The next morning Tony and Bruce woke up early to work on a way to get Dick home. They knew in essence how to build the portal thanks to Dr. Eric Sulvic's research, however; they didn't have the correct energy to perform the task, or a way to determine which demention he originated from. Thor had mentioned an infinity stone that allowed for interdementional teleportation, but that it had been lost. And the only other person who would know how to accomplish such thing is Loki. Who they didn't want to deal with. So instead they would work out and formulate every possibility until Dick was home.

Clint, Steve and Thor were awake and preparing breakfast, however; Natasha and Richard were nowhere to be found. Which was strange because Nat was always the first to rise, she would be done with her training and paperwork before the others were awake. Making time for her to complete extra missions assigned by Fury.

Because they had an extra member present in the tower, Clint decided to make homemade french toast and freshly squeezed orange juice. Being the only Avenger with kids gave him the upper hand in knowing how to make someone feel welcome and special, and he intended to make the most of it. Flipping over the last piece he looked around hoping that Nat and the boy would come out for breakfast soon. However, Thor (always the impatient one) decided that he would wake Richard and find Natasha himself. Steve came with him, wanting to be sure that Dick was settling in ok, and because he knew how Thor could be sometimes.

They both approached Dick's room, opening the door. Thor walked right in, surprisingly light footed for the usual loud Asguardian but stopped as he caught sight of the other person in the room. Natasha was seemingly sound asleep, with Dick wrapped tightly in her arms, a smile embedded on her face. The two heros' strong hearts melted at the sweet sight, but as much as they wanted to leave them alone they knew that Dick needed to eat.

"Natasha..." nothing. "Natasha!" Steve said slightly louder. Nat shifted and slowly opened her eyes looking around the room, her eyes falling on the asleep boy in her arms.

"Clint has breakfast ready." Thor said. Natasha nodded her head and shook the boy lightly to wake him. Dick opened his eyes a little startled, quickly searching the room for any threats. His tense body now relaxed at seeing his newly acquainted friends. The hero's didn't miss the action, and Natasha was starting to get a better sense of the boys training.

"Are you hungry?" Steve asked. Richard nodded. "Well then I hope you like French Toast!" Steve said excitedly. Natasha and Richard began to get up and they all made their way towards the kitchen. The smell of homemade, french toast filled their noses.

"Good morning everybody." Tony said while walking into the kitchen with Bruce. "I trust you all slept well."

"Yeah, we did actually." Thor answered, not realizing it was a rhetorical question.

"Of course you did big guy, all the beds in the tower are temperpedic."

Dick sat down at the bar, while Clint passed him and the others large servings of toast and fruit.

"So, how are you guys doing on developing a system that will hopefully get me home?" Richard asked.

"Well... we have most of the math figured out, we just need to build a prototype and start running trials until we get it perfect." Bruce explained. "And then we need to figure out how to pinpoint your demention, and get you home."

"Speaking of which, we should get back to work. We only came down to grab a quick bite while Jarvis ran some calculations for us."Tony said. He and Bruce promptly left the room leaving the others.

Once everyone was finished with breakfast Clint and Steve cleaned up while Thor was reading a book in a language Dick didn't recognize. He felt so awkward in the Tower, he knew he was welcome and liked, however; this small band of hero's had a nice comfortable system. The Justice League was a better organized, serious and developed group of hero's. However, they didn't have a working relationship of trust. Everyone in the JL had their secrets, and private lives. The Avengers (Of what he could tell) were disorganized and silly. But they all trusted and... loved each other as friends. Which made the small group of hero's great. Once he got home, he would like to change the way the Justice League interacted with one another. Instead of keeping secrets to prevent other team members from betraying them, he would like for them to try to be friends to be able to help one another overcome their weaknesses.

Comming out of his train of thought he noticed Natasha eyeing him  closely. He didn't know the roles each team member had in the Avengers, however, he had a sense of what Black Widow's was. She played the role of super spy assassin. The exact role he played on the team of Young Justice. He had a sense that Clint and Artemis had the same abilities, given that his name is Hawkeye. Thor would be Superboy, Captain America would be Aqualad and Tony would be Wally. But only for the fact that they are both funny and very proficient in science. He didn't quite know what Bruce Banners role was, but he would find out soon enough. And even though he didn't like Director Fury, he knew that he came the closest to comparing with Batman.

"So Thor, what are you reading?" Robin asked in an attempt to break his feeling of awkwardness, and to try to see what Natasha is analyzing about him precisely without her knowing that he knows.

"I am reading the Prose Edda, Gylfaginning, Skáldskaparmál and Háttatal. Which is a series of old poems detailing the creation and destruction of the Norse God's. It was written by Snorri Sturluson in this world's 13th century."

"So basically, you are reading about yourself in an account written by a mortal man?" Dick clarified.

"Precisely, only it has been translated to Ancient Asguardian text." Thor said. " It is a very good read if you are interested. I have heard that you are very proficient in languages. Perhaps I could teach you Ancient Asguardian if you are interested, seeing as you shall be with us for a while." Thor offered kindly.

"I would love too! But first let me change my bandages." Dick answered enthusiastically, forgetting the real reason begind the conversation as he went back to his room.

"Here, I'll help you." Natasha offered.

Natasha carefully and skillfully wrapped the new white clean bandages around Dick's torso. He could see her eyes trailing across the other portions of his skin, analyzing what kind of weapon made what injury. He knew that she wanted to ask him about it, however, he figured that she didn't know how to approach the subject. So he decided just to do it for her.

"When I was 8 years old, I met the Joker for the first time. I had snuck out of the manner to help Bruce, however, I ended up finding the Joker instead. I had only been Robin for about 3 months and Bruce's ward for about 5 months and I didn't know anything about the clown. I just assumed that he would be an easy target to take down myself. I was so eager to prove myself to Bruce that I was worthy enough to be Batman's parter. However, the Joker turned out to be the most horrific villian in all of Gotham. He bested me in a matter of seconds, and the next thing I knew he was digging a sharp blade into my chest spelling out his name, marking his newfound property. Surprisingly the Joker left me alive, he said that if I were to continue to be the Batmans partner, then we would continue to be best friends. The kind that knew about each other's scars... Batman found me and was so angry. That was when I decided that I would never again be beaten so easily. But it happened again anyways." Robin said solemnly.

Natasha took the information in, horrified that an 8 year old went through something so horrifying. She started training in the Red Room when she was 15 and she didn't go out on a real mission for the KGB until she was 21. She had never felt so much respect towards someone until now. She had been raised to be a monster... a Black Widow, but this child Richard, chose to be a hero. And when faced with adversaries, he didn't quit, or end his life.

"Thank you for telling me that Richard." She said to him, pulling him into a hug. Dick knew the action wasn't out of pitty, but out of understanding. He slowly wrapped his arms around her, returning the gesture.
