." Hoseok huffed, now tying his other bandaged cloth around his other hand.
"Alright, Jungkook and Hoseok! You guys are up first! Center!" Yoongi yelled, causing Hoseok to grow tense.
"Ah, so I'm guessing it's Yoongi who was in charge this year. Damn, he did you dirty." Taehyung whistled. Hoseok grumbled, tying tightly the cloth once last time before walking towards the center.
"Of course it's him, he doesn't like me." Hoseok grumbled, straightening his posture once he got to the center. Jungkook did the same, swiftly moving his brown bangs off his face. He grinned, crossing his arms over his chest flickering his murderous gaze towards the prince. Hoseok swallowed, placing his hand on his hip before flickering his brown eyes towards the pale man. His stomach growing uneasy from the tension and nervousness he felt.
Yoongi blankly stared at the prince with crossed arms. His hair slightly parted in the middle, his body language showing clear disinterest. A crowd slowly started to form around the two. Mostly consents from the tournament while others were from the camp. They all gathered to watch the well waited fighting match with the prince being involved.
"Alright. You guys are you first. So here's the rules for the beginners here or if you forgot. First one down loses as you know, or first one to knock out the person wins. One, no hitting on head or anywhere near the head. Otherwise be creative. Two, no breaking any bones or any fractures, otherwise try to bruise your opponent as much as you want." Yoongi held out two fingers, a grin slowly made its way on his features as his eyes twinkle in amusement.
"And three, weapons are allowed and kicking between the legs is totally acceptable. If you have an ally in the crowd they are more than welcome to help. Now that's settle get ready." Yoongi grinned, stepping back into the crowd. Hoseok swallowed hard with wide eyes.
'Wait! Their allowed to get help if they have an ally in the crowd?! And weapons are allowed?!'
"Wait! I have a question? Why is it called a wrestling match if weapons are allowed? And how come the opponent is allowed to have help?" Hoseok asked. Yoongi chuckled with amusement with everyone snickering from his question.
"This isn't called a danger tournament for nothing your highness. No fight is ever fair. That's the purpose of this tournament, to show no fight is fair and to fight with what you got. This isn't your average fighting tournament. Good luck!" Yoongi shouted with a smug grin. Hoseok swallowed harder but gave a determined look. He circled around Jungkook, with both fists out and his knees slightly bent. Jungkook did the same but with a more confident look and stance. Someone blew a whistle indicating the fight to start.
Jungkook without hesitation lunged forward, almost cutting Hoseok off guard. Hoseok squat down by mere seconds and ran before their bodies collide. Jungkook growled, catching his balance before snapping his head back. Hoseok stood up, spreading his feet apart with a glare a heavy pant escape his lips.
"Beginners luck." Jungkook chuckled. Hoseok narrowed his eyes now running towards Jungkook. Jungkook smirked, raising his knee to collide with Hoseoks stomach. Hoseok wheezed only for Jungkook to elbow his shoulder in midair. Hoseok gasped for air, pushing back the male. He wheezed, holding his now bruised stomach.
'Damn that hurt so bad. He's not holding back. Well what did I expect? There's a reason why Yoongi put me with him, he wants me to lose faster.' Hoseok gritted through his teeth, his eyes glaring holes into the cocky male.
"Just say whenever you want to quit prince." Jungkook mocked. Hoseok rolled his eyes and spread his legs again slightly bending his knees, twisting his body so only his head was face at the male. He narrowed his eyes, his fists clenched tightly together.
"No. Just tell me whenever you get tired bunny boy." Hoseok taunted with a smug smirk. Jungkook lost his smirk and replaced with a frown, clenching his jaw. He ran towards the male with a fist out in the air, Hoseok squat down again using his left leg to swat his feet off balance. Jungkook tripped but caught himself and rolled into a summersault.
Hoseok stood up with heavy breathing leaving his lips. Jungkook chuckled in amusement, standing up straight.
"Damn. That caught me off guard. Guess you really do know how to fight prince. But let's see if that's really enough to beat me. Yo Hyung! Pass me a sword!" Jungkook yelled. Yoongi with a smug smile threw his sword towards Jungkook. Hoseok's eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
'Yeah they both wanna kill me.'
Jungkook caught the sword flawlessly, gripping onto the silver handle. His eyes burning with a fiery determination.
"Come on then prince, beat me."
Jungkook ran towards Hoseok, swinging the sword a bit too close to his chest. Hoseok barely moved back to dodge it.
'Sh*t! That was too close! Is this guy really trying to kill me?!!'
Hoseok took back steps while trying to avoid the slashing sword in Jungkook's hands. This fight was getting heated too fast and Hoseok wanted to end this fight already. His body was begging for this fight to finish. Jungkook swing his sword merciless in the air causing to slice through Hoseoks cheek while Hoseok was trying to dodge one of his attacks. Blood drip from his cheek but Hoseok ignored it, only for him to slip on his foot and trip down. Hoseok grunted only for a sword to be placed below his chin. Jungkook grinned, his eyes shining in egotistical brown.
