EIGHT
{Hours Earlier}
"Tae?" The prince called. His brown orbs searched through the crowds of people. He wasn't allowed to move, and it wasn't like he was going to risk it either. A certain pale male kept his dark orbs right on the prince. It made the prince shivered in fear.
Just why was everyone so cold towards him?
The only person who's be kind to him was Taehyung. Then again, Taehyung was naturally like able than him. Taehyung was also more of a sociable butterfly than he was. Really all Hoseok was able to to talk to was Taehyung, who just happened to be a spy for the Robin Hood. But it makes perfect sense why Y/n used him, no one would suspect a thing. And considering the fact Taehyung was able to make anyone open up towards him.
"Goodness Tae where are you?" Hoseok muttered. He sighed and lean against the truck of a tree. The snow slowly melting but it was still cool. His chocolate eyes looked upwards as he clutches his jacket near him to keep warm. Small puffs of smoke came from him as he breathes through his mouth. The sky was white and grey. No sun just the bitter cold air. Even though the day was gloomy, the camp looked lively.
Everyone seem normal, cheerful even. But that's what confused the prince, how could they be so chirpy when they have such a cold and sometimes cruel leader? Nevertheless a woman who was cold towards everyone she locked gazes with. And even Taehyung speaks about her like she's the most nicest person on the planet. Then again, Taehyung just naturally thinks everyone is good.
"Ah! Prince there you are!" A voice beamed. This startled the prince causing him to jump slightly.
"Oops sorry for scaring you!" Taehyung grinned and sat next to the prince. Hoseok sighed in relief before smiling at the boy.
"It's fine. Where were you?"
"Oh I was just sending off Jin, and assigning Hongjoong to wait until he returns. Big brother orders! Also I had to make sure Y/n was alright." Taehyung hummed his golden orbs looking up at the sky.
"Oh? Something wrong with her? I mean besides the fact she's so cruel." Hoseok muttered the last part. Taehyung huffed and immediately snapped his head back towards him.
"What?! Y/n is anything but cruel! She's really nice!" Taehyung protested. Hoseok sighed, lightly scratching his cheek in a nervous manner.
"You always say that. But the evidence is right there Tae, she's cruel. Shes cold towards anyone. I haven't seen her be nice towards anyone. The first time I met her, she literally threaten me." Hoseok explained, pulling his jacket closer towards him. The breeze picked up, piercing through his cheeks making them rosy.
"Everyone thought the same way as you did. But once you stay here long enough, you would see how much she cares for this camp and it's people. She's had it rough you know, at least I have my mother and brother. Y/n has no one to look up to, nor anyone to lean on but me and Namjoon." Taehyung started, not even caring about the fact the wind was blowing harshly through the air.
"And least you have your father and me. Y/n, Y/n is alone. She lost her mother shortly after her father passed away. She was only 9 when it happened. Believe it or not, she was a much happier kid when she was younger, loved the snow. But now that she's older, she's dreads the winter." Taehyung sighed, leaning his head back on the tree truck.
"Why?"
"That's not my place to say. Only a few people know why she dreads the winter and is cold towards everyone."
"And I'm guessing it's those people I met on my first day here?" Hoseok asked, raising his eyebrow. Taehyung hummed at his question now grinning.
"Yeah those men who try to kill you for saying things you shouldn't be saying. They all very overprotective over Y/n. That's why she entrusts them so much. She helped them all when they were broken. That's why that adore her so much. But the most overprotective is my brother, Namjoon. He would literally kill anyone if they dare mess with her. But that's because Joon was there when she was broken and a wreck. We grew up together." Taehyung explained, his golden eyes staring up at the sky. Hoseok looked at the boy next to him, his thoughts racing from his answers.
"You said something, something you shouldn't have said the first day you came here. Something not only caused the whole group of men pissed off, but also me." Taehyung's suddenly grew dark, his golden orbs staring intensely at the prince. Hoseok stiffen at his harden glare.
"I only let it pass because you were naive to her past, but now you know. What you said to her, was so unacceptable. Even though your not fully aware what happened to her, there's a reason why she hates men. And she has every right to do so. So next time you see her, think before you speak." Taehyung immediately rose from his spot before walking away, leaving the prince on the ground stunned at his response.
{Present}
The prince restlessly shuffles in his covers. Next a few feet away was Taehyung sleeping soundly, cuddled up close towards a pillow. Hoseok groaned slightly at the uncomfortable position and tossed himself towards a different side. But still he couldn't sleep. The moon was already shifting down and the sun was peaking its rays across the horizon.
Was I really just judging her? I didn't mean to, honest. Is this why everyone is cold towards me? Because they know nothing about me? Then again I am a prince, a prince who was never allowed out of the castle and forced to be imprisoned in my own home. And my father doesn't have a nice reputation with the people in the kingdom. He did kill his brother just to obtain his throne. Those people are just like me, know nothing about me, so they are quick to judge. Just like I was with Y/n.
Hoseok sighed internally, his eyes now looking up at the tent. His thoughts running wind and keeping him awake.
Even though I've never seen her nice towards people, I do admit she runs her camp very orderly. Though she's mean and scowls at her men, her men merely grin and walk about like nothing. And I do remember her concern over one of the soldiers when they were wounded. Though it was more of tough love if anything, she still scold at the man. Maybe there's a reason she hides her feelings of concern. She despises men yet cares for them. But why can't she show more of it? What's wrong for a women to show-
"Everyone up!" A loud booming voice startled the prince from his thoughts. Taehyung also woke up startled. He looked at the prince before rushing out the tent. Hoseok immediately rose from his spot and left the tent to catch up with Taehyung. Finally the lack of sleep was starting to catch up on the prince causing him to slow down. Taehyung noticed and quickly stopped, the lightly dragged the prince towards Y/n. Everyone was busting and moving, with quiet nervous mutters.
"Y/n? What's with all the commotion?" Taehyung asked, his eyebrows furrowed in worry. Y/n shouted someone to hand her a bow and some arrows, then she looked back at Taehyung.
"Someone took Jin, and I'm gonna go kill that person." The prince felt an unsettling feeling rose from his stomach. Her venomous tone made the prince swallow hard. Her eyes were flaming a crimson fire. Her jaw locked as her eyes narrowed at the weapons someone just handed her.
"Y/n you better not go alone-"
"I won't Joon, I'm taking Jungkook and some other men. I'm not stupid."
"Well when it comes the BTS group, you tend to act on emotion then Brain." Namjoon sighed. But Y/n merely waved him off, her eyes still burning with that same determination.
"Y/n! Y/n!!" A voice made them all perk their heads up. Up running was a boy with ash grey hair and ocean blue eyes. His lips parted from his heavy breathing. He was wearing a dark grey robes tied together with a silver belt. His pants were black with black rubber boots. Tied around his waist was a sword. A lime green cross 't' symbol was on the left side of his chest with the same symbol dancing on his sleeves.
"Yes Yeonjun?" Y/n answered, her hands placing the small knifes inside her boot and mid half way up to her thigh. Her bow and arrow bag swing over her chest.
"There's royal guards here! Up north heading straight this way!" Yeonjun said breathlessly. Y/n cocked her head towards the side while the other people gasp and muttered among themselves.
"Do you think they know we have the prince?"
The people continued to mutter among themselves. Y/n twitched her eyebrow before giving a glance at Taehyung. Taehyung understood what she was signaling him. But Yeonjun's next words cut everyone off guard.
"But that's not all Y/n, they have Jin."