"I win-"
Hoseok used his left leg and swat once again Jungkook's balance causing the boy to fall backwards. Jungkook dropped his sword with a painful grunt leaving his lips. Taking this chance, Hoseok bounced the sword with his foot and stood up, now pointing the sword at Jungkook with heavy breathing. Sweat drip from his forehead and his clothes sticking to his body. He painted heavily with a small smile while blood ran down his cheek.
"No. I win." Hoseok panted. The whole crowd gasped at the sight before them. Jungkook looked up startled at the sudden new position. His eyes slightly wide from the outcome. Even Taehyung who was in the crowd was in utter shock from the outcome. Yoongi grumpy walked towards them with an irritated expression.
"Hoseok won this round and would exceed to the next round. Now whoever's up next head to the center." Yoongi shouted. Hoseok smiled with some of the crowd applauded at his win. Hoseok then took out his hand for Jungkook to reach, a smile brightening his sweaty features. Jungkook raised his eyebrow before hesitating taking his hand. Hoseok helped him up and handing back his sword.
"You fought really good. I'm not gonna lie I thought you were gonna kill me." Hoseok chuckled, running his fingers through his hair. A few girls who were watching swooned over his sweaty exposed forehead. Jungkook shook his head like a wet dog chuckling at his statement.
"I probably would've. But I gotta say prince, I was not expecting any of that. You did really well for a prince. You might make it far. You have my respect." Jungkook grinned, stretching his aching body.
"That's cool! Can't wait to see who I'll go against up now." Hoseok lightly tugged on his collar still feeling incredibly hot. Jungkook shrugged and started walking away from the center and towards the tables that held towels and jars of water. Hoseok followed him wanting to be refreshed as well. Taking the jar of water and chugging it down in one go, Jungkook also grabbed a towel. Jungkook panted and placed the now empty jar on the table. He placed the towel on his head to wipe off his sweat.
"I'm not sure who's after this one since it's too early to determine who, but remember there's only three people who camp who can beat me; Y/n, Namjoon and J-"
"Jimin." Taehyung added. Both males turned towards the blonde man. Hoseok gulped, taking a towel and wiping the sweat off his neck.
"Yeah. Jimin Hyung isn't easy to beat. He was personally trained with Y/n, the best fighter in camp. Since once a upon a time Jimin was the weakest link in the camp. But with immense training, Jimin became one of the strongest fighters here. Not to be mean to Hyung, but he's small and most guys in camp are tall. He's also incredibly fast for his size." Jungkook explained, ruffling his wet hair. Hoseok let his towel hang loosely on his neck with another hard swallow as he listened.
"Yup. That's why he's so hard to beat. Next round is sword ship. Jimin is incredibly fast and is just like lighting. Quick and is able to strike you down. See Jungkook is one of the best muscle fighters. Then there's Jimin who's one of the best people to wield a sword. Then you have Namjoon, one of the best people to wield both. He's a great fighter and a great swordsman." Taehyung added, leaning against the table with crossed arms.
"This tournament is really outrageous you know. I didn't even know about any of the rules, and why didn't you tell me Tae?" Hoseok asked, now holding a jar of water in his hands.
"I'm not supposed to. It's a rule for beginners. It's just so beginners are at a disadvantage just like in any fight. This whole purpose of the tournament is to show how you should be prepared for anything like Yoongi said, it's to show that fights are never fair. The opponent is always at an advantage. We became accustomed to this thinking because Robin Hood has always been the underdog. We are always at a disadvantage. That's what Y/n has been trying to teach just like her father did." Taehyung explained, his eyes blankly forward. Jungkook hummed in agreement, his hands running through his wet hair.
"Yup. It's the motto here. No fights are ever fair, so pick up our swords and give it all we got."
Hoseok stared at the water with a sigh, now rubbing the soft towel against his cheek. He blinked seeing blood coat the once red cloth.
"Wow just a bit of bruises on Kookie yet a bloody cut on the prince." A voice whistled. Hoseok stiffened, his eyes flickering to met Y/n. Her hair down causing Hoseok to almost forget to breath. His heart clenching at the sight of her. Her eyes hazy as her left hand was on her hip. She swayed her head lightly to push her strands of hair away from her face.
"Eh. I've been shot with an arrow before, this is nothing compared to that." Jungkook shrugged. Y/n chuckled lightly before flickering her gaze towards the prince.
"Nasty cut you got there. I'm sure if I allowed it Jungkook would've cut off your arm." Y/n hummed. Hoseok chuckled nervously, wiping his cut with the towel only to hiss in pain.
"No I'm aware he would've." Hoseok smiled weakly. Y/n tsked, taking a new soft towel and gently dipped in the water bucket.
"Your an idiot. That's towel has sweat in it already don't use the same one. Now don't move." Y/n used her tippy toes, lightly dabbing onto his bloody cheek. Hoseok hissed slightly from the sudden sting, not even realizing how close she was to his face.
"Yeah well it's just a towel. Dang it burns a lot. Why when it's just a small cut." Hoseok whined with another hiss.
"Like I would know. Now stop moving so much prince."
"It's Hoseok not prince little dove." Hoseok corrected.
"Little dove?!!" Jungkook's shout caused Hoseok to jerk back. Y/n blinked turning her head to face the younger male, tilting her head in confusion. Hoseok now had wide eyes with rosy cheeks.
"He calls you pet names?!? What so your a thing now?! Only Namjoon Hyung calls you pet names!" Jungkook yelled. Y/n rolled her eyes, crossing her arms.
"I'm aware. And no we're not a thing. He just doesn't listen to me when I tell him to stop calling me that." Y/n huffed, now leaning towards Hoseok once again to clean his cut. Hoseok swallowed now realizing the close proximity. His cheeks red and his eyes wide staring down at her smaller form. His heart drumming in his ears.
"There all done. Now that's done, I'm gonna go get Jimin prepared. He's next to fight. If he wins he'll go against Hoseok in the next round. Anyway I gotta go." Y/n placed the towel down before waving them off and walking away. Hoseok eyes were ready to pop out of his eye sockets. His cheeks now even redder and he suddenly felt hotter than before. His mind internally panicking from her sudden statement.
'She called me my real name! She called me my real name! She called me my real name! She called me my real name!'
"Damn. Let me guess, this idiot likes Y/n too huh?"
"Why does everyone keep finding out?!!"
"It's obvious my dude."
"It's not!!"
⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
Y/n walked towards Jimin with her heart still thumping in her chest. It rang through her ears yet she looked completely poised. She then lightly nibbled her lip, almost crashing into a broad back. Y/n grunted, rubbing her sore forehead.
"Careful peanut, you could've gotten hurt."
"I'm aware Jin. Ugh sorry I didn't mean to crash into you." Y/n apologized, now moving her gaze to look up at the handsome man. Seokjin nearly waved it off shrugging. His hands carrying a large basket full of food.
"That's fine. But you seem a bit distracted?" Seokjin raised his eyebrow. Y/n frowned, her ears slowly heating up.
"Me? Distracted? That's absurd! Now why would I be distracted-"
"Mmm saw the prince now did ya?" Y/n tensed with wide eyes. But she cleared her throat, standing up straighter.
"Well of course he won the battle with Jungkook. That's pretty astounding for someone like him." Y/n explained a bit nervous. Seokjin chuckled, a grin making its away on his features.
"Right. And this has nothing to do with our conversation from last night, right?" Y/n tensed, whipping her head towards him with a frown.
"Absolutely not! I don't even know what your implying!" Y/n huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. Seokjin chuckled, raising his eyebrow towards her with a grin.
"Right because there's just absolutely no reason to be tense right now? Right?" Seokjin tease. Y/n pulled her lip into a thin line, her cheeks beating up.
"Okay shut it Jin. Stop with the teasing." Y/n grumbled. Seokjin laughed shaking his head.
"Nope! Shall we rerun our conversation from last night?"
"No!"
"Oh Jinnie-"
"Stop!" Y/n begged, with a whine. Seokjin laughed walking over a table to place down the basket of food. Y/n followed him like a lost puppy with a clear pout on her features.
"Your so fun to tease peanut." Seokjin cooed, pinching her nose. Y/n slapped his hand away with a frown.
"That's not funny."
"It's a little bit funny~" Seokjin sang, placing the food onto the table and emptying out the basket. Y/n rolled her eyes and leaned her head onto his arm.
"But jokes aside Jin, I'm really confused. And I don't know what to do." Y/n sighed, her cheek squished on his forearm. Seokjin finished his task and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Confused about what peanut?"
"About everything. I don't know how to feel anymore or think anymore Jinnie." Y/n sighed, wrapping her arms around his waist now hiding her face into his chest. Seokjin jerked back slightly but sighed, patting her head.
"It's totally up to you Y/n. All I could do is give you advice and give you my thoughts but it's really up to you." Seokjin laid his chin on her head, petting her hair.
"It's werid no one has ever showed me any romantic interest since I was nine. That was 16 years ago. And it's weirder because ever since he confessed, I've been getting these werid feelings, I've been feeling nervous." Y/n mumbled, gripping his jacket her cheeks feeling hot once again. Seokjin hummed, playing with her hair with a slight chuckle.
"Hmm you know I'm not an expert but I think you like him too."
"What?!"
